Chapter 863 His Intuition
Emmeline also leaned over. In order to have a better look at it, her whole body leaned to his side, and her head was almost next to his.
After a while, she asked in a low voice, "Did you see anything?"
Jara handsome brows furrowed slightly as he said in a low voice, "This isn't the same piece from four years ago?"
"What?"
Upon hearing that, Emmeline was stunned as she looked at him in surprise.
Putting down the jade, Jara turned his head, and only to realize that she had already leaned over at some point.
The two of them were at a very close proximity. They were so close that he could easily smell the faint scent of lavender on her hair, which it disrupted his breathing.
But soon, he acted as if he didn't notice it and hid away his feelings. Silently, he moved closer to her so he'd be closer to her.
Raising the jade pendant in his hand, he explained. "Look at the texture on this piece. I have carefully observed the one that appeared four years ago. The texture symbols on it are different from this one."
When he said this, Emmeline noticed it as well.
However, back then, she didn't pay close attention to it, which was why her memory was a bit blurry. She only vaguely remembered that it seemed to be a bit different.
Jara explained, "The symbols on the other one was written horizontally, but for this one, they are all vertical. Furthermore, the shape of each symbol is also different."
After realizing that, Emmeline frowned.
"So, they're not the same piece?"
In response, Jara nodded his head.
Putting down the jade pendant, he got up and picked up his laptop, then sat back down.
He turned on the computer and found the information he had asked someone to find out, then showed it to her.
"According to my investigation, this Jade has a total of twelve pieces. Each piece has a corresponding name. The one we obtained before was called Greed. Judging from the texture and symbols on it, we can deduce that this one is called Success."
Upon hearing that, Emmeline was stunned. "Success?"
"That's right."
Jara turned the computer screen towards her, making it easier for her to take a closer look.
Glancing through all the information, she already had a general idea in her mind.
"Does that mean, the Marsh Family wasn't behind the dispute?"
In response, Jara's brows knitted tightly together. "For now, I can't be certain."
Although he now knew that this jade pendant was not the same as the one that disappeared four years ago, somehow, judging from his intuition, he still thought that this matter had something to do with the Marsh Family.
Seeing this, Emmeline did not continue to ask.
Instead, she picked up the jade and illuminated it in the light. "Do you think this thing is really so magical as rumoured?"
Looking at her indifferently, he responded. "You can try."
"What?"
Turning around, she looked at him blankly.
Jara laughed, "Wasn't it said that this thing will freeze your age? You can wear it and wait for several decades to see if you will really grow old. If you did not, then it might really be effective."
Hearing that, Emmeline finally realized that he was making fun of her.
Immediately, she pulled a long face and glared at him. "Get lost."
Jara smiled.
However, going back to the topic, she was also puzzled.
"Since it's a treasure, and the Marsh Family isn't short of money., why do you think they wanted to auction it off?"
When Jara heard the question, he shook his head.
In fact, he really did not know what was their intention.
However, it was definitely not for money. It could only mean that they had other motives that couldn't be revealed.
As he thought about this, his heart sank a little.
In the end, he just said, "Let's take it one step at a time. Now that they are only showing this item and haven't make a move, but as long as they have a purpose, they will definitely take action. So don't worry, they will naturally reveal their intentions by that time."
Hearing that, Emmeline nodded, then, her gaze landed on the jade in the box.
"Then what should we do with this object now?"
In a lighter tone, Jara answered. "Put it aside for now."
After a pause, he suddenly looked at her and asked, "Did Skylar come to see you during this period of time?"
When this topic was brough up, Emmeline couldn't help but frown.
In response, she shook her head. "No."
At the same time, Jara also frowned slightly, "I have a feeling that his appearance has something to do with the auction held by the Marsh Family."
Stunned, Emmeline asked immediately, "What do you mean?"
"I can't describe it."
Rubbing the space between his eyebrows tiredly, after a while, he said in a deep voice, "It's just an intuition. Women believe in this thing very much, right?"
After that, he looked at her with a faint smile.
But Emmeline snorted and replied with a sneer, "Not every woman believes it, okay?"
Jara returned the question. "You don't believe it?"
"I don't believe it."
After a pause, she explained, "Compared to believing in those inreliable illusion, I rather believe in what I see."
As she spoke, she even pointed at her own eyes.
After some thought, Jara said, "Sometimes, eyes can deceive someone."
Seeing that Emmeline was surprised to hear it, he explained, "For example, sometimes what you see may not be true. In this world, there are too many people who can't help themselves. For most of the times, you have to experience it with your heart. What you feel is true."
The man's words rang in Emmeline's ears, and she was silent for a while.
After a while, she replied, "Maybe."
Waving her hand, she did not want to continue this topic.
"Alright, Since we've check the item and didn't find any clue, I shall go back to my room first."
Hearing that, Jara nodded his head.
Only then did Emmeline leave.
It could be her illusion, but when she left, she felt that there was a burning gaze staring at her.
After returning to her room, Emmeline took a nap.
By the time she woke up from her nap, it was already half past three.
As she opened her eyes, her mind was still a little muddled at the moment since she just got up.
Raising her head, she saw that the sun was very strong outside, which made her feel a little dizzy.
"Yunne."
She shouted.
Immediately, Yunne came in and saw that she was awake. A hint of joy flashed in her eyes as she asked, "You're awake."
In response Emmeline nodded.
Sitting on the bed with her head down, she knitted her brows slightly as if she felt a little uncomfortable.
Yunne came to her side and poured her a glass of water, then handed it to her. She asked with concern, "What's wrong? Are you not feeling well?"
Hearing her question, Emmeline shook his head.
After the moment of silence, she replied, "I don't know. Maybe I didn't sleep well. I feel a little dizzy."
Upon hearing that, Yunne thought for a moment and suggested. "It may be. Why don't I give you a massage using essential oil? So you can relax a little."
Looking up, Emmeline was quite surprised.
"You know how to massage?"
With a smile, she answered. "I've learned a little before, but I'm not good at it. If you don't mind it."
Emmeline thought for a moment, and since she had nothing to do, plus she was indeed feeling uncomfortable, she decided to let her try it.
