Chapter 719 Anxious

Would Anderson be able to locate this place and save her? Clarissa wondered.
Clarissa let her imagination run wild. Slowly as her thoughts run rampant, her eyelids grew heavier, and finally, she fell into a deep sleep.
At this time, on the other side.
Ascjian.
Starbay Villa.
Meanwhile, over in Starbay Villa, in the country of Ascijan, Anderson had not slept for two whole days and nights.
His eyes were bloodshot as he was controlling something remotely on his computer.
After two days and nights, his handsome face was covered with stubble, and his eyes were sunken in exhaustion. His face was as dark as night.
His cell phone rang, and he picked it up. "How is it? Is there any news?"
David sounded guilty as he answered from the other end. "I'm sorry, Mr. President. There is no news yet."
"What a bummer!"
The veins on his forehead nearly burst as he blew his top and yelled.
After he had caught his breath, he ordered, "Pack up your things. I'll go with you to search for them!"
Listening at the other end, David was shocked. "Mr. President, this..."
"Cut the crap!"
Anderson yelled again without giving him a chance to refuse and hang up.
Then, he picked up the coat hanging from the chair and went out.
In the living room downstairs, Marf and Anne, together with Pattie and other servants, were waiting.
As he walked down, all their eyes were fixed on him wide open with expectation.
Clarissa was supposed to be back the day before yesterday. Until now, she had not arrived. Anderson could not hide this matter from them anymore.
Marf was still young and probably would not understand what was happening. However, Anne was much older, she knew something was up when she noticed Anderson working non-stop without sleep for the past two days.
Her eyes were red as if she had been crying. As soon as she saw him walking down, she rushed over shouting.
"Daddy!"
She threw herself at him, held on to his legs, and asked, "Will Mommy come back? Can she come back?"
Anderson's eyes were brooding.
He picked her up and tried to comfort her. "She'll be back. Your mommy will be fine."
"Really?" asked Anne.
"It's true, I promise," Anderson replied.
He would bring her back, no matter where she was, even if he had to risk his life.
Anne bit her lips at his reply but finally, she chose to believe him, nodded her head and responded.
"Then, I'll wait for Mommy at home."
"That's right."
Anderson put her down and patted Marf on the head. Then, he said to Anne, "Take good care of your brother. I'm going away. When I'm not here, please listen to Pattie. Don't wander around, okay?"
Anne nodded her head in agreement.
Then, Anderson walked away quickly.
Not long after Anderson left, his grandparents, Carlos Jordan and Matteo Jordan came over.
The folks at Starbay Villa all knew about Clarissa's mishap. Carlos and Matteo seldom came to the villa, so they were not aware of the news.
It was only this morning that a call from outside alerted them to the news that Clarissa might be involved in a mishap. Upon checking the previous day's news, they realized that the plane that Clarissa was on malfunctioned and returned to the point of origin.
They could not get through to Clarissa's phone. There was no news from Anderson, and there was no answer on his phone.
The two seniors then realised something serious must have happened.
They could not care about anything else now, so they got in the car and told the driver to drive straight to Starbay Villa.
Unfortunately, Anderson left just before they arrived, and they did not get to meet each other.
Luckily, Pattie was in the house. As soon as she saw the worried look on Master and Madam Jordan's faces, she rushed over to ease their worries.
Once the two seniors knew that Anderson had left to follow up on this matter personally, they felt much relieved.
There were no doubts about Anderson's ability. Since he already left for the scene, then the situation should be under control.
Right now, in front of the two children, the two seniors were careful not to be seen as too worried as this would affect the children's mood.
After much persuasion, the seniors agreed to stay over, for the time being, to look after the children, and to wait for news.
And on the other side.
When Clarissa woke up in the morning, Nora was not there beside her.
The shock made her sit up immediately.
At this moment, there was a creak as the door was pushed open.
Nora limped in with a glass of hot water in her hand.
"Are you awake?"
Nora greeted her with a smile. She leaned on her walking stick and placed the water in front of Clarissa.
"Here's a glass of warm water!"
Clarissa exhaled a breath of relief. She picked up the glass of water and drank from it as she asked, "Why did you go out alone? I was shocked to find you gone when I woke up."
Nora smiled but did not answer.
Nora waited till she finished drinking. Then, she cast a glance at the door and whispered in her ear, "I wake up early and take the opportunity to go out for a look when everyone is still asleep. There's a window in the kitchen that isn't closed properly. I push it open and have a look outside. The surroundings are all mountains and hills. It won't be easy for us to escape."
Clarissa nodded and replied.
"Yes, I found this out on my way here."
Clarissa pursed her lips and continued in a low voice, "But, it's also good. We haven't found out who the assailants on the plane are. We are trapped here which means that we are safe from the assailants for the time being."
Nora agreed with her assessment and replied,
"Just that we don't know if these villagers are human traffickers. If they are, we must be more careful."
With a crafty smile, Clarissa replied, "Don't worry. Human traffickers only want money. They should be easier to deal with than those assailants on the plane."
Nora thought that what Clarissa said had a ring of truth, and she did not feel so nervous now.
After lazing for a while, the two of them dressed up and went downstairs.
Uncle Jasper and his wife were already up and around downstairs. Uncle Jasper was smoking his pipe in a lazy chair by the front door while his wife was cooking breakfast in the kitchen.
This year would be Uncle Jasper's sixtieth birthday. He enjoyed a high status in the village and was the village chief.
Everybody called his wife Aunt Emma. She was more deferential and would only listen to him.
From what Nora found out these couple of days, their son was working in a nearby town.
The nearby town was in reality, very far. The only means of transport here was inconvenient. It took a day and a night on the oxen cart to cover that distance.
That being the case, their son rarely came back.
This old couple usually stayed in the house and worked in the field if they felt like it. Their days could not be more peaceful.
Uncle Jasper enjoyed high prestige in the village, and most people would listen to him.
Nora's injury was a good indication of the prestige Uncle Jasper enjoyed. The barefoot doctor had wanted to go to the next village to treat the patients there but because she was rescued by Uncle Jasper, the doctor came and treated her first.
