Chapter 42 Pick Her Up

Clarissa was very appreciative of Evelyn.
Although there were many new stars, most of them were tempted by fame and fortune. They were flighty and impetuous, and very few people could bury themselves in studying acting skills.
Evelyn was born in a poor family and suffered a lot when she was a child, so she had experienced so many hardships and had a deeper understanding of many things in the world than her peer.
That was shy she understood that acting skill was the foundation of an actor's life, and money was not that important.
Meeting her in Starlight was like finding a beautiful jade in a pile of debris.
Clarissa was very happy. When they came back with their agents, she immediately asked someone to bring Evelyn to the office.
Evelyn was also surprised to see Clarissa.
She had seen Clarissa when she was in Twilight.
Although she seldom talked to Clarissa, almost everyone in the company knew that Clarissa was the top public relations manager in Twilight. She could solve every problem.
Evelyn heard that there was a new boss in the company, and she kept guessing who it would be, but she didn't except to see Clarissa!
However, when she thought of Clarissa's ability, she felt not surprised at all, because Clarissa was capable enough to set up her own company.
She walked into the office with a smile and said, "President Chapman, nice to see you."
Clarissa raised her head and smiled when she saw Evelyn.
"Hi! Come in and take a seat!"
When Evelyn sat down on the opposite chair, Clarissa discussed about her future development and current plan with her.
The planning department and publicity department existed in name only.
So she had to make some important plans for Evelyn in person.
After discussing for two hours, they finally finalised a general plan.
Evelyn was graduated from the Department of Performance in university and she loved acting. Naturally, her most important job was to act in films.
Besides, Clarissa planned to let her attend some popular variety shows to improve her popularity.
After Evelyn left, Clarissa asked other stars to come in and chatted with them.
Several of them were not satisfied with the company, but she didn't force them to stay.
She said that if they were willing to stay, she would treat them equally, and they could get chances to become famous by their own abilities.
If they didn't want to stay, she wouldn't force them.
They even didn't need to pay penal sum.
Clarissa understood that the reason why they signed with Starlight was that they had no other choices.
After signing with Starlight, they didn't become famous and it was impossible for them to make money.
They were a little hesitant. Clarissa didn't push them. She told them to go back and think about it, and they could give her the answer the next day.
After they left, she stayed alone in the office and carefully reviewed the information about the ten actors.
She wrote down their advantages and disadvantages according to her impressions of them, and then made development plans for them.
By the time she finished all these, it was already very late.
Clarissa stretched herself and raised her wrist to look at the time, only to find that it was eight o'clock in the evening.
She was so hungry that her stomach was growling. When she got up and was about to go to dinner, she suddenly thought of something and her face changed.
She took out her mobile phone in a hurry and found that there were several missed calls.
They were all from Anderson.
She thought, "Oh my god!"
She had been busy all the time, and she was used to put her phone on silent when she was working. But she forgot to pay attention to the time while working.
Anderson must have called her after he got home and found that she was not at home.
She didn't answer his phone calls, and she didn't know if he would be angry.
Clarissa packed up her things and called him as she walked out.
As soon as she called him, he answered the phone.
"You're off work?"
Anderson's voice was low and deep, and she couldn't tell whether he was happy or angry.
Clarissa laughed awkwardly and said with guilt, "Well... I'm sorry! My phone was in the silent mode just now and I didn't hear it."
Anderson was silent for two seconds.
"Come down if you're done with your work!"
"What?"
"I'm waiting for you downstairs."
Clarissa opened her eyes wide in surprise and wanted to say something, but Anderson had hung up the phone.
She had to go downstairs quickly. As she expected, she saw a black Rolls-Royce parked at the door.
The smooth outline of the car was shinning in the dark, which drew many people's attention.
From time to time, some people looked at the car enviously. Some people even pointed at the car and seemed to be guessing something.
Clarissa covered her face with embarrassment.
She thought, "Can't you park the car in a secluded place? You park it at the door and it is so conspicuous!"
Clarissa ran to the car fast. Before everyone could react, she had got into the car.
In the driver's seat, David was startled by her.
He almost thought that someone who was chasing after Clarissa!
Anderson was as calm as ever. After Clarissa got on the car, he ordered David to drive to the restaurant that he had booked.
When Clarissa heard the address, she was a little surprised.
"Don't we go home for dinner today?"
Anderson was reading a financial magazine in his hand. He said lightly, "Mrs. Jordan, don't you know what time it is now?"
Clarissa was stunned. It was only then that she remembered that it was past eight o'clock.
When she came to Estdal Manor for the first time, Pattie told her the family rules.
After eight o'clock, no one was allowed to cook for Anderson. Anderson's grandfather ordered her like this when he asked her to take care of Anderson.
He ordered like this to prevent Anderson from working desperately. It seemed that everyone in the Jordan Family had to obey this rule.
Clarissa smiled awkwardly.
"I'm so sorry! I was too concentrated and forget the time! Well... in order to compensate you, let me treat you to dinner tonight!"
Anderson finally raised his head.
He looked at her with a pair of dark eyes, and there was a meaningful faint smile on his face.
"Really?"
"Of course."
"All right."
Soon, the car arrived at the restaurant.
When they got out of the car, Clarissa looked up and saw the name of the restaurant.
Historic Mountain Resort.
What kind of place was this?
She was born and grew up in Visstead, and she had been living here for twenty years, but she had never heard of this place!
However, she didn't think too much.
Since she had never been here, she was happy that she could know a new place.
Anderson held her hand in a natural way and then they walked inside together.
There was a professional doorman at the gate. After asking the private box they booked, he led them to the box politely.
The restaurant was very large. There were artificial hills, pools and many trees in it. Stepping on the cobbled road made Clarissa feel that she was in a countryside. The scenery inside was unique. Although it was at night, she could feel that every stone and tree were all carefully decorated.
Clarissa soon realized that such a well-arranged place was probably a private restaurant, and it was only open to some special people, so she didn't know about it before.
