Chapter 996 Asking For Help

His words silenced everyone.
In the meantime, Jara's expression was extremely awful.
It was true that he had promised Coby to look for the Jade of Heaven previously in exchange for medicine that could suppress Emmeline's illness.
But he hadn't give up completely. He had been looking for other ways to save her.
Now, Robert had completely destroyed his last hope.
It was only then that he finally realized that Emmeline's illness was not that simple.
With a darkened, Jara asked, "Mr. Lane, do you know the origin of the cells?"
In his mind, he thought perhaps he could find the root cause, and found a solution.
However, Robert shook his head.
"If you want to know the origin of the cells, you have to ask the Marsh family. This disease originates from their family. As long as you are their bloodline, you will definitely have it. It you must look into it, I am afraid you have to trace back to a long time ago."
As he spoke, he let out a sigh.
Jara's heart trembled. It was only after a long while that he nodded his head.
"Okay, I understand."
As he turned to look at Emmeline, their gaze met, and they could see a trace of pity and regret in each other's eyes.
It hurt Jara to know that Emmeline had to endure the torment of illness all the time, and on the other hand, Emmeline felt sorry that Jara had to run around looking for her cure.
Then, she smiled faintly.
"Mr. Lane, thank you. We understand now."
With that, she stood up.
Clarissa's heart was also in pain, as she stepped forward to hold her hand.
"Don't be disappointed, there is still a way, right? Worst case scenario, you just have to take the medicine. Look at Rowan and so many others in the Marsh family. They can live to old age and are all fine. Coby also said that as long as you take the medicine on time, you will be fine."
Emmeline nodded.
Even though Clarissa was speaking the truth, she had to admit that as long as Emmeline needed to rely on the medicine, Jara and her would always be under someone else's control.
They were afraid that in the future, they would have to obey Coby and do whatever he said.
Both Jara and Emmeline did not want end up like this.
At this moment, Clarissa's eyes suddenly lit up.
"Ah. By the way, Mr. Lane, do you know how to make medicine?"
Robert glanced at her and snorted. "What do you think?"
With a smile, Clarissa said, "Right now, Emmeline needs a medicine to suppress her illness, but only the people in the Marsh family have this kind of medicine. If they had to rely on the Marsh Family to get the medicine, it is inevitable that they will be subjected to others. So, can you help them out to see the ingredients of this medicine? It would be wonderful if you can make it."
The idea gave Emmeline and Jara a different perspective.
Hence, both of them looked at Robert with expectation.
But Robert did not have a positive reaction.
In fact, if it weren't for Clarissa and Sierra, he wouldn't have paid any attention to her after he found out that she was a member of the Marsh family.
With the thought in mind, he pulled a long face, and he asked Emmeline, "As long as you help your family, they will naturally give you medicine. Why do you need my help?"
His tone was full of resentment.
As soon as Emmeline heard that, she was stunned. Of course, she was not stupid and immediately realized that there was something else in his words.
Therefore, she asked doubtfully, "Mr. Lane, seems like you are very dissatisfied with the Marsh family. May I ask if something had happened between you?"
Hearing that, Robert sneered. "I can't say that I have, but I really don't like how your family do things. A family that takes human life as a joke, what kind of person do that?"
After hearing that, Emmeline finally understood that there were some grudges between them.
Obviously, Robert didn't know about her conflict with the Marsh family, so when he saw her illness, he immediately thought of her as a member of the Marsh family.
Hence, she couldn't help but laughed and said, "Mr. Lane, you must have misunderstood me. Although I have the Marsh family's bloodline, I am not with them."
As she spoke, she pursed her lips and decide to tell Robert about how she found out that she was a member of the Marsh family, and how she had been threatened.
Since she was asking for his help, she must be sincere. Emmeline was not a fool, nor would she pretend to be lofty. She knew that, if there was anyone in this world who could reproduce the pill Coby gave her, Robert must be one of them.
And she had thought it over. There were so many people in the Marsh family, so they definitely needed a large amount of medicine. It was impossible that there would always be enough stock. Hence, there must be someone who was responsible for producing medicine.
If that was the case, there must be a second person in this world who was able to make this kind of medicine.
Therefore, they couldn't put their hope on just one person.
With the thought in mind, Emmeline added in a low voice, "Just like you, I'm against the Marsh Family too. It's just that my life is now in their hands, so we have no choice but to act nice to them for the time being. If you can help me solve this problem, we will no longer be in their control."
After that, Robert looked at her deeply.
"You said that your father was a traitor?"
Emmeline nodded. "Yes."
"What evidence do you have to prove that you are telling the truth?"
Upon hearing that, Emmeline was stunned.
Evidence? What evidence could she provide?
Her father, whom she had never met before, had died. Her mother had also died. She was the only one left.
If Luca hadn't come to see her, she didn't even know that she had the family's bloodline.
With the thought in mind, she frowned deeply.
At this time, Clarissa couldn't bear to see it anymore, so she added.
"Mr. Lane, you can believe Emmeline. I can assure you that every word she said is true."
After hearing Clarissa's words, Sierra agreed and added. "That's right. Robert, saving a life is a good deed. Please help her. I think Miss Illington looks very kind. She's definitely a good person. She won't lie to us."
In a low voice, Jara uttered. "Mr. Lane, if you can help us, just let me know if you need anything in the future, I will definitely fulfill your request."
When the words came out, Robert glanced at him.
Then, he snorted in a arrogantly. "You say it as if I'm helping you because of personal gain."
Suddenly, his words made Jara feel a little stifled.
However, Clarissa felt happy. She knew that since Robert had already said so, he had promised to help.
She couldn't help but smile and said, "Mr. Lane, I'll have to trouble you then."
Afterward, she turned to look at Emmeline and asked her to take out the medicine.
Afraid that Emmeline would suddenly, Jara kept reminding her that she had to have two pills on her at all time. At this time, Emmeline only had one with her.
She took out the medicine, and it could be seen that the pill was placed in a small box, which indicated how precious the medicine was to then.
As Robert took over the box, he opened it and looked at it. It was a golden little pill. Picking it up, he put it near his nose and smelled it, then his eyebrows twisted carefully.
Meanwhile, the group of people looked at him nervously, looking forward to his answer.
