Chapter 474 A Mysterious Figure

Clarissa's face turned red. She tucked the hair behind her ear and smiled sheepishly.
"Well... I don't think it's realistic for us to be together eternally, but since you're so sincere, I guess I'll have to promise you first."
Anderson curved the corners of his mouth, smiling so big with his eyes.
"Well, thank you for your help, Mrs. Jordan."
He held her hand and pulled her into an embrace. He gently placed his chin on her head and lowered his head to kiss her forehead again.
"I love you, Clarissa."
Clarissa reached out to put her arms around his waist. There was constant joyful chattering from the tourists around her, but her heart was warm and calm because of his warm embrace.
After they had floated the water lanterns, they walked around the nearby area. When they were ready to go back, it was already twelve o'clock at night.
Because it was too late, Anne was still a child after all, hence it was way past her bedtime. So an hour ago, Old Madam Jordan sent them a message saying that they couldn't find Anderson and Clarissa, so they went back first.
When they were floating the water lanterns, the two groups of people were dispersed in two directions. After that, it was not quite possible to find each other back.
Upon receiving her message and knowing that they were going home first, Clarissa decided to take Anderson for a stroll around the area.
After all, this was the place where Anderson had grown up, so she wanted to know more about it.
The two of them walked for a while, hand in hand, until they reached the parking lot.
Anderson told her to wait here while he went to retrieve the car.
Clarissa agreed. The parking lot was not far from the river, about a few hundred meters away. The stone road they had walked on just now was still within her line of sight from where she was standing.
There were still many people on the other side of the river. For them, the midnight marked the beginning of their night lives. Therefore, the crowd were getting bigger here.
Clarissa held her arms and waited for a while.
Suddenly, there was a noise behind her.
She had thought that it was the sound of Anderson's car. Just as she was turning around, a strong gust of wind blew towards her.
Clarissa's heart skipped a beat. She subconsciously wanted to avoid it, but it was too late.
The man was very fast and agile. Before she could do anything, he had already covered her mouth and dragged her behind a huge tree next to her.
Clarissa struggled with all her strength, utilizing all the self-defense moves she had learned before.
However, it didn't work.
The man's skills and agility were simply beyond ordinary people.
In addition, she was still pregnant, so she was unable to exert all her strength. After a few moves, she was at the losing end.
Clarissa's mouth was covered while she was being dragged to a dark alley.
"Don't move! I won't hurt you, I just need your help."
The voice of this person was very hoarse, as if it was extremely tired and thirsty, and weak.
Clarissa tensed up. The tip of her nose twitched as she suddenly smelled the stench of blood.
She tried to look back. "Are you injured?"
He did not speak, but there was no need for him to answer as the smell of blood got even stronger.
Clarissa suddenly felt relaxed for no reason.
She murmured, "Let go of me. Let me have a look."
He still didn't say a word, but the hand that covered her mouth quietly loosened a little, so that she could speak coherently and breathe normally.
"You're good. I'm no match for you at all, so you can rest assured. I just want to check on your injury. I believe this is your purpose of dragging me here too."
He paused for a moment before letting go of her.
"Sorry for the trouble."
He said in a deep voice. Under such circumstances, it was rare that a kidnapper would say sorry to his victim.
Clarissa knew that she was right.
He was not an ordinary man.
She turned around and saw that the lights were dim in the alley, far away from the busy district. Not only were there no lights, but there were also very few passers-by.
Clarissa couldn't see him clearly. Under the dim light of the moonlight, she could only vaguely see that the man in front of her was tall and strong. He was sitting on the wet ground, and his breathing was weak.
She frowned.
Clarissa reached out her hand towards the direction of the smell of the blood.
It was hot and wet. He groaned as if he was suffering from great pain.
She said in a deep voice, "You've sustained a severe injury. I can't see it clearly here and it is not a convenient place for treatment. If you trust me, come with me. I'll take you to the place where you injury can be tended to."
The man did not speak. Clarissa could feel that he was staring at her.
He was probably observing her.
After a while, he finally opened his mouth. "How can I trust you?"
Clarissa curled her lips coldly and said, "Now it's you who need help. Believe it or not, it's your choice, not my duty."
The other party was silent for a while.
Just then, there was a rush of footsteps outside.
Clarissa turned to look at the entrance of the alley and saw a familiar figure.
She was excited to see him and was about to call for him.
However, her mouth was suddenly covered again, and she could only make a muffled voice before she was dragged away on the ground.
"Mm... let go of me!"
"Don't move! If you move again, I'll kill you!"
Suddenly, a dagger was pressed against her waist. Before Clarissa could react, a gust of wind blew in front of her. Then she heard a muffled groan, and the world started spinning around her. She was then pulled into a warm and familiar embrace.
"Bang!"
Something was thrown heavily on the ground, and Clarissa immediately stopped him.
"Anderson, stop!"
Anderson's face was as cold as ice as he stopped.
He held her shoulders and carefully sized her up. When he didn't see any wounds, his expression softened a little.
Clarissa, on the other hand, was extremely anxious.
She pushed him away and wanted to step forward, but Anderson grabbed hold of her.
"What are you doing?"
"Anderson, he's not a bad person! He didn't want to hurt me."
Clarissa explained, but Anderson didn't believe it at all. His face was still frighteningly cold.
He shot a cold glance at the person who had been kicked by him on the ground. The person curled up and spat out a mouthful of blood. He was already gasping for air.
Clarissa's facial expression changed.
Anderson stepped forward and stepped on the man's chest with one foot. He snapped, "Tell me! Who are you?"
The man slightly opened his eyes, and half of his face was covered with the blood coming from his mouth. His face couldn't be seen clearly, and his voice was hoarse.
He took a look at Anderson and then at Clarissa. Finally, he tilted his head.
He completely passed out.
......
On the way back, there was silence.
Clarissa sat in the front passenger seat. From time to time, she sneaked a glance at Anderson who was driving next to her, and then at the dying person in the back seat.
She reached out her hand and gently tugged at his sleeve.
"Hey, don't be angry. He's not a bad guy. He just wanted me to help him, but he didn't want to hurt me."
