Chapter 876 Shopping With Her
Jara's eyes lit up.
He looked up at her and asked, "Where? My body? Can you massage it for me?"
Emmeline was rendered speechless.
Her bright smile shifted unexpectedly. "In your dreams! Do it yourself!"
After that, she got up and walked out in a huff.
Jara had no idea she would be furious at first, and he didn't realize she had misunderstood him.
When he regained his senses, Emmeline had already come to the door. He realized that he had said something wrong and quickly corrected himself. "Hey, I didn't mean that. Don't overthink it. I..."
"Who cares what you mean."
"You better put aside your nasty ideas about me; otherwise... Hmph!" Emmeline turned back and warned.
She made a threatening gesture with her little fist. Then, she strode outside.
Jara felt very wronged.
He, too, felt helpless.
He sat there, baffled. How did this happen when she was the one who proposed the idea?
At the thought of that, he could not help but sigh. It was true that a woman's mind was like a needle in the sand. He would never be able to understand it, no matter how hard he tried.
Indeed, the ancients did not deceive him.
After, he turned his head and peered at the bottle of essential oil Emmeline had left him. His expression shifted, and he took it up to examine it.
He couldn't help but grin as he pictured Emmeline giving him a massage in his thoughts.
"Well... If she really wants to, it's not bad." he thought to himself.
On the other side.
Emmeline slowed down as soon as she reached the stairs after leaving angry.
Actually, she wasn't really furious. Instead, she just didn't know how to deal with Jara's misbehavior in her current state of mind.
In reality, she had already realized that she needed to focus on what was in front of her rather than what had happened in the past.
Understanding the facts was one thing; whether or not she could do it was another.
She had no way of entirely forgetting and ignoring the events of the past. She couldn't possibly be with him as if nothing had occurred.
Besides, Emmeline preferred their current state of the relationship.
They weren't lovers but friends who could rely on one other at any time.
She had always believed that she was lucky to have someone like this in this world.
As for the other things, she did not want to think about them for the time being.
Everything was just a matter of time.
Thinking of this, she could not help but feel relieved and took brisk steps downstairs.
Downstairs, Yunne was chatting with a servant who was wiping vases.
When she saw Emmeline coming down, she quickly ran over and greeted her with a smile, "Emmeline, you're here."
Emmeline responded with a nod.
After testing the bottle of essential oil and confirmed that there were no issues, Emmeline realized that she had overthought.
She had actually fallen asleep twice because of herself, and she suspected Yunne had tampered with the essential oil.
Since it was in the troubled times now, it was not wrong for her to be cautious.
She was right to be cautious, given the current state of affairs.
"Are you free today?" she asked Yunne.
Yunne was stunned and hastily shook her head. "I'm free."
"Since you're free, come with me," Emmeline suggested with a kind smile.
Yunne's eyes lighted up when she learned she was going out.
She quickly nodded and said, "Where are we going? Is there anything I need to bring?"
Emmeline answered politely, "No. We're just going to go shopping. Let's go."
As she spoke, she led Yunne out.
Uncle Poick swiftly arranged for a driver for her when he learned that they were heading out. He also had Quan arrange for a team of bodyguards to follow them on their journey.
He wasn't sure if it was a coincidence or if Quan had planned it. Rudy was one of the bodyguards that escorted them.
Emmeline noticed it and rejoiced in her heart. She chuckled at Yunne as she walked out.
Yunne lowered her head, her face flushed with shyness.
Emmeline silently giggled, yet she was envious of such a simple relationship.
It was pure and unpretentious.
No benefits were involved. If they liked one other, they could just get together.
Later, Emmeline let Yunne get in the same car with her, and the car drove away smoothly.
In fact, Emmeline's sudden desire to come out was not for any other reason than she was bored at home and wanted to go for a stroll.
It was unsafe to go out during this period of time. Besides, the situation was unlikely to be resolved anytime soon. However, she couldn't stay at home all the time just because of this.
Also, because of the earlier misunderstanding with Yunne, she believed that, even if Yunne was unaware, she had harmed Yunne's good intentions.
After such a long time of getting along with each other, Emmeline had really taken Yunne as a friend, so she felt even more guilty.
Hence, she wanted to see if there was anything fitting she could give to Yunne to make up for her guilt.
Of course, Yunne knew nothing about all these thoughts.
When they arrived at a nearby high-end shopping mall, Emmeline suggested, "Why don't you look around too? Let me know if you like anything. I'll get it for you."
Yunne was stunned and felt a little flattered.
"Get it for me? Really?"
"Of course. Have I ever lied to you?" Emmeline answered with a grin.
Yunne was completely stunned.
She smiled a little embarrassedly. "But I didn't do anything. Is this appropriate?"
Although she said so, there was clearly a gleam of temptation in her eyes.
After all, the shopping mall Emmeline took her to was the most upscale in the area, and everything offered there was of the greatest quality.
Even though she was given a high salary as a servant, she only had a small amount of money. Thus, she didn't usually come in and take a look around.
Not to mention buying the things inside.
But now, she had the opportunity to pick at will. She was, of course, tempted.
Emmeline noticed Yunne's nervousness and said, with a smile, "There's nothing wrong with it. Isn't it normal for me to give you something since you treat me as a sister?"
Upon hearing this, Yunne seemed to feel at ease.
She responded, smiling, "Then it's too worth it! I would have treated you better if I had known this earlier. Then I'd be able to buy more things!"
Of course, Emmeline knew Yunne was joking. Yunne was not someone who would take advantage of her, after all.
