Chapter 323 Making Her Embarrassed

Since both Clarissa and Lara were celebrities, the news of what happened to the Chapman family was spread like wildfire on the Internet, so a lot of the people present at the Levine's knew them.
Everyone was surprised when they heard that Lara was the one the Levine family had found.
But they dared not inquire about it as they were ashamed to do it. Besides, it was others' private affairs
At this moment, upon hearing what Clarissa had said, everyone couldn't help but look at each other. They all seemed to look forward to watching what was going to happen next.
Old Master Levine didn't know how to surf the Internet. He seldom hung out with the younger generation too, so he didn't know much about what was going on on the Internet.
Hearing their words, it raised the suspicion of Old Master Levine.
"Clarissa, you and Lara, did you know each other before?"
Clarissa turned around, looked at Old Master Levine with a smile, and nodded.
"Yeah, we not only know each other, but also have a long story between the two of us."
Old Master Levine was even more dumbfounded when he heard this.
However, it was not a right place to probe into it further. Gimmy frowned slightly and tipped Quinne the wink. Quinne immediately went forward to ease the situation.
"Haha, it's time to have dinner. Why don't we go to the dining hall first? Dad, the kitchen has prepared your favorite fish and chips today. You should eat more later."
Old Master Levine harrumphed. "Today is Lara's big day. Besides, there are so many guests here today. Why are you only paying attention to my preference? You should be considerate of them too."
Quinne quickly replied, "Yes, we've got everything ready for everyone. But we are most concerned about you. After all, you're the lucky star of our family!"
As Quinne was saying that, Gimmy and Gillee both helped Old Master Levine to his wheelchair together.
Old Master Levine was old and in poor health. Besides, his legs were injured so for the past two years, he had been sitting in a wheelchair and rarely walked around.
He glared at Quinne with dissatisfaction. "You were just trying to please me. I'm just an old man. What do you still need to pay attention to me?"
Quinne let out a cry and laughed. "Your longevity was a blessing to our family. Just an old man? With your elegance and magnanimity, I'm not bluffing, even the fresh meats out here are incomparable to you."
Old Master Levine was overwhelmed by her words. He asked curiously, "Fresh meats? How can you compare me with pork? I'm pretty sure I'm much better than it!"
Quinne could no longer hold back her laughter. "Grandpa, I can't save this anymore. You are way too old-fashioned."
Someone next to him quickly smiled and explained, "Old Master Levine, the term "fresh meat" does not refer to pork, it refers to those good-looking lads today."
Old Master Levine finally came to a sudden realization. He thought about it for a moment and also started to burst into laughter when he felt it was funny.
Just like this, the previous conversation was interrupted without any trace. Gimmy was ushering everyone to go to the dining hall together.
Although everyone was obviously interested in gossiping, they were too embarrassed to say anything more, so they went to the dining room together.
The atmosphere during the meal was not very harmonious and warm, but it went smoothly.
Although it was obvious that everyone had their own thoughts at the dinner table, at least in front of Old Master Levine, they all tacitly chose to keep their mouths shut and would not destroy the atmosphere in front of them.
After the meal, Lara originally intended to push Old Master Levine to the back garden for a walk, but he refused.
Old Master Levine patted her hand and said gently, "Our house is bustled with guests today. And those young people here are about the same age as you. You don't have to waste time here with an old man like me. Go hang out with them! Have fun."
A worried look appeared on Lara's face. "But you..."
"I'm fine. I'll ask Boyle to push me in my wheelchair for a walk."
As he spoke, he waved his hand to call for Boyle.
Seeing this, Lara let go of the wheelchair and let Boyle take her place.
Lara then turned to Boyle politely and said, "Thank you, Boyle. Grandpa, I'll be here to keep you company after a while."
Old Master Levine's eyes crinkled as he smiled. "Well, there is no hurry. You don't have to come to me if you're enjoying yourself. I'll go back to rest after strolling for a while."
Lara nodded and left.
Not far away, Clarissa stood there, looking at this scene as she pondered.
Anderson walked over from behind and stood behind her. He looked at the direction she was staring and asked, "What are you thinking about?"
Clarissa held her chin with her fingers and muttered, "I'm thinking the person who had asked Lara to pretend to be Vivian's missing daughter. Whose idea is it?"
Anderson smiled and said, "Uncle Gimmy is in charge of this matter. Other than him, who will do this?"
Clarissa shook her head.
"This matter is way too important. If it is only Uncle Gimmy's idea, although Old Master Levine may not be able to detect it, others will surely be able to perceive it, especially Uncle Gillee."
It was a known fact that Gimmy and Gillee had always been on bad terms with each other, although they appeared to be close to each other. By right, as the eldest son, if Old Master Levine had passed away, Gillee should be the next patriarch of the family.
However, he was just an ordinary man with mediocre ability. He was far less capable than the Gimmy. Hence, Gillee had always regarded Gimmy as the greatest rival and a thorn in his side.
"If this is really Uncle Gimmy's doing, it's impossible for him to get Uncle Gillee to cooperate with him. What's more, Uncle Gillee is able to put on such a good show. It will not bring him any good."
Anderson raised his eyebrows.
"So what do you think?"
"I have a feeling that everyone is putting on a show, except for Old Master Levine."
Anderson couldn't help but fall into deep thought. Clarissa turned around and glanced at him. It was at this moment that her gaze swept over his shoulder and saw a familiar figure walking towards them from not too far away.
"Miss Gabriela, you're back!"
Boyle was about to push Old Man Levine to the garden. He didn't expect to meet Gabriela, who had just returned from outside, at the door. He quickly greeted her with a smile.
Gabriela forced a smile and said, "Grandpa."
Compared with the kind and pleasant face when facing Lara before, Old Master Levine seemed to be unhappy when he saw Gabriela.
"Why did you come back so late? Don't you know today is the day Lara comes back? Did you do this on purpose to make her embarrassed?"
The expression on Gabriela's face was stiffened.
At this moment, Lara quickly ran over upon hearing the sound.
"Grandpa, stop blaming Gabriela."
She quickly stood in front of Gabriela and explained, "Gabriela's job is of special nature. Originally, she was not able to make it tonight. So it's not easy for her to make it here at this hour. Besides, I'm not embarrassed at all. Don't be angry."
The expression on Old Master Levine's face relaxed a little. He looked at Gabriela impatiently and said in a low voice, "Why are you still standing here? There are so many guests inside, don't you know how to greet them?"
Gabriela paused for a moment, then slightly lowered her head and said, "I know, grandpa. I'll go in first then."
After that, Gabriela lowered his head and hurried inside.
