Chapter 68 He Will Go

Clarissa's eyes darkened slightly.
After a while, she said in a deep voice, "Isn't that better? It has been five years since that happened. Originally, I didn't want to care about it anymore. But since they want to mention it and make me embarrassed deliberately, I shouldn't show them any mercy, should I?"
Lauren was a little stunned.
"Clarissa, have you thought of a way to deal with them?"
Clarissa smiled.
"You'll know it that day."
Time went by very quickly, and a week had passed in the blink of an eye.
It was Christmas in two days. In the president's office in the Jordan Group, Anderson looked at the scarf hanging on the shelf and smiled.
He called David and asked him to come in.
"Mr. Jordan, what can I do for you?"
Anderson asked, "Have you finished what I asked you to do?"
David was stunned for a moment and quickly understood what he meant.
He replied in a hurry, "It's all done."
"Okay, take me to see it after work."
"No problem."
After a pause, David suddenly thought of something and took out an invitation card from his pocket.
"Mr. Jordan, this is an invitation from Wildridge High School. The seventieth anniversary of this school will be held this weekend and they want to invite you to participate in it. Do you want to go?"
Anderson was slightly stunned.
He subconsciously felt that the name of this school sounded a little familiar.
Seeing this, David reminded him, "Mrs. Jordan used to study in this school."
It was only then that Anderson recalled that there seemed to be such a thing.
He asked with a calm expression, "Will she go there?"
"It's said that she will go."
"Then accept the invitation!"
"Okay."
In the evening, after Clarissa returned home and had a shower, she heard Anderson ask, "I heard that you're going to attend the school anniversary the day after tomorrow?"
Clarissa turned around and saw him sitting on the sofa. She nodded and asked, "Yes, what's wrong?"
Anderson's eyes were somewhat unhappy.
"It's Christmas the day after tomorrow."
Clarissa was stunned.
She pointed at the scarf hanging on the hanger blankly and said, "Haven't I already given you the gift?" Anderson almost wore the scarf every day this week.
Anderson was speechless.
He felt a little helpless.
But he didn't give up and said.
"Yes. I want to return the favor to you. How about having dinner with me that day?"
"No, I'll eat with Lauren. After eating, we have to attend the school anniversary!"
Anderson didn't know what to say.
He simply gave up inviting her.
On the weekend, Clarissa got up early.
She was in a hurry to attend the school anniversary. She had something to deal with in Starlight. She had to deal with it as soon as possible so that she could have time to attend the school anniversary at night.
After all the work was done, it was already three o'clock in the afternoon.
Lauren had called her several times.
She answered the phone helplessly and said, "I'm done with my work. I'm on my way there. Please wait for me, okay?"
Lauren said discontentedly, "I have been waiting for you for two hours. Miss Chapman, we're going to attend the school anniversary. Since you have promised to go, can you take it seriously? We should dress up not for the reputation of our school, but also for being more beautiful than other women, so can you arrive in advance?"
Clarissa laughed, "There're still three hours left!"
"My God!" Lauren seemed to have heard a joke, "I have to try dresses, put on make-up and arrange a new hair style. How can three hours be enough? I've been dressing up for two hours, okay?"
Clarissa smiled, "You're a superstar and you're going to perform tonight, while I'm just an audience sitting under the stage clapping for you, so I don't need to dress up so formally."
Lauren urged her impatiently, "Stop it. I don't care whether you want to dress up formally or not. Anyway, come here quickly. I've been waiting here for a long time."
"Okay, I'll be there right away."
When Clarissa arrived at Lauren's studio, she saw her sitting there. Her hairstyle had been arranged and she was putting on make-up.
Seeing that Clarissa had arrived, Lauren said, "Let's make it clear first. You must listen to me today! You should wear whatever I ask you to wear and put on make-up as my request. You are not allowed to refuse me and come up with your own opinion."
Clarissa got speechless.
Before she could agree, two stylists walked to her.
Lauren pointed at Clarissa and said to them.
"That's her, my best friend. You must dress her up well today. If someone is more beautiful than her tonight, it means that there is something wrong with your skills. I will fire all of you!"
The stylists agreed in a hurry.
Clarissa was a little confused.
"Lauren, what are you doing?"
Lauren smiled at her mysteriously.
"Clarissa! Do you think I'm good for you? Those mean b*tches look down on you and want to make fun of you, don't they? I won't let them do what they want! Tonight, Clarissa must be the most beautiful woman at the party!"
As she spoke, she reached out to tease Clarissa.
Clarissa couldn't help but laugh.
"Okay! I'll listen to you."
She knew that Lauren was kind to her. Moreover, she didn't intend to be a coward that night, so she did as what Lauren said.
Three hours later, both of them were done with their make-ups.
......
The stylist picked a sky-blue hand-made embroidered dress for Clarissa.
It was a tube long dress. There was soft gauze on the chest, neck and half of the sleeves. There were patterns of flowers which were embroidered by hand on the dress, and the small diamonds were sparkling with brilliant light on the dress. It was so beautiful.
The hemline was of the style of fishtail. From the chest to the thighs, the color of the dress of blue. But when it reached the calf, it became transparent gauze. From her tiny waist the beautiful dress cascaded to the ground. The embroideries were hand-made, and the dress looked so exquisite.
Clarissa's figure was very nice, but Lauren had never found that she would be so well-shaped.
This fishtail dress truly set off her figure.
Her figure was slim and sexy, and her back was slender and straight. The back of the dress was transparent, which made her look more sexier and charming.
In Lauren's words, Clarissa was gorgeous!
Clarissa looked at herself in the mirror, and she was also a little surprised.
It was said that the tailor made the man, and it was right.
The stylist picked a pair of silver high heels, a handbag and jewelries for her, which made her look more and more charming.
Lauren nodded and praised, "Clarissa, tonight you will be the most beautiful queen. I promise!"
Clarissa smiled.
She didn't care about whether she could be more beautiful than others or not. But she suddenly thought that since it was a school anniversary, and even she was invited, somebody should have been invited, too!
Those people hoped that she could live a miserable life and wanted to make fun of her, but how could she let them get what they wanted?
