Chapter 832 To Lure the Enemy

When Yunne saw that, she forced a smile.
"Didn't he find out that you are the initial target of the poisoning? Why did he suddenly think that it was you who poisoned Kayla?"
Upon hearing this, Emmeline pretended to have a headache and rubbed her forehead.
With that, she muttered, "Perhaps... he was blinded by love. Instead of believing the evidence in front of him, he chose to trust Kayla's one-sided argument. What can I do?"
As she spoke, she let out a sigh.
"I should've given up on him long ago. From the drowning incident and the falling incident, I should've known that he would blame me no matter what."
"So, the truth isn't everything. For him, the most important thing is to hurt my feelings."
Speaking of this, she smiled sadly.
"Well, I don't want to be entangled with him anymore. After I leave here, you should take good care of yourself. Kayla hates me, and since you have been serving me for such a long time, she may vent her anger on you when I am not around. However, if you can't stand it, you can quit and work somewhere else. The world is big, so I believe there must be a place for you."
At her words, Yunne was moved.
"Miss Illington..."
Right away, Emmeline waved her hand and interrupted, "You don't have to say anything more. I've made up my mind."
Having no choice, Yunne held back her feelings. Instead, she asked, "Where are you going then?"
After a moment of thought, Emmeline answered, "Someone wants to harm me, so it's not safe for me to go somewhere else. For now, I plan to go back to my hometown to stay for a while. Although Grandpa Farrington passed away, his house is still around, and I believe no one will stop me from staying there for a few days."
Hearing that, Yunne nodded her head.
"Okay, you must be careful."
"Alright." Emmeline nodded.
After that, they chatted for a while more before Yunne left reluctantly to pack Emmeline's things.
Four o'clock in the afternoon.
Emmeline was alone, sitting in a car that was driving out of the castle gate.
Of course, since she was not in good health right now, she couldn't leave on foot.
Therefore, Jara, who seemed to be particularly kind, arranged a car for her. Of course, this car was just an ordinary Audi.
As for the driver, normally, it would either be Quan or one of his best drivers.
However, this time, he only arranged an ordinary driver for her.
When Kayla saw the car slowly drove out of the castle gate, her lips curled into a smug smile.
Meanwhile, Jara's eyes darkened as he fixed his gaze in the direction of Emmeline's car. For a long time, he did not move.
Inside the car.
Emmeline was calm.
She and Jara had secretly agreed on this plan, so she was fearless.
To show that she would be leaving for good, she asked Yunne to pack everything that she usually used.
Through this poisoning incident, she knew that there must be a spy in the castle.
Therefore, the more realistic her acting was, the more they would buy it. Now that she was alone, she believed that it was their perfect chance to come at her.
Initially, Emmeline wanted to pretend that she and Jara had rekindled their love relationship and date openly during the Festival of Light.
This idea was in line with Jara's idea.
However, just when Jara pushed her back into the room, she changed her mind.
That time, she thought that instead of acting lovey-dovey under the street lights, leaving the castle alone after quarreling with Jara would be more convincing.
After all, Kayla's poisoning incident had provided them with the best reason to start an argument.
At that time, there were many people in Tower B. Although they had listened to Jara and the others analyzing the poisoning incident in the yard, they were still confused.
Besides, there was no definite answer on who was the culprit.
As long as the people sent by Jara found out some clues, he could fabricate the clues and made it seem like Emmeline was the suspect.
With that, he would have a reason to get mad with her. Then, she could take the chance to retort him and let him drive her away in a fit of anger.
In this way, the other party would only assume that she and Jara were on bad terms because of Kayla.
Thinking of this, Emmeline turned around and looked out of the window.
She believed that those people would definitely do something today.
For a long time, she had been waiting for them to come at her. So, they must not miss this opportunity!
After that, the car drove all the way out of the gate.
Feeling a little tired, Emmeline closed her eyes and rested for a while.
Later, eight o'clock in the evening, they had arrived at the town.
As soon as she opened her eyes, she found that the car stopped on the side of the road.
Then, the driver turned to look at her and asked, "Miss Illington, is this the place you mentioned?"
Hearing that, she turned her head and saw a small gray building before her eyes. It was Grandpa Farrington's residence.
With a nod, she replied, "Yes, it's here."
After that, she held on to the car door and was about to get off.
Seeing this, the driver quickly took her wheelchair from the trunk and let her sit before he unloaded her luggage.
Actually, even if she took all the things she needed, her things only took up two suitcases.
With a smile, she thanked the driver.
Looking at the ruined courtyard, he asked, "Do you want me to bring you in?"
Emmeline shook her head and declined, "It's okay. You can leave now. I'll go in by myself."
After hearing her words, the driver could not say anything more. Hence, he got in the car and left.
Emmeline did not enter the house immediately. On the contrary, she watched the car leave before she grabbed her suitcases beside her feet.
Just as she was about to turn around and enter the house, she heard a commotion from the opposite side of the street.
Right after that, everyone ran in the direction of the commotion.
For a moment, she froze and subconsciously stopped what she was doing.
Seeing that everyone on the street was running in that direction, she quickly grabbed a passerby and asked, "What happened?"
Because she had left the town for a long time, the passerby didn't recognize her. The only thing he knew was that she was a lady sitting in a wheelchair, and she seemed disabled.
Therefore, he kindly explained, "Someone recently dug out a dead body, so everyone is going there to have a look. I am afraid that it might scare you, so I think you'd better hurry home."
After finishing his piece, he pulled his sleeve and ran away.
Emmeline was dumbfounded.
Dead body? Corpses?
For some reason, she suddenly had a bad feeling.
Although she knew that it should have nothing to do with her, she put her luggage at the corner of the door and followed the crowd while operating her wheelchair.
