Chapter 53 You Can't Divorce
Looking at him, Clarissa was more or less convinced by him.
But when she thought of what she had heard, she still felt uncomfortable in her heart, as if there was a thorn stuck in her throat.
Her face darkened as she looked at him and said seriously, "Anderson, I don't know why you wanted to marry me, nor do I know how long our marriage can last. But I hope that if you really want to divorce me one day, you can inform me in advance. I don't mind if you fall in love with other women or want to divorce me, but I hate betrayal. Whether you're my husband or partner, you can't betray me. Do you understand?"
Anderson's face became serious immediately.
He looked at her coldly and said in a deep voice, "Don't you mind if I fall in love with another woman?"
Clarissa's heart trembled.
She didn't know why she felt this way.
She just thought that she and Anderson did not love each other, and they got married because of some other reasons. If he really met someone he loved one day, she didn't think she should stop him!
So, she nodded.
"You don't mind divorcing me, either?"
She nodded again.
Anderson suddenly sneered.
His gentle expression turned grim.
He got up and walked out.
Clarissa was a little stunned.
Before she came to sense, she saw him walking in with two red booklets in his hands.
They were their marriage certificates.
Clarissa's eyelid twitched. She didn't know what Anderson wanted to do, but she felt a little nervous subconsciously.
Then, Anderson walked to the table, took the lighter and suddenly lit the marriage certificates.
Clarissa opened her eyes wide in surprise.
"Anderson, what are you doing?"
She rushed to him, trying to grab the marriage certificate that had been lit.
But Anderson stopped her.
He held her hand and pressed her against the wall.
"Clarissa, I've told you that I only want one woman and only get married once in my life. Do you think I was kidding? Today I'll tell you that I'm serious! The marriage certificates have been burned. You can't divorce me! From now on, don't even think about it!"
Clarissa was speechless.
She just said it casually, and she didn't except Anderson to be so serious.
He grabbed her wrist so tightly that it hurt a little.
She twsited her wrist with difficulty and found that she could not break free. She could only compromise.
"Okay, I know. Can you let go of me first?"
Anderson did not let go of her.
He stared at her seriously and said in a deep voice, "Do you still want to divorce me now?"
Clarissa rolled her eyes.
"Mr. Jordan, it's you who cheated on me first. Aren't you ashamed to ask me this question?"
Only then did Anderson smile.
He thought of something and suddenly reached out to rub her hair and whispered, "Fool!"
Clarissa was confused.
Fortunately, he finally let go of her and explained, "She is a very important person in my life, and she is not my mistress."
Clarissa was suspicious.
Anderson smiled again when he saw her expression.
"You will know it when I take you back to Flaucford in a few days."
Clarissa's face changed.
Going back to Flaucford?
She opened her mouth and wanted to say something, but Anderson looked at her and stopped her.
He walked to her, took her hand and pressed her down on the bed. Then, he bent down and kissed her cheek.
"It's late now. Let's sleep. Good night!"
A night passed like this.
The next day, Clarissa took Evelyn to Freddie's office according to their appointment.
Lara and Erin also went over.
Seeing Clarissa, Lara was a little surprised.
"Clarissa, why are you here?"
Clarissa glanced at her indifferently and saw that she was wearing a white dress today. Her coat was also white and she looked like a proud princess.
Behind her were Erin and another girl.
She remembered that the girl was Lara's distant cousin, and her name seemed to be Lola Lane.
Lola started her career as an infamous online celebrity. She had signed with Lara's studio. Relying on her relationship with Lara, as well as her face features which were a little similar to Lara's, she had the title "Little Lara".
She got so many chances to act in the entertainment circle just because of this title.
Lara was happy to attend activities together with her, because Lola was inferior to her and could make her look more outstanding and beautiful.
Thinking of this, Clarissa sneered in her mind and said coldly, "Is this your office?"
She meant that since Lara could go there, she could go there, too.
Lara's face froze.
She felt really embarrassed after hearing Clarissa's words, because they were not at home and there were other people beside them.
However, she couldn't argue with Clarissa, because she was always known as a gentle lady in the entertainment circle. There were so many reporters here. If someone photographed her quarreling with others in public, how could she maintain her profile?
Compared with her, Clarissa was more at ease.
Anyway, she was not an actor, and she could do whatever she wanted.
Erin stepped forward and reached out her hand to Clarissa.
"Miss Chapman, long time no see."
Clarissa reached out to shake hands with her.
After all, Erin was a senior in the industry. Although she was not a person of excellent character, Clarissa should respect her in terms of seniority.
Freddie had arrived a long time ago. When he knew that they were all here, he asked his assistants to take them to the studio.
They walked into the studio and saw that the cameras had already been set up.
On the empty stage, two actors were performing, and they seemed to be here for auditions.
Freddie and a few other staff members were sitting at the auditorium and watching them.
They walked to Freddie. Lara greeted Freddie in a gentle voice first, "Director Jordan, we're here."
Only then did Freddie raise his head. He glanced at Lara and then looked at Clarissa, who was behind Lara.
He smiled and said, "You're all here. Have a seat first!"
As he spoke, he pointed at the seat next to her and asked the assistant director to give him a few scripts.
He handed the scripts to Lola and Evelyn and then said, "Read the scripts first. You can go to dress up later if you think there is no problem. Each of you perform a scene and I'll give my opinions."
Lola's expression changed when she heard this.
"Director Jordan, didn't you say that I can play this role? Why do I have to perform..."
Before she could finish her words, Erin looked at her with stern and cold eyes.
Freddie's face darkened.
"I promised Lara to give you a chance to audition, but I didn't say I would let you play this role directly. Although Erica is only the third supporting actress in the play, her part is also very important. If you don't have a good acting skill, don't think about playing this role!"
Hearing this, Lola's face turned pale as she clenched her fists in anger.
Lara was also a little surprised.
Although Freddie had not completely agreed to let Lola play this role when she discussed it with him, Lola was very possible to play this role.
After all, her family invested in this play. Freddie had prepared for this play for a few years, so he naturally didn't want any accident to happen at such a crucial juncture.
She turned her eyes slightly and looked at Clarissa who was behind her.
Suddenly, she understood something.
