Chapter 468 A Nourishing Meal
Clarissa was a little helpless. She sat there and thought for a moment, then couldn't help but laugh.
It was not that she hadn't seen anyone who tried to butter up to her before... but she had never seen someone who had tried so hard... It was really...
Lifting her hand to rub her forehead, Clarissa didn't say anything.
It didn't take long before Charmaine came out of the kitchen with the soup.
"Clarissa, this is specially prepared for you. It is a soup that supplies you with all the necessary nourishment. It is very good for strengthening your health. It is most suitable for pregnant women."
Clarissa looked at the bowl of soup in front of her. It was colorful, with a perfect combination of color, aroma, and taste. It looked really delicious.
She smiled at Charmaine and said, "Thank you. Thank you for your hard work."
"You're welcome. It's what I should do."
Looking at how hard Charmaine was trying to be close with her, Clarissa curled her lips and didn't say anything.
She turned around and called the servant next to her. "Go to the gym to see if Anderson has done with his workout. If he has done with it, call him over for lunch."
"Yes."
The maid left in a hurry. Unexpectedly, as soon as she reached the door, she let out a cry of surprise.
"Young Master Anderson."
Everyone turned around and saw Anderson, dressed in casual clothes, standing at the entrance of the dining hall.
The gym in the villa had its own bathroom. Anderson had changed into another white casual outfit, which was different from the one he wore when he went out in the morning.
His short hair was still a little damp, which made him look like he just came out of a shower.
Clarissa smiled and said, "You're back. Come and have a taste. Charmaine has been busy for a long time making this."
Anderson's gaze was indifferent. He swept his gaze over the dishes on the dining table and didn't say anything.
He nodded slightly before he walked to Clarissa's side naturally, and sat down on a chair.
When Charmaine saw this, she went into the kitchen again.
When she came out of the kitchen again, there was a bowl of soup in her hands. She said with a big smile, "Anderson, this is the seafood soup I specially prepared for you. There are oysters and herbs in it. I've put it aside since Clarissa can't have this. Come and have a taste of it."
Clarissa's eyelid twitched as she lifted her eyes to look in Charmaine's direction.
However, Charmaine didn't seem to notice Clarissa's gaze on her, she was staring straight at Anderson with her sparkling eyes.
Clarissa let out a chuckle.
Anderson frowned slightly and said in a low voice, "I don't like the taste of seafood. Put it away!"
After that, he didn't look at the soup at all. Instead, he asked someone to pour a glass of water for him.
Charmaine's smile froze for a second, before she turned to Clarissa for help.
She pursed her lips slightly and said piteously, "Clarissa, is it because I'm not good enough that Anderson is mad at me? I remember that he used to like seafood.""
Anderson was indeed fond of seafood. Charmaine had indeed catered to his liking.
Clarissa smiled weakly. After all, for the sake of Anderson's late mother and Old Madam Jordan, she did not embarrass her.
"Since she had already made it, you should have a taste!"
Anderson looked at her in surprise.
"You want me to drink?"
"Yeah? What's the matter?"
"Then I'll drink."
Clarissa was speechless.
Charmaine was speechless.
All of a sudden, love was in the air.
Charmaine's smile froze on her face. Fortunately, Anderson had listened to Clarissa. He picked up his spoon and took a few sips.
Charmaine finally felt a little relieved. The soup was beneficial for men. She cooked it for three hours!
Seeing that she was standing all the time, Clarissa said, "Stop standing there. Let's sit down and have lunch together."
Charmaine sat down on the opposite side obediently.
The atmosphere at the dining table was so-so, but because of Clarissa, it didn't get worse.
At least on the surface, it looked quite harmonious.
But Clarissa had a vague feeling that today's dishes seemed to be nourishing.
Well, every dish was filled with a lot of nourishing ingredients, including some shellfish.
Nevertheless, she did not think much of it. Clarissa just thought that it was specially prepared for her by Charmaine. After all, these dishes were indeed nourishing to pregnant women who were in their third trimester of the pregnancy.
Clarissa had been exercising regularly by walking for at least five kilometres a day. Even now her body was not in best condition, she still persisted every day.
So even if she had a big meal, she didn't have to worry that the baby would be over-weighed in the future.
The meal was almost going to end in a peaceful manner.
At this moment, Charmaine screamed all of a sudden.
"Anderson, you can't eat chili, can you? This dish is specially prepared for Clarissa. You'd better not eat it. You're allergic to chills!"
Anderson was about to grab some of the spicy food from the plate in front of Clarissa.
Clarissa had ordered the servant to serve the dish every meal. Her taste buds changed a little this month, as she craved for something spicy to eat every meal. She would only feel much better after her craving was satisfied.
Because this rule had lasted for more than a month. Some time ago, even Clarissa was at the hospital abroad, she had been specially ordered for this.
Now that she was back, of course, no one had forgotten about it. So even though lunch was prepared by Charmaine, the servants still served the spicy dish for Clarissa as usual.
But much to everyone's surprise, this would become an issue today,
Charmaine frowned as she moved the spicy dish to the corner of the table next to her, and put a plate of grilled fish in front of Anderson.
Then only Charmaine smiled at him with satisfaction, "Anderson, I thought you like fish? This is for you."
Clarissa was stunned for a moment. She couldn't help laughing out of anger as she watched the spicy dishes in front of her being moved away.
Anderson was allergic to chili? Why didn't she know?
During this time at home, Anderson would eat whatever that was provided to or requested by Clarissa. He had eaten the spicy dish so many times and was clearly not allergic to it.
She turned to look at Anderson and asked playfully, "Are you allergic to chili?"
Anderson frowned slightly and said in a low voice, "It happened many years ago. But I have somehow outgrown it."
"Oh? It seems that it is not a problem anymore."
Charmaine felt a little embarrassed in hindsight.
She forced a smile. "It's all right. I'm sorry, Clarissa. I didn't mean to make such a big fuss. It's just that I used to be very familiar with Anderson's dietary requirements, so I thought he was allergic to chili. Please don't take it to heart."
Clarissa's eyes became a little cold.
However, she still did not say anything, but there was a hint of mockery in her smile.
"No, you're acting like this only because you care for him. I'm glad that someone is so caring for him. Why would I mind?"
Although Clarissa said that, her tone was a little cold. After all, she was not as welcoming as before.
Obviously, Anderson was keenly aware of it. He frowned slightly.
Charmaine forced a smile. She was a shrewd person. Since Clarissa didn't tear into her on the spot, she couldn't say anything more
Since Clarissa had given an out to her, that was no way that she was going to refuse it.
