Chapter 695 A Little Abnormal

"Many people in this world love each other but can never be together. Just like Clint. Even though he has stayed by Sue's side for the past twenty-six years, she has never fallen in love with him."
"We should already consider ourselves lucky because we love each other and are married. Besides, we have never really separated, no matter how many difficulties we have faced in the past."
"There used to be a wedge in our hearts because of my indecision."
"Let me now tell you what's on my mind. I hope we can let go of the grudge and really connect. Charlotte, will you forgive me?"
Buckley looked at her affectionately after he finished speaking and looked forward to her answer.
Charlotte's mood was complicated.
There was a sense of being moved, as well as bitterness and mixed feelings.
Her eyes couldn't help but get watery. She couldn't stop crying even before she looked at him.
As soon as Buckley saw her weeping, his heart ached.
In a panic, he hurriedly pulled out a tissue to wipe her tears.
"My dear, I'm sorry. It's all my fault. I didn't know you've suffered so much over the years. I thought that things would go away with time..."
The more he spoke, the more he blamed himself.
He felt he had failed to fulfill his obligations as a husband for all these years.
After all, he had vowed to love and care for her, and he would not allow her to suffer any hardship in her life.
But in fact, he didn't do as he promised.
On the other hand, Charlotte wiped her eyes with a tissue as she sobbed.
After hearing what he said, the bitterness and grievances of so many years seemed to be released all at once.
She eventually managed to keep her tears at bay.
"Okay, I'm good now," she said in a low voice.
Buckley looked at her with anxiety in his eyes.
Just as Charlotte turned to look at him, their eyes met. She could clearly see the sincerity and worry in his eyes.
Somehow, she felt touched.
She suddenly smiled faintly.
"Was what you just said true?"
Buckley quickly nodded and lifted his hand. "I swear, it's true."
Charlotte lowered her gaze and remained silent for a few seconds.
"Alright, I'll forgive you," she said after a while.
As soon as she said that, Buckley's eyes widened in disbelief.
Soon after, a rare expression of joy appeared on his face.
He rushed forward, held Charlotte in his arms, and hugged her tightly.
Following that, he said with passion and excitement, "Honey, thank you."
His motion astounded Charlotte. She quickly held him up once she regained her senses.
She couldn't help but reprimand, "What are you doing? Do you want to die? Return to your seat."
Buckley's wounds had not yet healed. The doctor had constantly warned him not to move too much. Otherwise, the wound might worsen and split open.
Therefore, even though Buckley was at home for self-cultivation during this period, his family was very cautious.
Not to mention going about, Charlotte even assisted him in changing his clothes every day.
She was afraid that he would injure himself if he changed it on his own.
But now, regardless of his injury, Buckley was so excited that he threw himself at her.
Charlotte felt happy and distressed at the same time because she was afraid that his wound would exacerbate.
And then, Buckley let her go and sat back down in his wheelchair. He said with a smile, "I'm fine. Don't worry."
"Are you a doctor now? How do you know it's fine?" Charlotte glared at him.
Being scolded by her, Buckley rubbed his nose and did not dare to talk.
Soon after, Charlotte ordered the servant, "Hurry up and push Buckley back to his room. Then call the doctor to come over."
The servant agreed and left.
As soon as Buckley was pushed back to his room, the doctor arrived as well.
The doctor gently opened the gauze and examined the wound. He found that, despite Buckley's large movement at the time, it did not tear the wound.
Upon seeing that, Buckley heaved a sigh of relief.
Then he turned to Charlotte and grinned, "Look, I'm fine! You are just overly concerned."
Charlotte glared at him and said nothing. Instead, she let the servant send the doctor out.
After the chaos, they were no longer in the mood to continue basking in the sun outside.
Seeing that it was getting late, Charlotte went to the kitchen to prepare for today's lunch.
Normally, she would not cook by herself, but she was in a good mood today. Plus, her cooking skills were excellent.
Buckley looked at her back as she walked into the kitchen, and a joyful smile soon appeared on his face.
In the evening, Roland and Marty were summoned for dinner. Just as they stepped into the house, they felt that the mood in the house was different today.
Normally, when they returned, Buckley would be reading newspapers on the sofa in the living room, while Charlotte would do her skincare routine upstairs.
If not, Charlotte would sit on the sofa in the living room and watch TV while Buckley read the newspaper in his study room.
In short, although they would not quarrel, they would never share a common space like today.
However, Things were different today. They not only stayed in the same space, but they also sat on the sofa and watched TV together.
Marty took a peek at the TV show and was surprised to discover that it was a romantic movie.
Then, as he looked over at their father hugging their mother so romantically, he thought the world had changed.
"Roland, quickly pinch me to see if I'm dreaming."
Without any hesitation, Roland gave him a hard pinch.
"Ouch!"
Marty was in so much pain that he jumped up all of a sudden.
"Roland! You actually pinched me!"
Roland glanced at him indifferently. "Didn't you ask me to do so?"
Marty was left speechless.
D*mn it!
Later, he waved his hand and said, "Forget about it. That's not important anyway."
While speaking, he softly pointed to the two figures on the sofa and whispered, "Look at them! Aren't things a little abnormal today?"
Roland's expression remained unchanged. He said as he walked in, "What's the big deal? Everything seems normal."
After he saying that, he had already stepped into the house.
Marty hurriedly yelled, "Hey, Roland, don't..."
It was, however, too late. Charlotte and Buckley had already heard their conversations.
When Charlotte looked up and saw them approaching, she exclaimed, "You guys are back! Get your hands washed and ready for dinner."
Roland nodded lightly and turned around, walking to the bathroom.
