Chapter 130 Go Home In The Middle Of The Night
Clarissa cleared her throat and said with an apologetic smile, "I'm sorry. I've been busy recently..."
"Ha!" Anderson sneered on the phone.
Hearing this, Clarissa knew that this reason did not work.
She changed the topic in a hurry and said, "Well, I planned to go home today. I was about to leave when you called me!"
Anderson said in a mocking tone, "Is that so?"
"Well... yeah!"
"Ha... good. If you don't get home in half an hour, you will be at your own risk."
After speaking, he actually hung up directly.
Clarissa looked at the dark screen, and felt somewhat speechless.
How could Anderson be so domineering!
Half an hour? It took more than 20 minutes to drive to Estdal Manor from here, so she had to leave right away.
She looked at the desk piled high with papers in front of her...
Clarissa rubbed the place between her eyebrows tiredly and sighed.
Forget it. Do it tomorrow!
Thinking of this, she turned off the computer, packed up her things, and stood up.
As soon as she moved, she realized that she had been sitting here for a whole afternoon, and she even had the dinner on the desk.
So when she stood up, she felt that her entire back was stiff and painful.
Clarissa frowned, tapped on her back, and walked out with her bag.
Many people stayed to work overtime because it was relatively busy in the company these days. Although it is already nine o'clock at night, the office was still brightly lit. Everyone was sitting in front of the computer and working hard.
When Clarissa went out and saw this scene, she was somewhat touched.
They were different from her. The company was her own business, but it was just a job for them.
Clarissa clapped her hands. Everyone was attracted by the sound and looked over.
"Attention! You have been busy for so many days. It is late now, so let's go back and rest early after get off work! If you have unfinished work, do it tomorrow!"
A great cheer went up from the office.
"Yeah! I can finally get off work. It's so nice!"
Clarissa smiled and then left.
When she arrived at Estdal Manor, it was exactly half an hour later.
She got out of the car and looked inside with some guilty conscience. Realizing that Anderson was not in the living room, she quickly walked into the house on tiptoe.
Pattie happened to come in from outside. Seeing Clarissa standing at the door and changing shoes, she said in pleasantly surprise, "Mrs. Jordan, you are back!"
Clarissa smiled awkwardly, "Yeah. Well... is Anderson at home?"
"Mr. Jordan is in the study upstairs."
Pattie suddenly paused, and then approached her mysteriously and said, "Mrs. Jordan, you should be careful when you go up. Mr. Jordan seems to be in a bad mood these days. He even lost his temper at home tonight, and he didn't eat dinner."
"What?"
Clarissa was a little surprised.
As far as she knew, although Anderson had a bad temper, he rarely got angry, let alone lose temper over the servants at home.
He was an extremely cultured and restrained person. Moreover, people usually didn't dare offend him because of his identity and aura.
So everyone treated him cautiously, and he had never been harsh to the servants.
What was going on that day?
Clarissa was a little confused. Pattie added, "I'm afraid that he will be hungry at night and have a stomachache, so I have been heating up his favorite seafood porridge in the kitchen. They are all relatively light foods. If he is in a better mood later, persuade him to come down and eat some! He works so hard, and how could he not have dinner?"
Clarissa nodded, "Okay, I see. I will persuade him."
As she said this, she changed her shoes, and walked in.
There was no one in the bedroom upstairs. Clarissa loosened the hair that had been tied for a day to relax the scalp that had been tense for a long time. Then she changed into a set of usual clothes before going to the study.
The light in the study was dim, and an orange floor lamp was glinting with warm light.
A recliner was placed near the French window. At this moment, Anderson was leaning on the recliner with his slender legs crossed, and he was reading a book in his hand quietly.
His figure was tall and elegant. The floor lamp cast a long shadow on his chiselled face, setting off his original strongly defined face more charming.
Clarissa walked to him quietly.
Her footsteps were very light. But for some reason, she was discovered by him when she was about to walk behind him.
"You finally come back?"
Clarissa was stunned for a moment and looked around, but she did not see anything that could reflect light like a mirror.
But he obviously didn't look back, and her footsteps were so light. She stepped on the thick soft carpet and made no sound. How did he find her?
Originally, she wanted to scare him, but she was caught upright on the spot. Clarissa was a bit embarrassed.
She touched her nose and smiled awkwardly.
"Well... Didn't you let me come back?"
Anderson turned around.
Under the light, his face was as white as jade, and his facial features were sharp-featured. His dark eyes were calm and steady, and there was no emotion in his eyes.
Being looked at by him, Clarissa felt flustered for no reason and lost her confidence.
She lowered her eyes with a guilty conscience. Being looked at by his expressionless eyes, she stood there like a child who had made a mistake and was at a loss.
After a long while, Anderson said.
"Come here."
Clarissa was stunned and looked at him with confusion, but she walked to him obediently.
As soon as she approached him, he suddenly grabbed her wrist and she let out a cry of surprise. When she reacted, she had sat on his lap.
"What are you doing?"
This posture was too ambiguous, and she subconsciously wanted to resist.
Unexpectedly, Anderson held her thin and soft waist, saying in a deep voice, "Don't move!"
Clarissa's body froze, and she did not dare move again.
Anderson took a closer look at her face. Her delicate face looked a little tired because she had been tired these days.
Her beautiful eyes were no longer as clear as they used to be, and they were somewhat bloodshot. There were even dark eye circles under her eyes.
Being stared at by him, Clarissa felt uncomfortable all over and twisted her body awkwardly, "What are you looking at?"
Anderson said blandly, "As your husband, I support your career because that is what you like. I don't want you to have no soul and dreams."
"But this does not mean that I allow you to put all your efforts on it regardless of your health. Mrs. Jordan, you can have your own dreams, but I don't need a wife who is a model worker. Understand? "
He raised his hand to pinch her chin, forcing her to raise her face and look at him.
