Chapter 874 Feeling Suspicious
After hearing that, Emmeline couldn't help but chuckle.
However, with some thought, she shook her head.
"That won't do. You will still have to live your own life. This is nothing but a job. How can you bet your whole life on a job?"
Her words made Yunne quiet down.
Under the night light, Yunne's expression was calm and indifferent as if there was nothing for her to worry about. Somehow, she seemed totally different from her usual lively and youthful self.
At that moment, Emmeline was lying on the summer chair with her eyes closed, so she didn't notice the change in Yunne's expression.
Thus, she kept on saying, "Eventually, I still hope that you will be happy and find someone who likes you as well. Get married, have a baby, and live a normal happy life. This is the happiest thing a person can hope for."
However, Yunne looked at her and asked suddenly, "WIll I be happy if I live an ordinary life?"
Raising her eyebrows, Emmeline slightly opened one of her eyes and said, "Of course."
Hearing that, Yunne smiled but did not speak.
After that, Emmeline closed her eyes and continued to enjoy the massage while she added. "Yunne, you haven't experienced the extraordinary, so you don't appreciate the greatness and rarity of an ordinary life."
"Those like us, who live on the edge every day, may not know if we'd be alive tomorrow. Perhaps we may never have the chance to enjoy the happiness like you can for the rest of our lives."
"Every night, even if the security outside is heavily guarded, when you fall asleep, you are always alert. You are afraid that if you get distracted, someone may put a knife to your throat."
"After all, everyone is afraid of death. Even though so many years have passed, I can't say I've see through death. If I can live, I don't want to die early too."
"But it's exactly because we don't want to die, and because we are afraid of death, people like us live in fear every day."
"Once fear takes up most of your life, the wealth and status won't mean anything to you anymore."
"Yunne, I really hope that you can be happy. Don't be like me. I had a chance but I missed it. In the end, I don't even have a place to go."
As she spoke, her voice faded.
Yunne continued to massage her. Her force was gentle, and the essential oil on her fingertips exuded a faint pleasant fragrance as if it was drifted from afar. It had a relaxation effect, which made Emmeline calmed down completely.
Lowering her eyes, Yunne looked at the woman in front of her.
She seemed to have fallen asleep as she lay there with her eyes closed.
Taking away Emmeline's defense, she seemed frail and looked just like any ordinary girl as if she was a gentle and harmless angel.
Angel...
Yunne murmured the word silently and suddenly, she felt that it was ironic.
She remembered that a long time ago, on a hot summer afternoon, when Emmeline was feeling really thirsty, Yunne made her lemon tea without her instruction. Seeing that, Emmeline was so happy that she held Yunne's face and said that she was really her little angel.
But, Yunne wondered if angels like herself really existed.
Somehow, her eyes suddenly turned red, and her eyes were filled with sadness and pain.
Half an hour later, Emmeline woke up.
When she woke up, the stars were all over the sky. The breeze came from the lake, blowing on her face and body, making her feel comfortable and cool.
Unknowingly, she was covered in a thin blanket. When she turned her head, she found that Yunne was no longer there.
Picking up the phone, she looked at the time and realized it had been more than an hour since she lay here.
Slightly triggering her anxiety, she knitted her eyebrows.
What was going on with her?
A moment ago, she was clearly fully awake. How could she fall asleep all of a sudden?
With that thought in mind, Emmeline frowned and sat up.
At this moment, Yunne happened to come out into the balcony and realized that Emmeline was awake. Surprised, she walked over quickly.
"Emmeline, you're awake!"
Nodding her head as she sat up, Emmeline scratched her head and said, "Why did I fall asleep again?"
Yunne took the blanket from her hand and replied with a smile, "Maybe you're really too tired. Anyway, I just took the equipment into the room. I thought I will only be away for just a moment, and I didn't expect that you would wake up."
Hearing that, Emmeline didn't speak.
After Yunne put everything away, she followed Emmeline back into her room.
By this time, it was already very late.
Yunne was preparing the bath for Emmeline when she walked in with her clothes. Looking at the flower petals in the bathtub, she suddenly turned around and asked, "Yunne, what kind of essential oil that you used for the massage earlier?"
Stunned, Yunne looked up at her and answered with a smile, "It's the flower oil that I refined myself."
"Can you show it to me?"
Emmeline asked. After a pause, she explained, "I feel like it's pretty useful. I'll give it to Jara so he can try it out. Ever since his injury, he can't sleep well at night."
There was no unusual expression on Yunne's face, as she smiled and replied. "Of course, I'll go get it."
Emmeline nodded, then only she turned around and walked into the bathroom.
By the time she came out of the bathroom, Yunne had already brought her the oil.
Handing a bottle of flower oil to her, Yunne uttered. "This is a new bottle, and it's not been opened. You can try it on Mr. Holland."
As she spoke, she seemed to be a little embarrassed and continued with a smile, "However, I refined it myself, using the old method that I learned in the countryside, so it may not be very pure. I don't know if Mr. Holland will mind."
Forcing a smile, Emmeline replied, "He won't. If he dares to complain about it, I won't share it with him."
Yunne gave a smile, then said, "Okay."
After Emmeline nodded at her reply, she realized it was getting late. She didn't want to bother Yunne anymore and wanted to let her get some rest. As for herself, she was also lying in bed, ready to sleep.
As soon as Yunne left, she lay alone on the bed quietly.
Because the moonlight was very bright tonight, and she could see the stars, she didn't close the window.
In the middle of the night, the breeze blew in from the lake, adding a hint of coolness to the room. From the bed, she could faintly see some stars.
Emmeline turned on the lamp, as she took out the bottle of essential oil, and looked at it carefully under the lamp.
What she saw was indeed a bottle of ordinary essential oil. At least, from the outside, there was nothing unusual about it.
Then she frowned slightly.
Twice after the massage, she had fallen asleep unconsciously.
Was this really a coincidence? Was it just because she was too tired or too comfortable?
Emmeline didn't know either.
But at a time like this, she had to be more careful, so she immediately took out her mobile phone and sent a text message to Jara.
Meanwhile, Jara was in the bedroom upstairs.
