Chapter 1045 Buying Presents

Upon receiving the compliment, Anderson became humble.
"You're welcome. We're a family. If you're happy Clarissa will be happy. If Clarissa is happy, then I'm happy."
Quietly, he threw out a subtle affection toward Clarissa.
Sierra couldn't help but laugh when she saw this.
That night, Robert tossed around on the bed for a whole night, but he couldn't fall asleep.
He came to the desert when he was ten years old. It had been more than 30 years since then, and this place had already become his hometown. It was not easy for him to leave this place.
However, Anderson's request was simply too tempting. On top of that, Sierra...
Alas, he was not comfortable for Sierra to go to Ascijan alone.
After all, Sierra had never left his side in the past few years.
She had not completely recovered either. Although she became much better at communicating with strangers than before, in truth, her mood was still very unstable.
Most of the time, when there were a lot of people, she would feel nervous.
At that time, other than him, Sierra wouldn't trust anyone else at all.
So after thinking about it for a long time, Robert still felt worried.
The next morning, he came out of the room with two dark circle around his eyes. As soon as he saw Anderson, he uttered with a cold face, "I promise to go to Ascijan."
At the moment, Anderson was sitting on the couch, with Marf on his lap, teaching him to use the computer.
Upon hearing that, he looked up at Robert and replied with a smile, "You've made up your mind? You won't regret it?"
Robert was in a bad mood, so his tone made him even more upset.
Hence, he glared at him. "I've never regretted what I've promised."
After that, he left angrily without having breakfast.
In that moment, Sierra happened to walk out from the dining hall. When she saw that Robert had taken his keys and was about to leave, she asked anxiously, "Hey, it's time for breakfast. Where are you going?"
"To the lab," Robert replied without turning his head.
Sierra furrowed as she stomped her feet. "This man. He is being too over! It's breakfast time. Why is he still going to the lab?"
In the meantime, Clarissa walked over to her with a smile and held her shoulder. "Mom, Mr. Lane is going to the lab to arrange for the move. Don't worry."
In truth, Sierra already knew that he would agree, but when she heard it, she couldn't help but reveal a trace of joy on her face.
She and Clarissa were separated for ten years. Now that they met again, she naturally wanted to stay with Clarissa.
However, she did not want to be separated from Robert. After all, for her, Robert had not only given her kindness, but also ten years of unconditional love.
However, it was impossible to have the best of both worlds. How often would that happen in a lifetime?
So she also knew that it was definitely not easy for Robert to give up the place where grew up, to give up the place where he had worked hard for so many years, and to give up the laboratory that he built.
If this happened to anyone else, they would be reluctant to part with it as well.
But in the end, Robert agreed because of her.
This was his own choice, to sacrifice his wishes and to fulfill what she wanted to do.
It would be a lie if Sierra said she wasn't moved.
However, in front of Clarissa and Anderson, she couldn't bring herself to reveal it.
She could only wipe the corner of her eyes and force a smile. "I know. Okay, we don't need to wait for him. Let's eat first. After you finish eating, don't you still have to buy something? I'll go with you later."
Clarissa nodded.
Then, they went to the dining room for breakfast.
Since it was the afternoon's flight, they could still go out to take care of matters in the morning. After eating, Anderson stayed at home to take care of the children while Clarissa and Sierra went out to buy what they needed.
Originally, Anderson was worried for the two of them to go out.
However, Clarissa wanted to buy gifts for the company's employees because when she came out this time, everything in the company was handed over to Millie and the others to manage.
So she thought that since she was going back, it would be good to bring some souvenirs for the employees, and also for her family too.
These gifts were all sent back directly after they bought them, so there was no need for them to carry them back by themselves. Hence, it was an easy task.
But when it came to choosing gifts, Clarissa had to choose them herself.
No matter how careful Anderson was, he was still a man.
In Starlight Entertainment Company, most employees were women. She was afraid that Anderson would not be able to get what they liked.
Therefore, this matter had to be done by himself.
If they bring the children out together, there would be too many people, and it would be too conspicuous and troublesome.
So Clarissa suggested that since it was not a big deal, she could just go with Sierra.
On the other hand, Anderson stayed at home to take care of the children.
Picking a gift would only take up to an hour at most. The chauffeur would bring them along, so there should not be any problems.
Furthermore, although Sierra seldom left the house, after all, she had been living here for ten years. Many locals recognized her and knew that she was Robert's wife.
With his influence in the local area, it would be hard for anything to happen to them.
When Anderson thought of that, he could only listen to them and let them go out on their own.
Clarissa and Sierra got in a car and went to the largest shopping mall in the area.
A lot of things sold in this mall were local custom-made products that had their own uniqueness.
Soon, Clarissa found a boutique shop, and selected one of each kind. She asked someone to pack them up and gave them the  address before leaving.
When they walked out of the shopping mall, Sierra suddenly suggested. "Hey, I remember that across the street, there's a restaurant that serves delicious and authentic food. Since, we're about to leave, why don't we buy some and bring them back home for lunch?"
Clarissa understood that she had lived here for ten years. Although she said that she was not used to it, in fact, more or less, she had some memories here.
Now that she was about to leave, she would like to go over there and buy some local food so she could eat it for the last time before leaving.
Therefore, Clarissa nodded.
Because it was the time to go shopping, it was not snowing today. The weather was bright and the sun was out. In addition, the temperature was not as hot as before.
It felt as warm as the sun on a winter day, so there were many pedestrians on the streets.
After all, they were just crossing the street. Clarissa felt that it was troublesome to drive over, so she asked the driver to park the car here and wait for them.
After they ordered food in the restaurant, they could just walk back on their own.
Seeing this, the driver did not force her and sat in the car to wait.
Taking her hand, Sierra smiled as she walked. "You might not believe me. I've been here for ten years, and I can count the number of times I come out. I've heard about this local restaurant's dishes before, but I've never had the chance to try it. I've been thinking about coming back next time, but now that I think about it, there's no next time.
In response, Clarissa smiled and said, "It's hard to say. If you miss this place in the future, we can still accompany you to come back and have a vacation here."
