Chapter 963 Found a Jade Pendant
This batch of jade stones that belonged to Tobias was indeed dug up in a newly found mine. For the time being, no one knew about it, but since the stones had been unearthed, it was only about time that people would find out about it.
Therefore, he had been worrying about this for quite a while. Of course, he was reluctant to share this hard-won mine, but he also knew that he could not afford to manage such a large piece of land by himself. So, just when he was trying to solve the problem, Chantel came to him.
Hence, after hesitating for a moment, he asked, "Miss Jordan, may I ask if this your personal proposal or the family's?"
Upon hearing that, Chantel frowned. "What's the difference? What's wrong? You don't believe me or you don't believe my family?"
Tobias smiled awkwardly. "It's not that I don't believe you, but... it's a big deal after all, and it takes a lot of money to invest in mines. Miss Jordan, I know you have the money, but for a decision this big, I personally think that you need..."
Before he could finish his sentence, Chantel sneered. "I finally understand what you mean. You are afraid that I have not enough money and my family does not support me in doing this?"
As she spoke, she opened her handbag, and took out a cheque, placing it on the table.
"Mr. Jenkins, how about this? Tell me where your mine is, then this 20 million dollar cheque will be the deposit. Tell me how much it will cost for the investment. If I take a fancy in the mine after I have a chance to look at it, I will wire the rest of the money to your."
At that moment, Tobias' expression became even more awkward as he immediately pushed the cheque back to her.
"Miss Jordan, you've misunderstood me. That's not what I meant."
With a pause, he explained in a low voice. "Well, since you are serious to discuss about a collaboration, I might as well tell you the truth. I did find a huge and rich piece of land that has a good market value, but please forgive me that I can't tell you the exact location now.
For this mine, I am really looking to collaborate with someone capable. If you really want to invest in it, you will need at least 15 billion. Any number that is lower will not be enough to cover for the both of us. This is not a small amount. Why don't you think about it and tell me your decision when you are ready?"
When Chantel heard that number, she knitted her brows. "15 billion? That much?"
"That's right. That's only half of it, and I will be paying the other half. By then, we'll split the profits by 50-50. Of course, if it's inconvenient for you in terms of the mining process, I'll take care of it for you."
After a moment of hesitation, Chantel replied, "How about this, I will go back and ask first, and I will come to you after I have gathered enough money?"
In response, Tobias smiled happily. "Very good. Thank you Miss Jordan."
After that, Chantel stood up. "In this case, I shall leave first."
"Miss Jordan, I'll see you off."
Waving her hand, Chantel rejected. "It's alright. I have to go to the bathroom. You don't need to send me, I know the way."
As she spoke straightforwardly, Tobias decided to listen to her and kindly reminded her the way to the restroom. "MIss Jordan, the VIP restroom is on the left. Don't go to the wrong side."
Chantel waved her hand, indicating that she knew the way.
After she left, Sierra, who had remained silent the entire time, said with a smile, "Miss Jordan... is actually quite straightforward and cute."
Turning around, Tobias wiped away the cold sweat on his forehead. He shook his head and replied, "Cute? She doesn't have a good reputation in Flaucford. If you say it politely, she's straightforward. In other words, she is a savage. It's not her first time to force someone into making a deal. Clearly, she is very good at it."
Sierra couldn't help but laugh when she saw him complaining. "Anyway, at least she is not coming at you out of malice. So it's fine."
Tobias nodded in agreement. "That's true."
As he spoke, a thought came to his mind as he looked up at them.
"By the way, you've been wandering here for so long. Are you tired? Would you like me to send you back to the manor to take a rest?"
Hearing that, Sierra stood up. "There's no need for that, Tobias. Robert and I just came over from that direction this morning. We know the way back."
Robert also added. "Yes, we can go back by ourselves. You are still very busy here. You should go ahead and don't worry about us."
When Tobias heard that, he did not force them anymore and said, "Alright, be careful on your way then."
The two nodded and left.
After they left, Tobias was just about to leave as well when he bumped into Chantel again as she was coming out of the restroom.
At that moment, he felt helpless, but he couldn't pretend to not see her, so he put on a smile and stepped forward to greet her.
"Miss Jordan, is there anything else I can do for you?"
Then, Chantel said proudly, "Nothing. I just wanted to tell you that before I make a decision, you are not allowed to tell others about the mine. You are also not allowed to collaborate with others until you hear from me, understand?"
Immediately, Tobias responded with a nod and replied, "Understood."
Only then did Chantel utter. "Okay then. I'll be leaving now."
"Take care, Miss Jordan."
As Chantel finally left, Tobias let out a sigh of relief.
In the meantime, when Chantel walked to the exit, she noticed she had stepped on something hard on the floor. Frowning, she moved her feet to take a look, only to see a translucent jade pendant with a lotus design.
Squatting down, she picked up the jade pendant and looked at it carefully.
The jade pendant was smooth and shiny, and its carving was exquisite and alive. At first glance, one could tell that it was not an ordinary product.
But who did it belong to? How did it end up here?
Just as she was thinking about it, she heard a sweet voice.
"Dear Chantel, why didn't you call me when you came out? I have been looking for you."
In the meantime, Micah, who had been waiting for her outside just now, ran over and grabbed her arm, acting coquettish.
Chantel was feeling impatient when Micah suddenly saw the jade pendant on her hand and his eyes lit up instantly. "Chantel, this jade pendant is so beautiful. Is it for me?"
She glanced at him coldly. "You wish."
After that, she simply put it in her bag and strode away.
Stunned, Micah quickly followed behind and whined.
"Chantel, don't walk too fast. Wait for me!"
After Chantel went out, she stepped into the car and subsequently started the engine. When she saw Micah following her, she said helplessly, "I have something to do now. Take a taxi home. I will transfer your tip for hanging out with me later today. That's all. Bye."
As soon as she finished her sentence, she drove away directly.
Meanwhile, Micah was left alone on the road. Seeing that, he widened his eyes in shock as he couldn't believe what just happened.
But in the end, he snorted angrily and went home on his own.
In truth, there was a reason why Chantel refused to take him with her.
She had thought about it carefully. Even after selling all of her asset, and she could even sell herself, she would not be able to gather 15 billion dollars.
But, as such a good opportunity was placed in front of her, she was reluctant to give up.
Therefore, she had to find a way to gather the money.
