Chapter 568 Focused on the Wrong Thing

Confused for a moment, Evelyn looked at Carrie subconsciously and asked, "What happened outside?"
Carrie was also a little confused. "I don't know."
However, she quickly came to her senses and said immediately, "Evelyn, please wait here for a moment. I'll go out and have a look."
After that, she walked out quickly.
When Carrie came in again, ten minutes had passed.
As soon as she came in, she closed the door sneakily, with a strange look on her face.
Confused, Evelyn asked, "What's going on outside?"
Walking to her sneakily, Carrie bent over slightly, and said with a suppressed voice, "Evelyn, guess who I just saw outside?"
Seeing that she was trying to keep her guessing, Evelyn knew it was probably someone she knew. Hence, she asked curiously, "Who is it?"
"Mr. Blaine."
What?
Upon hearing that, Evelyn froze and the cup of tea she had held up was left hanging in the air. Her mind went blank in an instant.
Just then, the door was suddenly kicked open by someone.
Both of them were shocked.
The moment she looked up, she saw Marty standing there with a gloomy face.
Behind him was Melodie, with a face full of grievance and tear stains on her flushed face.
Obviously, the noise outside earlier was caused by Melodie, who kept pestering Marty.
When Evelyn saw Melodie, she looked a little embarrassed and smiled dryly. After she greeted Melodie, she looked away guiltily.
Sh*t! Sh*t!
What was he trying to do?
Knowing that she had received Melodie's money, and had promised to not get in her way, he still brought the person to her directly.
Was he trying to make her life difficult by making Melodie hate her?
Evelyn was speechless, but she didn't dare to say anything.
As for Melodie, when she noticed the woman sitting in the private room was Evelyn, the colour on her face disappear instantly and her face was as pale as paper.
"You, how could you..."
Feeling helpless, Evelyn could only wave at her with a smile.
"Miss Tuscan, Mr. Blaine, what a coincidence! Are you dining here too?"
She purposely wanted to disentangle herself from Marty's relationship.
However, how would Marty do as she wish?
Furthermore, he was really tired of Melodie already. She was like a sticky candy who would go wherever he went.
There was no need for Melodie to pretend as if they met coincidentally because he was not stupid. How could he not see through such lame acting?
It was ridiculous!
Therefore, when he just saw Carrie peeping at him outside, he immediately realized Evelyn was also eating here.
Hence, he ran over without thinking.
Gritting her teeth, and before she could say anything, Melodie saw Marty walked straight in and sat down beside Evelyn.
"Didn't we agree to eat together? Why didn't you inform me when you arrived ahead of time?"
Evelyn was dumbfounded.
She didn't. She didn't. She didn't know anything!
However, no matter how many times she denied it, she couldn't put away Melodie's anger.
Ignoring Marty's impassive expression, Melodie rushed in, pointing at Evelyn, and shouted. "Marty, why are you with her? Do you know what kind of woman she is?"
Hearing that, Evelyn silently lowered her head and thought to herself.
She had envisioned Melodie to say something bad about her.
She would be said as someone materialistic, and someone who would only take money seriously instead of the person. She was someone who would go back and forth on her words and was shameless. It would be better if Marty was disgusted about her, then he would leave her!
Evelyn hoped Melodie to hurry up and disclose everything.
However, Marty glanced at her and asked lightly, "What kind of a woman is she? What does it have to do with you?"
Melodie was speechless.
The arrow went straight to her heart, and she was so angry that she almost spat blood.
"I don't want to get involved either, but I don't want you to be fooled by her. Do you know? Last time, in order to help you test her, I gave her a large sum of money and asked her to leave you. She actually agreed!"
"For someone who would leave you for just a billion dollars, how can you still be with her?"
Narrowing his eyes, Marty and looked at Evelyn.
A look of innocence appeared on Evelyn's face.
Only God would've known that she was not greedy with money at all. In the end, all the money into his pocket anyway.
With a smile, Marty suddenly reached out to touch her hair.
"Silly? Why don't you tell me if you don't have enough money? Will you feel better spending someone else's money instead of mine? Here, this is my credit card. Use it as you like."
With that, he really took out a black card with gold wordings on it and stuffed it into her hand.
Instantly, Evelyn's face went blank.
What was going on?
She admitted that she was an actress.
But nowadays, as a supporting role, she could also earn such a high reward? Did she see it wrong?
Obviously, Evelyn was no longer the little girl she used to be, and she knew the type of card Marty had given her.
It was a limited-edition black card with no usage limit. There was not only huge wealth in it, but it also acted as a symbol of identity.
Looking at Marty's smiling face, she hesitated for a moment, but still didn't dare to accept the gift.
"Well... I don't think it's necessary. I'm not short of money now..."
"Take it!"
Marty's tone suddenly became stern, and he stuffed the card into her palm without giving her any chance to say anything, making her to hold it.
There was no way for Evelyn to reject it. Moreover, if she rejected it in front of Melodie, Marty would lose face, so she had no choice but to accept it.
Seeing that, Marty then rubbed her head happily and said, "Now that's a good girl."
And Melodie, who was ignored in the whole process, went from being the lead role to a bystander. She was completely stunned.
Melodie was dumbfounded.
What was wrong with the two of them? She purposely came over to cause trouble. Could they at least respect her?
Also, things shouldn't end up in this way, right?
What about the huge argument she had planned? What about the breakup caused by a misunderstanding?
After all, she had worked so hard to plan everything, could they respect her hard work?
As for Marty, did he focused on the wrong thing?
Even after finding out Evelyn had taken her money, his focus was actually on the fact that she was very poor, but not the fact that she betrayed you for money?
Was he out of his mind?!
Melodie was out of control!
It was a mental breakdown that had never happened before.
She had never thought that she would have such a defeat when it came to such things.
While being careful and conscientious, it was as if she was preparing for a big fight, carefully planning it.
Finally, she had the chance to act, but only to find out that he didn't take her seriously as an opponent at all, and didn't even care about her at all.
In their eyes, she was nothing!
Incredibly raged, Melodie almost fainted. Until her agent, Lila came in a hurry from behind, and saw that something was wrong in the room, she quickly held her up, so that she did not fall down on the spot.
