Chapter 885 Her Brother
Emmeline struggled subconsciously, but his grip on her arm was so firm that she couldn't move. Hence, she could only glare at him through a piece of cloth.
Upon seeing this, the masked man let out a sinister laugh.
However, he did not say anything else to her. He bent down, carried her on his shoulder, and walked away.
Emmeline was shocked.
The moment her feet left the ground, she felt a surge of fear in her chest.
She had no idea who this man was or where he planned to take her. As a result, she was constantly skeptical in her mind.
She was gathering her strength in secret, preparing to fight to the death.
However, before she could lift her arm, she heard the other party's cold voice.
"I advise you not to waste your energy. I don't want to hit women, so don't challenge my patience. Be obedient. I will let you go when we get to the place."
Just as Emmeline was about to make a move, she suddenly froze.
The man under her had broad and muscular shoulders, and his muscles were so tight that she felt a little ache in her stomach.
The other party appeared to be a martial arts practitioner as well.
Now that her hands and feet were tied up, it was inconvenient for her to move. Moreover, she had fallen into someone else's hands. Since she was not in danger of losing her life, it was better for her to be obedient and wait for the right time to strike.
With this thought in mind, the tensed muscles in her body gradually relaxed.
Emmeline heard footsteps after a few minutes of walking, and they didn't appear to be outside. They appeared to have entered the house and trod on the carpet instead.
Therefore, in her heart, she was certain that they would arrive at the place soon.
Sure enough, the other party stopped in no time and put her down.
"Sir, here you go."
"What?"
Emmeline frowned.
While she was pondering in her heart, her eyes suddenly became dark. The cloth tied to her head was then loosened by a hand wrapped around the back of her head.
The bright light flashed into her eyes, forcing her to frown and her pupils to narrow.
When she opened her eyes again, she saw a well-organized and luxurious room in front of her.
A tall man was standing in front of her. He was dressed in a black submachine jacket and black casual jeans. He had his hands in his pockets and was looking down at her with a faint smile.
"I've heard a lot about you, Miss Illington, and now I'm finally able to meet you."
Emmeline was stunned.
Many images went through her head as she looked at the face in front of her.
Her head suddenly ached.
She held her head, and her entire body was in so much anguish that she began to sweat heavily.
"Ah!"
Emmeline curled up on the ground in pain, her entire body shivering in distress.
What the hell was going on?
How could this be?
This face...
The face in front of her eyes was suddenly magnified.
He stared at her as though he was gently soothing her. He spoke softly, "What's the matter, Miss Illington? Do you feel a headache?"
"You must have felt familiar with me, right? We met when you were still a child. Do you recall it? I held your hand, hugged you, and bought you candy at the time. What did you call me at that time?"
Emmeline looked at him and burst into tears in an instant.
"Brother..."
The man grinned slightly, reached out his hand, and gently touched her cheek.
"Yes, I'm your brother. Be good, and don't cry."
As he spoke, he reached out his hand and lifted her from the ground.
On the side, the man in the silver mask watched them and was stunned.
Looking at him holding Emmeline, he said in surprise, "Sir..."
"It's none of your business."
Grayclouds interrupted him coldly. "Go out first."
"Uh... "
The masked man paused on second thought. Grayclouds then turned around and gave him a cold look. In the end, the masked man left in anger.
Then, Grayclouds carried Emmeline to the bedroom.
Her face was pale, and her clothes were drenched with sweat as if she had just been hauled out of the ocean.
She gave him a blank stare. Next, Grayclouds brought out a towel and gently wiped the sweat from her face after setting her on the bed.
"Emmeline, are you feeling awful? Good girl. Close your eyes and have a good sleep. I'll be here with you."
Emmeline was confused.
It felt as if something had bitten her head, causing her to feel as if her head was about to burst.
A few memory fragments that did not belong to her flooded her mind, causing her entire body to tremble in resistance.
Then she gazed at Grayclouds. For some reason, she wanted to fight him intellectually, but her eyelids actually began to sink as she heard his gentle voice.
She eventually succumbed to the heavy strain of her eyelids and fell asleep.
It was already late at night when she awoke again.
She opened her eyes and found herself lying on a luxurious big bed.
Emmeline's heartbeat raced. She jumped to her feet and stroked her body.
Finally, she let out a sigh of relief.
Fortunately, she was still dressed, and her body was normal.
As a woman, she was different from a man. Sometimes, she was not afraid of death when being captured by the enemies.
Instead, she was terrified of the inhuman humiliation that would befall her before she died.
Emmeline didn't consider herself a noble person, but if the other party actually dared to do such a thing to her, she would not let them go, even if it meant they would perish together.
But now, it seemed that nothing had happened.
While she exhaled a sigh of relief, she got more inquisitive about why these people were seeking her.
Emmeline got out of bed and walked outside.
She had assumed that those people would be extremely vigilant.
After all, they had worked very hard to capture her.
Not to mention that the gate was impregnable, but at least a large number of guards should also be present.
She exited the bedroom, proceeded to the living room, and then went outside.
She finally saw someone when she exited the gate.
Startled, Emmeline felt her heart pounding fiercely.
She looked around to make sure there was no one present, and she wanted to flee.
After all, if she didn't leave at such a wonderful opportunity, when would she?
Regardless of whether it was a trap or not, she'd better leave first!
With these thoughts in mind, she quickened her pace and walked out.
However, after only two steps, she sensed something was amiss.
She stopped, turned her head, and looked behind her.
She observed a great expanse of hills in front of her, like a sleeping behemoth. The villa in front of her was both old and luxurious, exuding familiarity and warmth.
What was... what was going on?
She was certain that she had never been here before.
But why did it feel so familiar?
A blast of pain struck her once more from her mind.
She couldn't stop herself from covering her head and lowering her head. At that moment, she could only feel something pounding in her chest and threatening to jump out of her throat.
