Chapter 567 A Talk Show
Knowing that there was a talk show today, Marissa had already printed out the questions and the flow of the show, and handed them to Evelyn priorly.
All she needed to do was to memorize everything, and she would be fine as long as she remembered them.
The program was held in a radio building.
The whole interview lasted for three hours, and the process was fairly pleasant.
After all, it was not the first time Evelyn participated in this kind of interview. So even if the host was not following the script on purpose, she could still deal with it.
By the time it was over, it was already half-past two in the afternoon.
And Evelyn was so hungry, as she hadn't had lunch yet.
As soon as she changed her clothes, she left with Carrie.
As the two walked out of the room, they discussed where they should go to eat later.
Unexpectedly, they bumped into Anthony, who was walking in their direction.
At that moment, they were still in the building where the programme was held. The building was contacted by a huge radio company to function as their office, so there were a lot of celebrities coming in and out.
It was not a surprise to see Anthony here.
Because they were already familiar with each other, and the two of them would be filming a movie together soon, they had a good relationship.
With a smile, Evelyn nodded and said to him, "What a coincidence. Are you here for a recording too?"
When Anthony walked in just now, his expression was clearly indicating that he was in a bad mood today.
However, when he looked up and saw that it was Evelyn who called him, his face lit up, and smiled happily.
Immediately, he trotted over and said, "Yes, why are you here?"
In response to the question, Evelyn smiled and gestured toward the studio where she had just come out.
"I'm here to record a talk show."
"Oh, I see."
With that, the two had nothing else to say.
After realizing that the atmosphere was a little awkward, Evelyn was about to bid goodbye and leave, but Anthony suddenly looked at the time on his watch and said, "I'm also recording a show here, but it's still early. The program starts at four o'clock in the afternoon. Anyway, I haven't eaten yet."
"By the way, have you eaten yet?" He continued with intent.
Instinctively, Evelyn shook her head.
"Not yet."
Upon hearing the reply, Anthony's eyes lit up, and said with a smile, "Then I'll treat you to a meal. Consider it as an apology for what happened last time."
For what happened last time?
Hearing that, Evelyn was stunned for a moment before realizing what he was referring to.
Of course, she knew what he was talking about. It was definitely the previous gossip.
It was the time when someone had secretly taken photos of her in the underground parking lot.
Actually, she would be fine if he hadn't brought it up, but since he mentioned it, Evelyn thought of Marty's detestable face all of a sudden.
As she thought of Marty's explanation, her expression changed a little.
Immediately, she turned down the offer sorrily. "It's alright. I still have things to do. We'll get together next time."
When Anthony heard her words, he didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, but he was a little disappointed.
"Well, since you are busy, let's do it next time. I shouldn't take your time anymore."
Evelyn nodded, as the two of them said goodbye and left.
As they walked out of the radio building, there was a car waiting for them outside.
After getting into the car, Evelyn told the address to the driver and they went to a restaurant.
She had visited the restaurant before, and the food was delicious. It just happened that she was free today, so she would like to go there again. She took it as a holiday for herself.
Of course, Carrie went with her.
When the car moved, Carrie sat closer to her sneakily, lowering her voice, and said, "Evelyn, why do I have a feeling that Mr. Anthony is interested in you?"
Hearing that, Evelyn was a little surprised and turned to look at her.
At the sight of Carrie's gossipy expression, her expression immediately changed.
Instantly, she glanced at the driver.
It was Marissa who arranged the driver, so she could trust him. Usually, he was quite taciturn. and didn't really speak much.
Finally, she let out a sigh of relief and whispered, "Don't talk nonsense. There's no such thing."
However, Carrie did not notice the change in her expression, so she continued with a suppressed voice, "Evelyn, I really think that Anthony treats you differently. You see, usually, when he is at the set, how often did he offer to treat an actress to a meal? But he actually invited you just now."
"Although he was accused to be a playboy outwardly, I think he is still a very good person."
"At least he's quite a gentleman when it comes to dealing with girls. Even if he was interested in someone, he'll take care of her feelings. Unlike someone, who was arrogant and unreasonable, with behaviors that were easily disgusted upon. Regardless of the nobility of their status, they're not likable."
Hearing that, Evelyn raised her eyebrows and turned to look at her.
She asked, "Arrogant and unreasonable? Who are you talking about?"
With her lips pursed, Carrie said discontentedly, "Evelyn, you don't have to hide it from me anymore. I know everything."
Of course, she was talking about Marty.
Upon hearing what she said, Evelyn fell silent suddenly and didn't know what to say.
After a while, she heard Carrie muttering in a low voice with dissatisfaction.
"I just don't understand. Both of them are known for being playboys to the outside world, but in reality, they don't look promiscuous. However, how can Mr. Marty did that to you?"
"After all, you two grew up together since first grade. Even if he doesn't like you, he should be nicer to you!"
"Forget about supporting each other, but at least to treat each other with courtesy! On the contrary, he always upsets you. Not to mention others, even I can't bear to watch it myself."
At the moment, her words had made Evelyn completely fall into silence.
Did Marty go too far? It seemed so.
However...
She was supposed to hate him.
But, she couldn't help but heard a voice coming from her heart.
No! She didn't hate him.
She had even...
With the thought, Evelyn shook her head right away and dared not to think about it anymore.
Pursing her lips, she said in a low voice, "Don't talk nonsense anymore. Whether it is Marty or Anthony, they're both impossible. So don't say this kind of thing anymore."
After noticing Evelyn's expression and the seriousness of her tone, Carrie knew that she meant it.
Then, she quickly replied, "Ok," and shut her mouth, not daring to talk nonsense again.
Soon, the car arrived at the restaurant.
The restaurant was very famous in Flaucford. Its name was The Moher.
The roast duck they served could be considered as one of the best.
It was not only a place where many famous celebrities liked to visit, many of the upper class of Flaucford enjoyed it too.
Because of that reason, the restaurant had a high ranking among the restaurants in Flaucford.
They even had good security and privacy system installed.
So it was definitely safe and private to dine there.
The two of them arrived at the private room that they had booked beforehand.
As soon as they sat down, they heard a loud noise outside.
