Chapter 887 A Significant Risk
"Bring her back to see me," Grayclouds urged to Jason.
Jason answered in a low voice, "Yes!"
Outside, Emmeline was still struggling.
She had no idea what was going on with this memory that had appeared out of nowhere in her mind. All she knew was that she had to escape right away.
There was no other reason except that she felt a significant risk in addition to the vague and unexplainable attachment.
So, she heard a voice in her head urging her to run! Hurry and ran!
She gritted her teeth, stood up, and stumbled outside.
However, at this point, a black shadow appeared and stood in front of her.
"Miss Illington, where are you going?"
She looked up and saw the man with a silver mask.
"Who are you?" she questioned coldly, her face darkening.
The silver-masked man smiled and said, "Why don't you stay here and figure it out if you're so curious about our identities? If you stayed, maybe you'd have it all sorted out."
Emmeline clenched her teeth.
She knew that her body was abnormal now, and she was too weak to exert all her strength. She had no idea what these people had done to her.
As a result, based only on her martial prowess, she was no match for the man in front of her right now.
What should she do?
She was thinking in her head as a gust of wind rushed toward her.
Her heart skipped a beat. She dodged and avoided the attack by relying on her body's instinctual reaction.
The silver-masked man paused and smiled as he stated, "Your skills are indeed extraordinary, but unfortunately, you can't escape. Emmeline, you can neglect your own safety, but don't you want to know what happened to the girl who was with you? Don't you want to know why we caught you? Do you really want to leave without making things clear?"
Emmeline was shocked.
Yes. He had mentioned the soft spot in her heart.
After all, she really wanted to figure out who these people were and what their purpose was to catch her.
Furthermore, she was concerned about Yunne's safety because it had been a long time since she had awoken. However, she had never seen Yunne once, nor had she heard any news about Yunne.
Although Yunne was present, Emmeline had a fleeting flash of hope that they had only caught her. Perhaps they believed it would be too troublesome to bring another person with them, so they knocked her out and left her there.
In that case, Yunne wouldn't be in danger.
But, based on what he said, it was clear that Yunne was also in their hands.
Emmeline's heart skipped a beat, and she stopped thinking about leaving immediately.
She then asked in a low voice, "What do you all want?"
The silver-masked man smiled slightly. Unexpectedly, he did not take any further action. Instead, he made an invitation gesture.
"Miss Illington, please come in. Our boss will tell you everything."
He bowed and invited her inside after saying that.
Emmeline paused for a while, knowing in her heart that, while he was kind on the surface, he did not give her a second option.
Hence, she calmed herself down. In any case, she didn't have much of a choice. Well, it was said that nothing ventured, nothing gained.
So, she stood up straight and stepped inside.
Grayclouds had come to the luxurious living room at some time and was seated on the sofa, waiting for her.
As soon as Emmeline entered the door, her eyes were darkened as soon as she saw him sitting on the sofa.
With a sullen face, she walked over.
Grayclouds raised his head.
Their eyes met, and an inexplicable feeling rose from Emmeline's heart.
It all felt too familiar.
His face and eyes looked so familiar as if they had been imprinted in her mind for a long time.
She was about to greet him as her brother.
But just as the words reached her throat, Emmeline stifled them.
She pursed her lips and fixed her gaze on him.
Seeing this, Grayclouds' eyes twinkled with surprise.
He knew Emmeline had a strong will, but he didn't expect it to be quite so powerful.
He did, after all, give her two bottles of magical drink as well as his unique hypnosis techniques. By all rights, she shouldn't be feeling any resistance in her heart.
Nonetheless, he did not show his emotions on his face.
Instead, he smiled incomparably softly and said, "Please take a seat if you have something to say."
His tone and smile were so gentle that he reminded her of a caring sibling.
However, the more he acted in this manner, the more wary Emmeline felt in her heart.
She was well aware that abnormality was a devil in this world.
These people did everything they could to catch her and put her here. Clearly, they weren't just interested in talking to her.
Thinking of this, she sat down without saying a word.
In front of Grayclods, there was a tea tray.
It contained two teacups and a teapot.
He then took two cups from the tray and poured them for her. "Have a taste of this special tea," he remarked as he handed her a cup.
Emmeline remained motionless as she gazed at her cup of tea.
Unsurprised, Grayclouds smiled and picked up his cup to take a sip.
After drinking, he said, "Don't worry. If I want to kill you, you won't be here right now. It's simply a normal cup of tea, and it's not poisonous."
As he talked, he took another sip of tea, suggesting that she could rest assured.
Emmeline's fingertips moved, but at the end of the day, she couldn't fight the searing thirst in her throat any longer, so she took it up and drank it.
Grayclouds was relieved upon seeing this.
Then, he grinned and said, "Do you feel very strange? Who am I? Why did we catch you? You must have a lot of questions in your mind now, right?"
Emmeline stared at him coldly and did not speak.
That look in her eyes, though, made clear that she had admitted it.
Grayclouds grinned blankly and shook his head, saying, "I also know that bringing you here in this manner will irritate you. It's also possible that you don't recognize me as a result of this."
Emmeline frowned.
Inquisitively absorbing two keywords from his sentence, she asked, "Recognize you?"
The Grayclouds nodded.
Gazing at Emmeline in the eyes, he questioned, "Do you really have no memory of me, Emmeline? Don't you remember who I am?"
He appeared to be looking forward to it, but he was also hiding a hint of pain.
Emmeline looked into his eyes, and those fleeting pictures flashed across her memory.
A little boy and a little girl were joyfully playing together, gathering flowers and flying kites.
