Chapter 1046 Being Kidnapped

Shaking her head, Sierra sighed, "Forget it. Your work is so busy and I've already caused you a lot of trouble. I don't want to cause you any more trouble."
When Clarissa was about to say a few words to persuade her, she was interrupted again.
"Don't tell me that I haven't caused you any trouble. I know that Robert agreed to go to Ascijan with us this time because he was worried about me and because Anderson promised to provide him with a better medical laboratory. He also promised to give him a sum of money and let him control it. Although this money may be nothing for you, I can't take it for granted. Clarissa, it is your luck that you are married to Anderson. But we can't take advantage of it just because he treats us well. That's not a good thing to do."
Clarissa couldn't help but laugh when she explained her reasoning.
"Mom, I haven't said anything yet. Look at you, how many sentences have you said?"
After letting out a sigh, she held Sierra's hand, and patted the back of her hand.
"Mom, don't worry. Even if Anderson couldn't pay for it, I can afford it too. Don't look down on your daughter. Although I'm not as rich as he is, ordinary people can't compare with me."
Sierra had long heard that her business had flourished in the country.
Now, the domestic entertainment market was almost controlled by Energence International Crop.
In the first two years, Clarissa was just a Director of public relations in Energence International Crop. But gradually, Anderson let her handle the entire company.
Even the shares were transferred to her account.
Therefore, she was now the real boss of Energence International Crop.
Coupled with Starlight Entertainment, even though Starlight was under Energence International Crop, it was only because Clarissa felt that since the two companies were hers, it would be too troublesome to separate them, so she couldn't care less to separate them.
In fact, since she transferred all Starlight's celebrities to Energence International Crop two days ago, and Starlight was transformed to a video-broadcasting platform, Starlight's income had gradually been comparable to that of Energence International Crop.
Therefore, for Clarissa, money was not a problem.
She had the confidence and the right to say such words to Sierra.
Obviously, Sierra knew what she said was the truth. While feeling gratified, she couldn't help but feel sorry for her that she had to work all the time.
It would be even more difficult for her to accompany her every day.
But she did not say it out loud.
After entering the restaurant, she ordered some local dishes and paid them. She asked them to send them to the castle at half past eleven in the afternoon, then left with Clarissa.
When they came out, it could be her illusion, but Clarissa felt that there was someone following her.
She looked back and found that there was no one but the guests in the restaurant and several waiters who were busy with their own business.
Frowning, she thought she might have mistaken it.
Therefore, she didn't think much of it and walked across the street with Sierra.
The car was still parked there safely.
The driver was still wearing the cap he wore in the morning and got off the car to open the door for them.
At that moment, Sierra was extremely happy. Perhaps it was because she had finally figured it out, the heavy burden in her heart had finally been put down.
When she got in the car, she could even feel her body became lighter.
At the same time, Clarissa was also infected by her happiness and chatted with her along the way.
The car started and gradually left the busy city.
The two of them were not paying attention as they shared their stories. Clarissa told Sierra about the interesting events that had happened to her in Ascijian.
Sierra enjoyed listening to her stories. It was as if the more she heard of it, the more she would be able to make up for her absence over the past few years.
Because she could no longer remember the past. Even if she recalled something now, they were just fragments.
Therefore, Clarissa was not sure how much she could remember about Gianni.
And obviously, she would not take the initiative to mention the Chapman Family.
After all, the Chapman family was no longer around. Regardless of whether it was their crime to Sierra or what they had done to herself, Clarissa could not forgive them.
Even if they died, she found it hard to let go of the hatred.
But these incidents were too heavy. She could carry them all by herself. There was no need for Sierra to know about them.
Therefore, Clarissa didn't tell her how she was bullied by the Chapman family and how she took revenge.
She was afraid that Sierra would blame herself, worry too much, and overthink it.
Sierra didn't seem to have thought about this either, so she didn't ask.
The two chatted with each other from time to time, but they didn't notice that the scenery outside the window was getting deserted, and it was not the way back to the castle.
After a long time, Clarissa inadvertently looked out of the window and suddenly realized something.
Glancing at the time on her wristwatch, half an hour had passed. If she remembered correctly, it would only take about 20 minutes to travel from that street to the castle.
Because she was not familiar with the road here, she was not sure whether the driver had used another way.
So she asked, "How long will it take for us to get home?"
The driver spoke in a deep voice. "It won't be long."
Clarissa frowned.
She knew something was off as the driver sounded different from the driver they had earlier.
As she was thinking, she suddenly felt a pain in her neck.
With her eyes widened, she turned her head and realized someone was holding a needle and stabbing it into her neck. By her side, Sierra had already been injected with some unknown drug and had already fallen unconscious.
Starring at him, she wanted to say something, but she couldn't make any sound. In the end, she closed her eyes and fell down heavily.
After both of them passed out, the man, who had been hiding under the back seat of the car, crossed over with his long legs.
He first checked their eyes to make sure that they were indeed unconscious, then only he breathed a sigh of relief.
As he pulled his collar, he scolded. "D*mn, I almost suffocated myself to death in order to knock them out! What did you do? You just have to drive the car leisurely."
The driver, who had been sitting in the driver's seat, finally took off his cap.
With a cold smile, he replied. "Don't complain. You were the one who had a different body size with the driver, so I had to be the one to do this."
As he spoke, he glanced to the back of the car.
"Is the pregnant woman okay?"
"She's fine. She's still alive."
"Good. Boss has made it clear that we have to make sure she is safe. She is our biggest bargaining chip and we can't let anything happen to her."
"I know. Alright. Let's go meet the boss now."
