Chapter 287 Talk Nonsense

Only then did Marty tread lightly. When the light was dim and no one paid attention to him, he ran to them quietly.
"Anderson, Clarissa, why are you here?"
"You're here, too. Why can't we come here?"
Clarissa was amused, so she teased him.
Marty didn't mind it and took the initiative to say, "Honestly, this auction is hosted by my family. If you take a fancy to anything later, you can tell me and I'll keep it for you. No one will compete with you."
Clarissa was a little surprised. Anderson glanced at him and said in a deep voice, "Since you are so capable, why don't you just send it to us?"
Marty was stunned.
"Well... Anderson, you're making things difficult for me. You know that my father controls the purse-strings of my family. If I really send it to you, he will definitely give me a lesson."
Clarissa was amused by him. At this time, a young man walked over from the corner of the hall.
"Hi, Anderson, Clarissa."
The man wore a dark gray suit, and his face was handsome. When he talked and laughed, he looked so elegant and warm.
Clarissa met him once and knew that he was one of Anderson's good friends. He seemed to be a very talented doctor named Aidan. She quickly stood up and greeted him.
Aidan didn't expect to meet them here and asked curiously, "Clarissa, are you also interested in jewelry?"
He knew that Anderson had no interest in jewelry.
Clarissa smiled, "No, I just came and have a look casually."
Hearing this, Aidan nodded and didn't ask more.
Seeing this, Marty didn't go to the front anymore. He directly asked someone to change his seat. He pulled Aidan and sat in the back row, sitting together with Anderson and Clarissa.
"Anderson, there are several fine jewelries tonight, all of which are especially suitable for Clarissa. I will remind you when they are auctioned later. Take a careful look."
Clarissa stopped him in a hurry.
"Stop it. Don't instigate Anderson. We just came to have a casual look and don't want to buy anything."
Marty smirked.
"Come on, Clarissa. It's said that women can't spend less money on themselves. If you don't spend your husband's money, another woman will spend it. Besides, Anderson is super rich, and you can..."
Before he finished speaking, Anderson punched him on the head.
Marty let out a cry, covered his head and looked at Anderson with grievance.
"Anderson, why do you suddenly beat me?"
Anderson said with his face darkened, "Just shut up! Whether you believe it or not, I will throw you out of here if you don't keep your mouth shut."
Marty immediately made a gesture of shutting up and signaled that he would not speak.
Anderson held Clarissa's hand and said in a low voice, "Don't listen to his nonsense. My money is yours, and it has nothing to do with other women."
Clarissa could not hide her amusement.
Marty complained silently in his heart, but he didn't dare to say more, sat obediently and waited for the auction to begin.
Soon, everyone arrived and the auction officially began.
Clarissa still remembered the set of red coral jewelry that Anderson gave to her last time. In fact, she thought that it was very suitable for Matteo. After all, she was young and could rarely wear it on a proper occasion.
Matteo was different. She was old and liked this kind of bright-colored jewelry, because it looked festive.
Clarissa couldn't send it to Metteo, because it was a gift from Anderson. She only hoped that she could see the same set of jewelry at night so that she wouldn't come in vain.
Knowing what she was thinking, Anderson whispered in her ear, "In fact, there is another set of jewelry which is similar to the red coral jewelry. It is a set of emeralds, but it belongs to aunt. I think she will give it to grandma on her seventieth birthday."
Clarissa was taken aback and frowned.
"Should we send grandma something else? Will she be unhappy if we all give her jewelry as gifts?"
Anderson shook his head.
"She will be glad to accept the expressions of our good will. You don't have to care about this."
Clarissa nodded.
Aidan sat next to them and naturally heard their conversation.
Hearing that, he leaned over and whispered, "I personally drew a picture to congratulate Grandma Jordan on her birthday. It's not something valuable, but it's my compliment. Anderson, come to my house and have a look when you have time. If there is anything improper, you can tell me in advance and I can polish it as soon as possible."
Aidan not only had good medical skills, but also had outstanding painting skills. He was especially good at landscape painting. It was said that he was like old master Leonard.
Anderson nodded.
"Grandma has always liked you very much, and she will like everything you paint. You don't have to take so much trouble."
Aidan smiled faintly.
Marty was a little unhappy after hearing this.
"Grandma Jordan is really prejudiced! Every time Aidan goes there, she is so happy, as if she has seen her own grandson. But why does she call me naughty boy every time?"
"On her birthday last year, Aidan just gave her a pot of tea, and she was overjoyed. I bought an exquisite pillow from abroad, but she just had a look, which broke my heart badly."
Aidan said blandly, "That's because I chose the tea with extra effort. Your pillow is just beautiful but not a novelty."
"But it's expensive! I spent a lot of money to buy it."
"My tea is not a bargain either."
"How can your tea be as expensive as my pillow?"
"Even if it is not as expensive as your pillow, it suits Grandma Jordan better than your pillow."
"Oh, no way! Aidan, are you determined to compare with me today?"
"......"
Seeing that they were about to fight, Clarissa immediately interrupted them.
"Wait. Is the pillow you are talking about the ancient one with phoenix patterns which was unearthed a few years ago?"
Hearing this, Marty knew that she knew the pillow and said happily, "That's right! Clarissa, you're so knowledgeable! You know what I was talking about so smartly."
Clarissa smiled awkwardly.
"No, I am just curious. How could you send grandma the pillow which had been used by a dead man as a birthday gift? Don't you think it's ominous?"
Marty was speechless.
Aidan and Anderson couldn't help laughing.
Marty was angry. He gritted his teeth and argued, "How can you think so? In this case, shouldn't we keep those antiques anymore?"
Clarissa put on a fake smile.
"Don't be so anxious. That's not what I mean. The pillow is a funeral object, isn't it? It's a bit unlucky to give others the thing which was taken out from a grave as a birthday gift. It is..."
"That's enough!"
Marty almost cried due to annoyance, "I know that the three of you are bullying me together today, humph! I don't argue with you. Anyway, you don't understand it!"
After that, he actually held his arms and turned aside, sulking.
