Chapter 465 Be In The Right

As Old Master Levine's descendants, Gimmy and others could only follow his will.
But despite the simplicity of the funeral, they had been busy with it for a long time.
Clarissa didn't attend the Old Master Levine's body donation ceremony. She felt that it was a punishment for the living.
After returning home in the evening, she locked herself in the room alone without having dinner.
Clarissa was sitting on the big balcony. It would be the new year in two months' time. During the winter in Flaucford, the sky was especially clear. At night, the sky was filled with stars, twinkling in the dark velvet dome.
At some point, Anderson had walked behind her. She knew that it was him without turning her head.
"Everyone said that after a person dies, he or she will become one of the stars in the sky and always protect the person he wishes to protect. Do you think it's true?" She asked.
Anderson who was standing behind her didn't make any response. After a while, he murmured softly, "Yeah."
Clarissa turned to look at him.
It was a quiet and tranquil night. Anderson raised his face slightly and looked at the endless night sky. From her angle, Clarissa couldn't see his eyes clearly. Nevertheless, from his side profile, Clarissa could see that he was a little lonely.
Her heart ached slightly.
Getting up from the carpet, Clarissa suddenly walked over and wrapped her arms around his waist.
Anderson's body stiffened.
After a long while, he asked, "What's wrong?"
Clarissa's voice was muffled. "I'm sorry."
Anderson raised his eyebrows.
Clarissa buried her face in his chest, her voice filled with guilt.
"I always thought that in our relationship, I was the one who gave more. Your dominance, your pride— these were the things that decided that you would be the one who played the dominant role in our relationship. And I could only follow your footsteps and be a follower forever."
"Only now did I realize that I was wrong. You have always been shouldering more responsibilities than me and sacrificed more than me. It's just that I didn't see it so I took it for granted. I was too selfish."
Clarissa raised her head slightly and looked at him. Her crystal clear eyes were filled with tears and tenderness.
"Anderson, thank you for everything you've done for me. In the future, I will work hard so that you can have less burden on your shoulder. I will do my best so that we could complement each other and I could stand by your side confidently."
Anderson looked down at her gently.
He did not ask her why she suddenly thought of these things. He only slightly curved his lips, revealing a hint of a smile. Nodding, he said, "All right."
Clarissa was squeezing his arms a little tighter.
After a while, she suddenly tiptoed and kissed his lips gently.
The corners of her eyes were a little moist.
"Anderson, I love you."
It was silent all around. She heard a sigh in her ear which slowly faded into the darkness.
The next day, early in the morning.
There was no one in the cemetery. The gravestone looked even colder than it really was when covered with morning dew. The air was cold and damp, sending chills to one's heart.
Clarissa stood in front of a gravestone with a bouquet of flowers in her hands.
She wore a pair of black woolen sweaters and a pair of pants. There was a white flower on her head. She bent down and placed the flower on the ground.
A few steps behind her, Anderson stood there, watching her quietly standing there for a long time. Finally, Clarissa turned around, walked to his side, and took his arm. She raised her head and smiled. "Let's go!"
Anderson nodded. He took off his coat and draped it over her shoulders, holding her slightly cold hand.
Clarissa's heart was suddenly filled with warmth, as she was silently led forward by him. There was a long distance between the cemetery and the main road. They walked quietly, and there were only the two of them on the way. It was silent and tranquil.
After a while, Clarissa suddenly said, "I want to go back to Visstead after a few days."
Anderson's hand tightened slightly.
Clarissa raised her head and looked at him in confusion.
He slightly furrowed his eyebrows. "What are you going to do there?"
Clarissa said indifferently, "Nothing, my mind is a mess now. I want to go back and sort it out."
Anderson's gaze deepened.
It might be her illusion, but Clarissa always felt that there seemed to be something complicated and deep surging in the depth of his eyes.
After a long while, he parted his lips slightly and said. "Okay, I'll go with you."
Clarissa shook her head gently.
"I want to go back by myself."
A deeper furrow got tangled in Anderson's brow.
Feeling his displeasure, Clarissa hurriedly explained, "I just want to go back and have a rest. Too many things have happened recently, so my mind is a complete mess. And your injury hasn't recovered yet, so it's not suitable for you to travel..."
Anderson stared deeply into her eyes. After a long time, he let out a sigh.
He held her gently in his arms and said in a low, hoarse voice, "Clarissa, I can't let you go alone. If you go alone, I will feel even more uneasy. Do you understand?"
Her heart softened as Clarissa nestled her head on his chest, feeling his steady heartbeat, his clean and cold scent.
After a while, she compromised.
"Well, let's go together."
Only then did Anderson lower his head and plant a kiss on her forehead. Satisfied, he took her hand and left.
After returning home, Anderson first went to the study.
When he came out, he found Clarissa packing her things up in her bedroom.
When Anderson entered the room, he saw that she was putting the folded clothes one by one into the suitcase. He leaned against the doorframe without moving forward. He just stood there and looked at her quietly.
Of course, Clarissa noticed him. She looked up and smiled at him.
The sunlight shone through the window and finally shaded her porcelain skin. Her smile was bright and dazzling.
Anderson's heart skipped a beat. He walked over and helped her up from the floor, then sat on the bed himself. Clarissa, on the other hand, was being held sitting on his lap.
Clarissa was slightly stunned. She subconsciously put her arms around his neck and asked, "What's wrong?"
Anderson narrowed his eyes slightly and didn't say anything. Instead, he stretched out his slender fingers and caressed her face. His dry and warm fingers ran through her brows, her eyes, to her tiny nose and plump lips.
Finally, his palm moved to the back of her head and pulled her into a kiss as his lips met with hers.
Clarissa let out a groan. She was a little stunned by his sudden kiss.
Yet, Anderson didn't care. He grabbed the back of her head with one hand and slipped his other hand into her clothes.
His touch was electric and wherever Anderson touched, he left a trail of goose bumps on her skin. Clarissa began to breathe rapidly. Soon, she collapsed back onto the bed before her entire body was pinned under his.
His hot and needy kiss planted all over her. She breathed slightly and called out softly, "Anderson."
Her voice was soft, like that of a whimpering little beast.
Anderson's body tensed up because of her whimper and he could no longer breathe normally. He gasped slightly in response to her.
