Chapter 962 A Collaboration

"It turns out that they are your friends? I was just wondering why they seemed powerful."
With a smile, she turned to look at Tobias. "Which means, you already knew what happened between us in the hall earlier?"
Meanwhile, Tobias had no idea what Chantel was up to as he wiped away the sweat from his forehead and replied with a smile, "Yes, but the two of them are my friends. In addition, it was really an accident. Please forgive them..."
Before he could finish his words, Chantel raised her hand and interrupted him.
Following that, she walked toward Sierra.
Seeing that, Robert stood up warily, shielding Sierra behind him and said coldly, "What do you want to do?"
Chantel glanced at him as she raised her eyebrows. "It's none of your business. I just want to talk to her."
Behind him, Sierra stood up and tugged at the hem of his shirt.
"Robert, it's fine. Let me talk to her."
Only then did Robert step aside indifferently.
Then, Chantel looked at Sierra, who was standing in front of her.
Clearly, she was an middle-aged women, but she seemed to be very well maintained. It was different from the young look on Chantel's face, which was maintained by using countless premium skin care products. It seemed as though Sierra's beauty was maintained from inside out, exuding a warm and tranquil temperament like the most tender and beautiful flower that bloomed in an open grassland, and dancing in the wind, which made everyone take a liking to her.
She snorted softly and asked, "So, you are Sierra?"
In response, Sierra smiled faintly. "My name is Sierra Campos. Are you Miss Jordan?"
Chantel crossed her arm and smiled proudly. "Yes, my name is Chantel Jordan, the eldest daughter in the Jordan family. Seems like we got to know each other through a fight. Although I didn't like you before, since you are a friend of Mr. Jenkins, I won't hold grudges against you anymore. Let's make friends."
As she spoke, she stretched out her hand.
Upon seeing that, Sierra paused for a moment.
Obviously, she was not stupid. Who was Chantel?
She was the eldest daughter in the Jordan family. Almost like the Princess of Jordan Group, her status would only be one level below the King in ancient times.
What about Sierra? She was just an ordinary person who could be found among a sea of people. On top of that, she had been living in seclusion with Robert in the desert all these years and had hardly been involved in the circle of wealthy people, so how could she make friends with her?
However, since Chantel had said so, she had no other choice but to agree.
Therefore, she reached out to shake hands with her and responded with a friendly smile. "Sure."
Standing beside her, Robert frowned slightly as he was confused with Chantel's behavior.
Not to mention Robert, even Tobias, who was used to business etiquette and good at analyzing people, was in a daze too.
Initially, he thought Chantel had come to seek for trouble with Sierra.
But now, it seemed that she was here to make friends?
What was going on?
On the other hand, Chantel did not care what they were thinking. As the eldest daughter of Jordan family, she had always been accustomed to doing whatever she liked and never cared about what others might think.
Therefore, after shaking hands with Sierra, she turned to look at Tobias.
"Okay. Mr. Jenkins, now that your friends are also my friends, we can finally sit down and talk business."
Stunned, Tobias asked confusingly, "You want to talk business with me?"
"Yes!" Sitting down on the couch unceremoniously, Chantel then pointed to the couch opposite as if she was the hostess here and said, "Mr. Jenkins, sit down."
Gulped, Tobias did as told and sat down in front of her.
Then, Chantel began calmly. "To tell you the truth, I'm not here to gamble on stones, but to talk business with you."
Upon hearing that, Tobias smiled awkwardly and asked, "What business would you like to talk about?"
"Of course, it's the business of the stone mine. I know you have mined a lot of premium jade stones this time, and I also know that this batch of goods were delivered from Ashax, so I wanted to ask you where is the mine?"
As soon as she finished speaking, Tobias's face changed.
In this industry, everyone knew that the mine was their life. It was not easy to locate a mine that produced good returns, and the demand was higher then supply, so obviously, everyone would be on alert. How could they let others find out about it so easily?
Therefore, when Chantel came to him and began to ask questions, it was inevitable that she gave off a vibe that she was bullying the weak, taking advantage of her privilege to force the other party to give up their resources.
After a moment of silence, Tobias suddenly turned around and said something to his assistant.
The assistant quickly went out, and not long after, he came in with a cheque.
Then, with a dry smile, Tobias placed the cheque on the table, and slided it to Chantel.
"Miss Jordan, it's definitely my bad that I didn't greet the people in the industry here when I held the Stone-gambling Event. I can totally understand that. After all, this is not my territory. Before holding the event, I should have meet with you. This is my negligence. Please forgive me. This cheque is just a little token of respect. It's also an apology for you, and I hope you will accept it."
Looking at the check before her, Chantel was stunned. Subsequently, she came to her senses and had a change of expression.
Suddenly, she stood up and glared at him. "Jenkins, what do you mean? Do you think I'm blackmailing you?"
Upon seeing her reaction, Tobias did not look good. In his mind, he thought it was obvious that Chantel was here to blackmail him. If not, was it a joke?
Obviously, Chantel had guessed what he was thinking, so she felt angry suddenly.
Pointing at Tobias disappointingly. "Let me make this clear to you. I have enough money, and I don't need your money. I came here just to ask about the location of the mine so I can make an investment and buy a share. Is it so difficult to understand? What the hell are you thinking?"
When she finished her sentence, Tobias was completely in shock and could not believe what he had heard.
"Investment? A share?"
"That's right!" Putting her hands on her hips angrily, Chantel continued. "Don't tell me that you don't need it. Let me tell you the truth. Before I came here today, I have already checked that the bigger mining areas in Ashax have been fully developed, and if there was a good jade, it would have been unearthed long ago. In recent years, there is nothing good in stock at all.
But since your batch of goods are quite good, and you even dug out such a huge piece of emerald jade stone, I think you must have just discovered a new mine. If the new mine is small, it will be fine, but if it's a huge area, you can't afford it alone, and people will definitely get jealous of you. Just in time, I happen to be looking for something to invest in. I have the Jordan family's fund to back me, so if you are willing to take me to see it, and once I take a liking to it, perhaps I could purchase the whole area. Then we can collaborate. How about that?"
As the saying goes—fortune favors fool.
Maybe it was accidental, or maybe Chantel really did her homework beforehand, because this time, she really did hit a jackpot.
