Chapter 288 Marty Was Jealous

Clarissa was amused. She just thought that Marty was funny, so she wanted to tease him, and she didn't really want to anger him.
So she pushed his shoulder.
"Alright, I was just kidding. Don't take it seriously!"
At this moment, a surprised voice sounded from the left.
"Clarissa? Are you here, too?"
They turned their heads and saw Evelyn.
After a year of development, Evelyn had become the most famous actress in Starlight.
Although she was not as popular as those first-rank actresses, she had about 30 million fans on Facebook. The most important thing was that her popularity was stable and her acting skills were getting better and better. Her future was bright.
Therefore, she was one of the key actresses in Starlight.
Clarissa remembered that she should be acting in a costume drama recently, and Clarissa personally chose the script for her.
Why was she here?
Clarissa was a little surprised, but Evelyn was a little uneasy.
She did not come alone today, and there was a young man sitting beside her.
The man looked only in his twenties, looking gentle and handsome. He wore metal-rimmed glasses and looked like an elite in the business field.
Noticing that Clarissa was looking at the man beside her, Evelyn pursed her lips.
She didn't hide it from Clarissa.
She glanced at the few people sitting next to Clarissa, and then introduced the man in a shy and low voice, "This is Mr. Thomas from the Thomas Group. I have a half day off this afternoon, and I happened to be interested in jewelry, so I came to have a look with Mr. Thomas."
After that, she introduced Clarissa and others to Moore Thomas.
Marty's face turned gloomy in an instant.
Others didn't notice his strangeness. Anderson only met Evelyn a few times. He was willing to have a nodding acquaintance with Evelyn just because she was Clarissa's friend and employee.
Not to mention Aidan.
He didn't work in the entertainment circle, and his family's business had nothing to do with this circle at all.
In addition, he was immersed in the study of medical skills all day long. When he was free, he studied painting and calligraphy. He did not like to watch TV dramas or surf on the Internet.
In Marty's words, he was just like an old fuddy-duddy. If he lived in a world without mobile phones or computers, he would still live a good life.
Therefore, even though Evelyn was famous, he didn't know her.
Seeing that Clarissa introduced her, he just smiled and said hello politely, and then didn't speak anymore.
Clarissa nodded.
Although she didn't know Moore, she had heard of him. He was said to be a rising star in business world these years. He had just returned from studying abroad and was very promising.
She greeted Moore blandly.
After Moore said hello to her politely, he paid his attention to Anderson, who seldom spoke.
"Mr. Jordan, I have heard so much about you, but I didn't have a chance to meet you. We're fated to meet here today. After the auction is over, could I invite you to have a midnight snack with me? I have studied in F Country before. In fact, we're schoolmates..."
Before he finished his words, Anderson interrupted him.
"Sorry, I don't eat midnight snacks."
Moore was embarrassed.
Anyone with a discerning eye knew that he was just trying to find a chance to flatter Anderson.
Although the Thomas Group couldn't be compared to the four major families, it was quite powerful in Ascijan. Especially, it was close to the Holland family, and they had ties of kinship.
There was fierce competition between the Jordan Group and the Holland Group in recent years, but they were on good terms on the surface.
Therefore, even if Anderson refused to have anything to do with the Thomas Group, which was close to the Holland Group, he had to show Moore some respect hypocritically.
But he refused Moore in front of so many people, which made Moore somewhat awkward.
Evelyn immediately smiled and eased the situation.
"It is true that Mr. Jordan never eats midnight snacks. It's okay. We can make an appointment another day. Mr. Thomas, am I right?"
Moore nodded and used the opportunity to extricate himself from an awkward position, but his tone was somewhat unhappy.
"Mr. Jordan, in this case, I won't force you. If you and Mrs. Jordan take a fancy to anything tonight, just tell me and I will definitely buy it for you."
Beside them, Marty immediately got mad after hearing this.
He said mockingly, "Oh, Mr. Thomas, it seems that you're super rich. Since you want to pay the bill for Anderson and Clarissa, why don't you pay for me and Aidan?"
Moore smiled.
"Mr. Blaine, please don't laugh at me. Who doesn't know that this auction is hosted by the Blaine Group? How dare I upstage you?"
Marty sneered.
"So you dare to upstage Anderson? You mean that he can't afford the things here so you want you to pay for him?"
Moore's face changed instantly.
He glanced at Anderson and quickly explained.
"That's not what I mean."
"Then what do you mean?"
Moore was speechless.
He had studied abroad for many years. Although he had heard that the rich and young people in Flaucford were hard to deal with, he did not expect that Marty would be so unreasonable.
Aidan didn't want to make the atmosphere so awkward, so he pulled Marty's sleeve secretly.
"Mar, just stop."
Marty snorted coldly.
"I just can't stand it when someone fronts in front of me!"
Moore's face was gloomy. Seeing this, Clarissa tipped Evelyn a wink .
Evelyn immediately took away Moore.
"Mr. Thomas, the auction has begun. Let's stop talking here, so as not to affect others. Let's go there and sit down!"
Moore nodded. Evelyn held his arm and they left.
Marty's face suddenly became even more furious.
Clarissa glanced at him and sighed softly.
Since Marty solved the trouble for Evelyn at the charity party last time, Clarissa had vaguely felt that their relationship was abnormal.
However, she was not very familiar with Marty. Although Evelyn was the actress in her company, she couldn't interfere in their affairs. On the one hand, Evelyn and Marty was not in a relationship. On the other hand, Evelyn had always been a girl who knew what she was doing.
Marty liked her, but it seemed that she didn't like Marty.
Clarissa didn't attention to them, and focused on the auctions on the stage.
As Marty said before, there were indeed many fine jewelry that night.
But Clarissa didn't like one of them.
However, Marty bought several jewelry in one breath.
He was competing with Moore.
As long as it was something Moore wanted, he must meddle in.
It seemed that Moore intended to please Evelyn that night. As long as there was a new lot, he would ask Evelyn for her opinion first.
