Chapter 866 It Was All a Lie
"But, after we all went to bed at night, I didn't expect that there would be an explosion in Mr. Holland's room."
"When we broke in, we saw that the room had already been set on fire. We tried our best to save Mr. Holland, but he was already seriously injured."
"Because I couldn't figure out who did it at the moment, I rushed back all the way."
Upon learning the news, Emmeline frowned deeply.
Then, she asked in a low voice, "Didn't you check it carefully when you were staying in the hotel?"
Quan replied solemnly, "I've checked."
Hearing that, Emmeline was stunned.
Immediately, she noticed a complicated and remorseful expression on Quan's face. So, some thought, she figured out what was going on.
"There is a mole?"
Upon hearing that, Quan clenched his fists and nodded.
"The guards?"
Again, Quan nodded.
Upon realizing the truth, Emmeline let out a sigh.
No wonder.
The mole was one of the guards. No one would discover him if he loaded a bomb in any convenient time in the room.
Her face couldn't help but sink.
Others might not know, but she knew very well that Jara's guards were all carefully selected.
Most of them were orphans without parents. They had nothing to worry about in this world, so they were not afraid of being threatened or forced.
Jara had always treated them well, and there was no possibility of them turning against him for personal benefits.
More importantly, according to her knowledge, most of these people were actually children that the Holland family had sponsored since young. When they grew up, they became Jara's right-hand man.
The loyalty they had to his kindness since young were unimagianble.
But now, a traitor had appeared among these people...
Suddenly, Emmeline felt that the fog before her eyes appeared again, blurring her eyes, and blocking her vision.
At that moment, she was silent. Together with her, Quan was also silent.
Quan couldn't be more remorseful at this time.
Even though those guards were Jara's men, on a usual day, they would be under his supervision, as they would train and learn with him.
It meant that Jara had handed over his most elite troops, his life and possessions to him.
However, he had let down him down. Not only did he failed to investigate the traitor in his team, but he had put him in danger.
With the thought in mind, Quan wished he could kill himself now.
Obviously, Emmeline noticed his emotions, so she stretched out her hand and tapped his shoulder.
"It's not your fault. You don't have to blame yourself too much."
Not even Jara was able to detect him, so it was impossible for Quan to be able to see through him.
Furthermore, it was possible that the other party had been hiding amongst the guards the entire time. Normally, they wouldn't show the slightest bit of flaws just to prepare for today's lethal blow.
So, this person must be the ace in the enemy's hand. How could they let this ace be easily discovered?
While Emmeline understood this, Quan couldn't help but blame himself.
Seeing that, Emmeline didn't force him. She knew that at this time, any of her enlightenment was useless to him.
So she just asked in a low voice, "What about those people? Are they locked up?"
in response, Quan nodded his head. "A total of 18 people. All of them have been locked up."
Immediately, Emmeline nodded.
"As long as they are locked up, we'll find a way to uncover this person. Make him speak and see who is the master mind behind all these."
Emmeline's words made Quan tremble violently.
Subconsciously, he straightened up and answered firmly, "Yes."
Then, Emmeline waved her hand. "You may leave first. For now, this isthe most important matter. Jara has me and your Uncle Poick to take care of so don't worry."
With that, Quan nodded gratefully and left.
When Emmeline returned to the door of the bedroom, she saw Uncle Poick coming out.
She quickly walked over and asked, "How's it going?"
At that moment, Uncle Poick's eyebrows were tightly knitted together. It had only been a few hours, but he suddenly seemed to have aged quite a few years.
In a deep voice, he replied, "The situation has not yet recovered, and we need blood transfusion now. I'll send someone to get the blood bag."
Hearing that, Emmeline nodded, then Uncle Poick left quickly.
Yunne saw her look of despair, so immediately, she moved a chair over and put it behind her.
"Emmeline, your leg injury hasn't fully healed yet. Why don't you just sit down and wait?"
Emmeline was stunned and was about to refuse. However, Uncle Poick, who had already left, turned around and said to her with a frown, "Sit down and wait. Mr. Holland would want to see you first when he wakes up. If he finds out that you are in a bad state, he will worry about you."
Upon hearing that, she pursed her lips and replied, "Okay"
Only then that she sat down.
Uncle Poick left at a brisk pace.
This operation lasted for about one and a half hours.
After taking the blood plasma, Uncle Poick went back in.
Not long after, the doctors came out together.
Everyone stood up and asked in unison, "How is it going?"
The doctor nodded and said, "He is stable now, but he is not completely out of danger yet. The next 48 hours would be the critical window. You send two reliable people to take care of him. Remember to lower your voice. After 48 hours, there will be no problem."
It was only then that everyone was relieved.
The two people who could be trusted and had the time were naturally Emmeline and Uncle Poick.
Without hesitation, they changed their clothes and went in.
Uncle Poick was responsible for arranging his nutrition, and Emmeline was accompanying him, paying attention to his condition at all times.
The room was filled with a strong smell of disinfectant and alcohol as well as fresh blood.
When Emmeline looked at the man lying quietly on the bed, with gauze all over his body, her eyes were a little red.
She sat down on the chair beside the bed and said softly, "Jara, you better wake up soon. If anything happens to you, I'm telling you, I'm not done with you!"
The man lay there in silence. There was no sound and no response.
All of a sudden, she missed the old him.
In the past, Jara had always liked to provoke her, and he would always act like a child, throwing a childish tantrum at her.
And he was so mean to her at that time, always upsetting her.
However, for some reason, Emmeline that Jara was better that way. He was livelier.
Unlike how he was lying on the bed like a lifeless puppet now.
She raised her hand and grabbed his hand that was stretched out from under the blanket.
Putting his hand on her cheek, and said softly, "Jara, I'll tell you a secret, alright?"
Of course, there was no response from him.
However, she seemed to be unable to feel it and continued. "I'll tell you then. I always said that I hated you back then, but in truth, it was all a lie."
