Chapter 470 At The End Of The Rope

Anderson was so angry that his face was as sombre as it could be. Just as he was about to push her away, a woman's surprised voice sounded from the bedroom door.
"What are you doing?"
......
Five minutes later, in the living room on the first floor.
Clarissa was sitting on the sofa with Anderson sitting next to her, his face ashen. Charmaine was standing across from them with a pitiful expression on her face.
Pattie also rushed over from the backyard. At first, she didn't know what had happened, but after she heard from the servant, she pulled a long face.
The servant served tea respectfully. Clarissa picked up the cup and took a sip, then said slowly, "Tell me! What's going on?"
She was taking a nap, but in a daze, she heard a faint noise outside.
During this period of time, having been going through so many things, and coupled with the fact that she was pregnant, Clarissa had become a light sleeper. Once she heard the noise, she couldn't sleep anymore, so she got up and went out to have a look.
But she didn't expect to see such a scene.
Thinking of what she just saw, Clarissa looked at them playfully and chuckled. "I didn't expect that I could wake up in the middle of my nap and catch you in the act in my own house. Did you think I am  imperturbable or did you really treat me like air?"
Anderson couldn't help but twitch the corner of his mouth as he looked at her with a piteous expression.
"I didn't."
Clarissa waved her hand, gesturing to him that he didn't have to talk.
"Miss Cole, I didn't make things difficult for you when you came to visit us as a guest. Even though some of your actions have made me uncomfortable, for the sake of the Old Madam Jordan, I let it slide. Did I give the wrong impression that I am a person that could be easily bullied by you?"
Charmaine's face turned pale. After a while, she said in a low voice, "Sorry, Clarissa, I didn't do it on purpose"
"Not on purpose?"
Clarissa glanced at her coldly, without any emotion in her eyes.
"You did not prepare a meal with most of the dishes , or you did not deliberately seduce Anderson under my nose?"
Charmaine was speechless.
Clarissa's last sentence was pleasing to Anderson's ears. He curled his lips, and his originally gloomy expression suddenly eased a lot.
"Honey, don't be angry. You must not hurt yourself. You're still carrying our baby."
Anderson  put his arm around her shoulder and patted her back a few times.
However, Clarissa shot him a glare.
Anderson was speechless.
What did he do wrong?
At this time, Clarissa was not in the mood to argue with him. She just said coldly, "Miss Cole, I don't need your explanation. I bet you couldn't come up with a better excuse now anyway."
"In the past few years, there were countless women who tried to throw themselves at Anderson. I can't handle all of them even if I want to. Since you are a cousin, I won't tell anyone about what happened today."
After all, I still have to save your face. But since things had ended up this way, there is no way that we could still be relatives. In the future, you'd better not come and visit us ever again. Go back to where you came from!"
After Clarissa finished speaking, she called for Pattie and asked her to send Charmaine away.
When Charmaine saw this, her face, which was already pale, suddenly turned completely ghostly pale.
"No, I won't go! Clarissa, it's my fault. Please forgive me! I won't do it again. I was not thinking straight just now. I didn't do it on purpose."
Clarissa glanced at her coldly.
"Not intentional? It's obvious that you've been planning this for a long time!"
Now she finally understood why Charmaine, whom she had met only a few times, was so warm-hearted and came to visit her.
Charmaine was not visiting her, but Anderson!
Besides, on the surface, she had made a table full of nourishing food for Clarissa, but in reality, they were made for Anderson.
Charmaine also wanted to seize the opportunity to seduce Anderson while she was pregnant.
"Haha... You're really shameless to pull tricks like this." Clarissa thought to herself.
Clarissa didn't want to curse at her, so she just said in a cold voice, "We are all grown-ups here. Don't you think that we would all know what tricks you have up your sleeves? If you want me to make it clear, it won't do you any good. Are you sure you want me to go on?"
Charmaine didn't realize until now that the woman in front of her, who was even younger than her, had already married to Anderson, was really not easy to fool.
She bit her lip and whispered, "We are cousins after all, and I was just confused for a moment. Why do you have to be so overbearing?"
"Heh!" Clarissa was so angry that she burst out laughing right away.
"You know you're cousins, but you're still rushing to throw yourself at him? Even if you don't have a blood relationship with me, how could you be so thick-skinned! Don't you understand that?"
Clarissa's words left no room for her to retort, and Charmaine felt extremely embarrassed.
She bit her lip and wanted to say something more, but Clarissa had already called for Pattie impatiently, "Send the guest out."
Pattie stepped forward and said in a deep voice, "Miss Cole. This way please."
Charmaine stood still.
Pattie frowned and was thinking whether she should ask two servants to take her away by force, when she suddenly saw Charmaine fall to her knees with a "plop" sound.
Everyone was startled by her sudden action.
Clarissa was so scared that she stood up. Anderson quickly got up to grab hold of her, for fear that she would slip over if she got too worked up. His facial expression darkened completely.
Although Charmaine was at fault and had malicious intentions, they were of the same generation after all. It was too much for her to take.
Clarissa's expression changed, and she snapped, "What do you mean?"
Charmaine raised her head and looked at her with tears welling up in her eyes, as if she was desperately trying to grasp the final straw of hope.
"Clarissa, I beg you, please help me! I am at the end of my rope! If I go out from here today, I'll literally die tomorrow."
"Clarissa, I admit that it's all my fault today. But I beg you to give me a chance since we're cousins. Please help me!"
"If I have a way out, I wouldn't have thought of this method either. Why would I want to bring humiliation to myself?"
Clarissa frowned.
No matter how slow she was, at the time, she had already sensed that something was not right.
Clarissa turned to look at Anderson, and they both saw some surprise in each other's eyes.
She said in a deep voice, "Get up first. I can't listen to you in peace with you kneeling like this. If you have anything to say, get up and talk!"
With the help of the servant, Charmaine stood up.
Clarissa rubbed the space between her eyebrows, feeling a little tired. "Tell me! What's going on?"
Charmaine started sobbing. "I didn't want to bother you, but I really had no other choice. I can't think of any other way except for asking Anderson for help."
Upon hearing this, Clarissa raised her eyebrows as she glanced at Charmaine coldly.
