Chapter 410 His Heart Aches For Her

Anderson pulled her hand over while chiding her. He quickly opened a bottle of mineral water and poured it over the burned area.
The coldness of the water eased the pain. Clarissa said softly, "It's okay. It is not a serious burn. I just lightly bumped into it, so it does not hurt anymore."
However, Anderson's face was still tense. He carefully looked at her hand and saw that even though there was no blister, there was a red mark on it. It wasn't too serious, but it must be very painful.
Anderson resented right away. He pulled her to the side and sat her down on the chair farthest from the stove. He said, "Don't go near there. If you want to eat anything, I'll get Anthony to barbeque it for you."
Anthony was a fun-loving person.  The only thing he was good at was barbecuing. He was also the one who proposed the idea of barbecuing tonight.
Clarissa smiled and held his hand, saying, "Why are you so nervous? I'm fine."
Anderson still pulled a long face.
Clarissa pouted. "That's enough. It's my fault, okay? Don't call Marty. He's having a good time. Don't disturb them."
Anderson looked in the direction where Marty was. Marty, Anthony, and the rest were already having fun over there. They were all over twenty years old, yet they were playing around like a child who was only a few years old, not caring about their image at all.
He couldn't help but snort and said, "Childish!"
Clarissa held back her laughter and stood up. She took his hand and sat down next to the stove. "Well, stop judging the others. What do you want to eat? I'll barbeque some for you."
Unexpectedly, Anderson took the stuff from her hand and said, "Sit further away. I'll do it."
Clarissa was quite surprised, but she still moved the chair to the back obediently and asked, "Can you?"
Anderson glanced at her with disdain. "Isn't it just a trivial matter? It's not that difficult."
Clarissa didn't believe it.
But the reality was that having a high IQ could be really helpful sometimes. This was the first time Anderson barbecued. In the beginning, he wasn't too good at it, but in the end, he managed to barbecue a skewer that tasted normal on the third attempt. In the end, the more he tried, the better it tasted.
Clarissa couldn't stop eating. She praised him while eating. "Oh my god, if you don't want to be in charge of the company anymore, you could totally go to set up a barbecue stall. You will definitely be able to make a fortune from it."
Anderson's forehead instantly broke out in cold sweat.
Imagining the CEO of the Jordan Group set up a stall on the street to sell barbecue? That could only be possible if he was a down-and-out.
He stared at her and said, "Shut up and eat."
Clarissa enjoyed the food very much. Occasionally, she would feed him a mouthful.
Although Anderson had learned how to barbeque, he still didn't like this kind of food. If it wasn't for Marty's suggestion today, and no one else had any objections to it, he definitely wouldn't have agreed to eat this.
The smell here drew the attention of the two people who were frolicking in the distance. Marty shouted from far away, "Wow, is Clarissa barbequing? It smells so good!"
When they got closer, only did they realize that it was Anderson who was barbecuing.
The two were so shocked that their jaws dropped. They looked at Clarissa, who was sitting at the side, with her mouth full of grease, not caring about her image at all.
The two of them were so shocked that their hearts were trembling.
Anderson really doted on Clarissa a lot.
Anderson was not even that kind of person that would set foot in the kitchen, yet he learned how to barbecue?
The magic of love was indeed impressive!
Marty couldn't resist the temptation of the aroma of the food. He came over with a smile and said, "Anderson, it smells so good. Can I have some too?"
Anthony couldn't hold it back anymore. He came over and said, "I want it too. I want half a dozen oysters, three beef skewers, and ten mutton skewers."
However, Anderson only threw them a cold look.
Then, he said, "Barbeque it yourself!"
KO!
Looking at how defeated they were, Clarissa couldn't help but laugh. Marty refused to back down. He ran to the side to find Pavel.
"Pavel, you must have learned how to barbecue in the army! Can you come over and give us barbecues?"
Pavel was expressionless as he said coldly, "No!"
Marty was speechless.
"Then what's the purpose of me holding a barbecue party when no one knows how to barbecue? It's impossible for us to be starved here!"
Pavel was still expressionless. "It's you who hold the barbecue party. Nobody forced you to do it."
After a pause, he added, "Speaking of which, I'm hungry too. As the host, aren't you going to bring me some food?"
Marty was speechless.
What was he thinking? Why did he choose to hold a barbecue party on his birthday?
Turning to look at Anthony, who suggested holding a barbecue party, he roared angrily, "Anthony, come back here and cook for me!"
Anthony raised his head and looked over. "I'm busy." He yelled. "Do it yourself."
Marty was really angry. He walked over, kicked him in the a*s, and said, "If I know how to do it, I won't be begging you. Get your a*s back there."
As Anthony was kicked, his anger flared up. Just as the two of them were about to fight each other, they heard a clear and melodious sound.
"Yo, what a buzzing party. Are you having barbecue here?"
Everyone was stunned and turned to look, only to see a slim figure walking towards them under the moonlight.
Marty's eyes suddenly lit up.
However, it only lasted for a moment before he pretended to be cool.
"Yo, you're here? Didn't you say you wouldn't come? Tsk, you couldn't bear to be parted with me, am I right?"
Evelyn rolled her eyes at him.
After thinking for a while, she threw the gift box in her arms to him angrily and said coldly, "Don't flatter yourself. I just want to return the favor to you. Otherwise, I'm not willing to come!"
Everyone knew Evelyn. As soon as they saw the situation, they retreated to the side to give them some space.
Marty was hit by the gift box in the face. However, he didn't get angry and opened it with a smile.
It was a high quality watch. Although it was not particularly expensive, it suited him very well.
The most important thing was that this was the gift Evelyn gave him, so Marty naturally liked it.
He immediately took off the watch on his hand, changed into this one, and looked at it in the light.
"Not bad. Since you're so sincere, I'll accept it. Come over and have some fun."
Evelyn walked towards them.
She saw Clarissa sitting there at a glance and quickly came over with a smile. As the aroma of the food filled her nostrils, she immediately took a deep breath.
"Wow, it smells good. Clarissa, you made these? Can I have a try?"
Seeing this, Clarissa immediately handed over the plate to her and said with a smile, "Not me. But you may try it."
Evelyn quickly picked up a piece of meat and put it into her mouth.
The next second, Anthony and Marty's angry cries could be heard from behind. "Clarissa, you're being biased. You didn't give us anything to eat, but you gave it to her!"
Clarissa smiled and said, "That's becauses she's a girl! It's okay if you don't know how to respect the elderly and love the young, but you should at least learn to be a gentleman!"
The two of them received a heavy blow again.
After playing on the beach for two hours, Marty insisted on taking them to a nearby hotel to have a seafood dinner, as he claimed that he was still hungry.
