Chapter 49 Even If He Is a Monk
Lauren got stunned for a second.
She said in her heart, "It's not my bet!"
However, Clarissa was her best friend. She knew that Clarissa cared about her and tried to help her.
What's more, when Clarissa made the bet, she said that she wanted to eat with him herself. At this time, she naturally couldn't go back on her word.
Lauren gathered the hair around her ear and coughed softly.
"Well... I didn't want to leave! I just... came over to get something. Yes, I came to the car to get something."
She even repeated the sentence with certainty.
Jameson sneered with disdain.
The car was unlcoked. He directly opened the door and sat in the passenger seat.
Lauren was a little stunned.
Seeing her still standing there in a daze, he stared at her coldly and said impatiently, "Why are you still standing there? Aren't we going to have a meal?"
Lauren was speechless.
She came to sense and said, "Oh." She wanted to get in the car, but she suddenly realized that it was Clarissa's car. She didn't drive here.
If she drove the car away, how could Clarissa go back later?
Looking at Jameson who was sitting in the passenger seat and was ready to close his eyes for rest, she asked in a low voice, "Well... this is not my car. Can we leave by your car?"
Jameson was speechless.
"F*ck!" He thought.
Clarissa soon received a phone call from Lauren.
Lauren told her that she had to leave first and she had given the car key to the security guard in the parking lot, and then she hung up.
Clarissa originally wanted to ask Lauren if she wanted to wait for Jameson to fulfill his promise, but Lauren hung up so fast that she couldn't say that.
But then she heard that Jameson left as soon as the competition was over. She found that Jameson and Lauren almost left at the same time, and then she understood what had happened.
So, she did not disturb Lauren anymore. She went to get the car and made an appointment with Freddie before she left.
By the time she got home, it was already 10 o'clock at night.
To her surprise, Anderson was not at home.
Last time, she forgot to tell him when she worked overtime, and he directly drove to her company to pick her up. So this time, Clarissa sent Anderson a text message in advance to tell him that she would get back late.
But she didn't expect that she was not the only one who came home late. He didn't come back either.
Clarissa found Pattie. Pattie told her with a smile, "Mr. Jordan called me at dinner and said that there would be a very important international meeting in the company tonight, so he won't come back early."
Clarissa nodded with understanding.
Without saying anything else, she went straight upstairs.
She was so tired, so she wanted to take a bath and have a good rest.
Clarissa took the pajamas and went into the bathroom.
At the same time, Lauren and Jameson had arrived at the restaurant.
It was an outdoor candlelight restaurant.
The restaurant was on the second floor. They could see the beautiful moon and feel the cool breeze. In the distance, there was a vast river. The restaurant was embellished with romantic candlelight. On the small stage in front of them, there was a cello player gracefully playing a melodious and beautiful song.
If Lauren could ignore Jameson's cold face, it was indeed a romantic place for couples to date.
The waiter served their dishes and Lauren thanked him softly.
When she was here, she didn't cover her face tightly. She took off the mask, wearing only a hat.
The wide brim of the hat covered her eyes and brows, and only half of her straight nose and her pink lips could be seen. She slightly lifted her beautiful chin. Although she didn't say anything, she looked noble, cold and charming.
Jameson's eyes darkened slightly, and the expression in his eyes was a little cold.
They came all the way from the racing stadium, and Lauren was no more nervous. She gradually calmed down.
Even so, she still felt a little embarrassed.
They were obviously outdoors, but she felt that the air around her was so thin for no reason. She even felt that the space seemed to be narrow and she almost couldn't breathe.
The atmosphere was silent and awkward.
Especially in such an outdoor restaurant, they were so many couples.
Compared to the loving couples around them, they looked distant and indifferent.
A waiter holding a rose came over and bowed slightly with a respectful smile, "Sir, do you want to buy a bunch of flowers for your girlfriend? Here are 11 roses and this number is the symbol of a lifetime."
Jameson said with aloof eyes, "No!"
The waiter felt that this couple was a little strange. They sat there eating, but they didn't say a word, and the man looked very fierce.
In order to ease the atmosphere, he smiled again and said, "It doesn't matter. We can order songs over there. Sir, why don't you order a song for your girlfriend? It will be very romantic if she can listen to the song ordered by you in such an environment!"
Jameson looked up and stared at him coldly.
His eyes were like that of a wolf in the wilderness, shining with a cold light in the dark.
The waiter suddenly felt so scared and a chill went down his spine.
Then, Jameson said slowly word by word, "She is not my girlfriend. How many times do I have to tell you? No! Get out!"
The waiter finally realized that the man in front of him was not only fierce, but also not easy to deal with!
His expression changed a little and then he left with the roses in a hurry.
Seeing this, Lauren felt a little embarrassed.
She said in a low voice, "I'm going to the bathroom."
Then, she got up and left in a hurry.
Looking at her back, Jameson did not speak, but his eyes darkened.
In the bathroom, Lauren took a deep breath desperately.
It seemed that only in this way could her uneasy heart be temporarily eased.
The cell phone in her bag suddenly rang.
She took it out and saw that it was a call from Clarissa.
She wanted to cry, but she forced herself to hold back her tears.
"Hello, Clarissa."
"Hi, Lauren. How do you feel now? Are you happy to have a date with your Prince Charming?"
Lauren forced a smile.
She thought, "Am I happy?"
"Maybe!"
"It is a pity that he doesn't look happy!"
"That's right. The person he hates the most in his life should be me. I have promised not to appear in front of him again, but I not only go back on my word, but also force him to have a candlelight dinner with me. He should hate me very much, right?"
Lauren felt that she was about to burst into tears immediately.
She tried to hold back her tears in a hurry.
She said in her heart, "Don't cry. I've put on makeup for more than two hours today. My make-up will be smudged if I cry."
She raised her head and held back her tears after a few seconds.
Lauren didn't speak, so Clarissa thought that something bad had happened.
"Lauren? Are you alright?"
Lauren answered in a hurry, "I'm fine. I'm in the bathroom!"
"That's good. Do you get along well with each other?"
"It is hard to say. You know that he is so indifferent. He can sit there for a few hours without saying a word to me. What can I do?"
Clarissa snorted with disdain.
"You can talk to him! You're the most popular young lady in Visstead. Aren't you always good at creating a new topic? Think about those men who are chasing after you and believe in your own charm! As long as you are willing to show how charming you're, even if he is a monk, he will be tempted by you!"
Lauren was amused by Clarissa that she burst into laughter.
