Chapter 533 Good At His Job
Roland finally came to a halt.
His lips were still pressing against hers, his eyes smiling. He asked softly, "Does it still hurt?"
Sophia was stunned for a moment before he realized that he was asking about the wounds on her knees and ankles. She quickly shook her head and said, "I'm fine."
In fact, she was not seriously injured. After applying the ointment yesterday, she was feeling much better today.
Roland was still worried. He lifted up her long skirt and looked at her ankles and knees. Her ankle was no longer swollen. Although there was still gauze on her knees, they were not as scary as they were last night.
Only then did he be at ease.
"I'll ask Curtis to prepare a pair of flat shoes for you later. We'll come back as soon after we make an appearance."
Sophia asked hesitantly, "Is that okay?"
She was only 1.65 meters tall. If she wore flat shoes, she would look very short, wouldn't she? Besides, it was a family banquet and Roland's elders were all going to be there!
Roland, however, only stroked her hair endearingly. "Don't worry." Then, he did not say anything further.
When Sophia saw that he didn't speak, she was not in a position to say anything more. She turned to look out of the window.
In October, the weather was already cold in Flauford. The leaves of a few parasol trees by the street were turning yellow. The autumn breeze swept past them, causing them to rustle down. Pursing her lips, the thought of meeting Roland's family in a little while made her nervous.
Soon, the car stopped in front of a massive salon for the rich.
As soon as the two got out of the car, a very charming man greeted them. His eyes lit up when he saw Roland.
"Yo, Roland, what brings you here today?"
The man greeted Roland happily. After saying that, he noticed Sophia who was behind Roland. He was stunned as his jaw dropped.
"Oh my god! Am I seeing things? A woman? You actually find a woman?"
Roland frowned slightly. He was a little annoyed by his clamour.
Curtis was sizing Sophia up, causing her hair to stand on end. She couldn't help but move closer to Roland.
"Tsk, what a pretty girl. Look at her hourglass figure. Who is she?"
Roland finally couldn't hold it in any longer. He angrily shouted, "Curtis! Don't push your luck!"
Stunned, it was the first time for him to see Roland talking to him in such a harsh tone, so he couldn't come to himself for a moment.
Roland paid no attention to him. He gently nudged Sophia and said, "This is my wife. Help me to dress her up. Be conservative."
His wife?
What the f**k!
Stunned, Creak looked at Sophia. She smiled politely and said to him, "Sorry to trouble you."
He quickly waved his hand. "Not a problem at all. It's my pleasure to be able to style you, Mrs. Blaine."
Then he pointed to the VIP area upstairs and said, "Come with me."
Sophia turned around and looked at Roland. She did not follow him upstairs until Roland nodded at her.
It was no wonder he was a renowned stylist internationally. Two hours later he worked his magic on Sofia, she couldn't believe the beautiful and elegant woman in the mirror was her.
Curtis picked out a white deep V maxi dress decorated with tiny red crystals on it, which added a touch of bright color to the dress for her. Her hair was tied up high, together with natural yet exquisite makeup and a pair of ruby earrings, she looked extremely elegant and pure.
She was slightly in a daze. To cater to Roland's requirement to be conservative, Curtis draped a white shawl to her shoulders, to cover her exposed chest and bare shoulders, which made her look as alluring as it could be.
"Perfect! All done!"
He walked to the front and sized Sophia up. He didn't hide his amazement at all and praised, "You're so pretty!"
Sophia blushed slightly. Looking at herself in the mirror, she was actually very satisfied.
"Well, let's change into a pair of shoes and then I'll help you go downstairs!"
Curtis handed Sophia a pair of white crystal platform shoes, to make her look taller but comfortable to walk in.
Sophia smiled at him gratefully, as she put them on.
Soon, with Curtis' help, Sophia walked down the stairs. The steps were not very high, but she walked very carefully, for fear that she would fall down and make a scene.
Roland sat on the sofa in the lounge area, reading the newspaper. There were a few men sitting next to him. They were probably waiting for their girlfriends or wives. Roland looked even more dashing and handsome among those men.
She suddenly had an illusion she could lead a blissful life.
After all, during her five years of relationship with Joel, she had never been pampered like this.
At that time, she always thought that Joel was just being himself. Although he could be quite capricious sometimes, he meant no harm.
It was not until later that she saw his gentle and considerate attitude towards Bell that she knew he gentle enough to pamper someone too, and it just depends on who it was.
"Hey! Look how beautiful your wife is?"
Curtis' loud voice echoed throughout the first floor, and it immediately attracted everyone's attention.
Sophia was a little shy and embarrassed. She blushed and bowed her head so she didn't notice the flash of astonishment in Roland's eyes when he looked up at her.
"How is it? I'm good at my job, right?"
Curtis brought Sophia to Roland and asked for credit.
Roland didn't even look at him, his eyes were glued to Sophia.
After a long while, he nodded and said, "Yes, not bad."
Sophia felt very uncomfortable under his gaze. She avoided his eyes and didn't dare to look at him as she flushed crimson.
In Roland's eyes, she was extremely attractive. Subconsciously, his Adam's apple bobbed up and down.
"Let's go."
With a hoarse voice, he took Sophia's hand and walked out.
Curtis sent them to the door. When they got into the car, he hurriedly took out his mobile phone and said excitedly, "Hey, Marty, big news, Roland just brought a woman to my salon and said it was his wife!"
On the other side of the phone, Marty was sitting on the balcony and drinking lemon tea. Basking in the sunshine, he spurted out a mouthful of tea and his eyes widened in disbelief. "Really?"
......
Sophia was led out of the salon by Roland.
Roland's legs were longer thus he took longer strides. She had no choice but to jog a little in order to keep up with him.
As soon as she arrived in front of the car, she was suddenly pinned under him against the car, as he leaned closer for a big smooch.
Feeling his impatience and eagerness, Sophia was a little scared, but subconsciously, she knew that Roland meant no harm. Therefore, she didn't resist and just let him kiss him.
After kissing for a long time, Roland reluctantly let her go.
