Chapter 670 A Coincidence

Clarissa took out her phone and looked at it. She couldn't help frowning.
Evelyn asked, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing. I'll take a call. You can go ahead and try it on first," Clarissa replied.
Then, Evelyn nodded and watched her walk out of the store to answer the phone. Afterward, she went into the fitting room.
Clarissa went outside to pick up the phone.
Jara's voice came from the other side.
"Maxi, I have something to ask you for help. Are you free to talk now?"
Right after, Clarissa frowned and expressed her displeasure, saying, "Jara, I thought we had stopped contacting each other a long time ago. I don't think you should call me right now to ask for help."
Upon hearing this, Jara did not get upset; instead, he chuckled.
"Come on, don't say no so soon. Listen to what I have to say first. Since I have come to you, you can rest assured that it's not something that only benefits me."
When Clarissa heard that, she went quiet.
Following that, Jara told her his intention.
Clarissa remained silent after hearing that.
After a long while, she responded, "I can help you. But, once completed, on top of what you previously promised, I will need an additional two percent of commission."
On the other hand, Jara did not seem shocked at all.
He sighed and said, "Ah. You're getting more greedy! Okay, let's do as you said."
Only then did Clarissa hang up the phone.
After hanging up the phone, she was in no rush to return to the store.
Instead, she stood there holding her phone and finally made a phone call after much thought.
Meanwhile, on the other side.
Evelyn came out after changing her clothes to see Clarissa enter the store with a gloomy expression.
Noticing Clarissa had something on her mind, she asked with concern, "Clarissa, what happened?"
"Nothing." Clarissa gave a small frown and waved her hand.
Following that, her gaze fell on the dress that Evelyn had just tried on. She smiled and said, "It's pretty. You should buy it."
Evelyn looked in the mirror at herself.
She was brimming with elegance in the white fishtail dress, just like a fairy.
Then, she couldn't help but nod and laugh. "Yeah, I think so too! Alright, I will pay the bill now."
Clarissa nodded.
As a result, Evelyn changed out of her dress and paid the bill.
Carrying their purchases, they walked out of the store.
Evelyn contemplated Clarissa's concerned expression for a moment. "Clarissa, are you sure there is nothing wrong?" she could not help but question.
Clarissa was taken aback and turned to face Evelyn. After a few seconds, she finally regained her senses.
Then, she gave a faint smile. "Well, there is actually something."
After a brief pause, she said, "Why don't you shop on your own while I deal with it? I will look for you later when I am free."
Evelyn nodded her head at once.
"Okay, if there is nothing else, you should go handle your business first. I will go home after shopping for a while."
Clarissa nodded.  Before she left, she told Evelyn to stay safe.
Later, Evelyn began to stroll alone.
In fact, there was indeed a difference between shopping alone and shopping with someone.
After a while of walking around, Evelyn became bored. She was hesitating whether or not to return home when she noticed a familiar figure approaching her.
"Clint, you don't have to stay with me all the time. I'm bored at home and want to go out for a walk. I will be fine."
Sue gently said to Clint, who was next to her.
As usual, Clint's face was cold, but the words that came out of his mouth were warm.
"It's been more than twenty years since you left, so you are not familiar with the Flaucford now. Also, accidents are unplanned events and can occur anytime."
He paused for a moment before saying, "In any case, I am not in a rush. So, I can accompany you."
With Clint'swords, Sue could not think of anything else to say, so she remained quiet.
As they were heading forward, they saw Evelyn in front of them and came to a halt.
"Miss Hussain, what a coincidence! Why are you here?"
Evelyn felt that many things in the world were mysterious. We could walk past many people in a day but not remember any of them.
On the other hand, some people could cross paths several times within two days, and all merely by chance.
She could not help giggling. "It is quite a coincidence, Sue. Are you guys shopping as well?"
"I'm too bored at home, so I came here to walk around," Sue nodded as she said, smiling.
"Are you alone?" she asked as she looked behind Evelyn.
Then, Evelyn responded, "I was with a friend, but she had to leave to deal with some affairs. So now I'm alone."
Sue exclaimed with a chuckle, "It is boring to go shopping by yourself. Can we go shopping together, if you do not mind?"
Hearing that, Clint subconsciously frowned and wanted to stop her.
However, Sue was one step ahead of him. She had already taken a step forward and held Evelyn's hand.
After all, Evelyn felt it was no big deal to shop together.
She was indeed a bit bored on her own. In addition, she was fond of Sue, so she agreed.
Clint's face darkened as he watched them walk hand in hand in front of him. He didn't, however, step in to stop them.
In the following time, Evelyn felt much happier hanging out with Sue.
She thought that Sue was a very interesting person. Sue was charming, humorous, and generous. She must be brought up in a well-off family.
Later, Evelyn could not help but be more fascinated by her relationship with Buckley.
As she thought about it, they chose a place for tea time after they were exhausted from shopping.
Then, Evelyn finally asked the question in her mind.
"Sue, I heard you mention that you and Mr. Buckley Blaine know each other. What's your relationship with him?"
When Sue heard that, she was taken aback. She paused for a moment and did not avoid Evelyn's question.
Then, she said softly, "He is my brother-in-law."
"What?"
Despite the many possibilities Evelyn imagined in her head, she had not expected Sue's response to be this.
She looked at Sue for a moment, thinking. After that, she could not help but frown.
"But Mrs. Blaine's and your last names are different..."
Sue chuckled softly as she gazed at Evelyn's confused eyes.
She was overly gentle. There was no tension on her body, only a soft expression.
Then, calmly, she said, "We are not sisters by blood. My family was in trouble when I was a child. I was later adopted by the Dawson family. They were extremely kind in allowing me to retain my original surname. That's why. I grew up in the Dawson family, and Charlotte is my sister."
Hearing this answer, Evelyn was startled.
