Chapter 867 Brother Jara

"In truth, I don't hate you at all. Although you have done a lot of things that hurt me very much, I still know that you are my Jara, who will always protect me, take care of me, and promise to be good to me."
Suddenly, her eyes became sore as tears welled up.
But she was strong, and she didn't let it drop.
Curling her lips, she smiled softly. "Do you still remember that I liked to call you Brother Jara when we were young? At that time, I really wanted to have an elder brother, so I always followed behind you."
"But later on, you beat me when we were practicing martial arts, so I didn't want to call you that anymore."
"I heard that the older brothers in other families dote on their younger sister and they would never hit her."
"But you hit me. I hated you at that time. I told myself that I won't call you Brother Jara anymore."
"Do you still remember? For this matter, you have been angry with me for a long time, but you had no idea why I stopped calling you that, but gradually, you've given up."
"Jara, if you wake up now, I'll call you Brother Jara again, okay?"
There was no response from the person lying on the bed. It was as if he had never heard her words.
Emmeline couldn't hold back his tears any longer, and they fell silently.
But she curled the corners of her lips and smiled.
"If you don't say anything, I will take it as a yes, or, I will call it out first? When I call you, please give a response and open your eyes to see me if you can hear me, alright?"
There was still no response from Jara, who was lying on the bed.
Then, she leaned forward and whispered in his ear, "Brother Jara..."
"Brother Jara..."
"Brother Jara..."
For countless times, she shouted. Those gentle callings were like the whistling wind of time, pulling the two back to ten years ago.
While Emmeline's tears kept flowing, there was always a smile on her face.
After shouting for countless times, suddenly, the big palm that was always being held in her palms moved slightly.
Stunned, she almost couldn't believe it. "Brother Jara?"
Beside her, Uncle Poick also saw it. He hurriedly ran over excitedly. "His fingers moved. He's conscious!"
Both of them wept with joy.
Although Jara hadn't woken up at this time, Emmeline knew that he could hear what she said.
It turned out that he could really hear it.
She felt complicated but grateful at the same time, and she continued to call for him.
In the quiet room, Emmeline murmured, accompanied by the even and weak breathing of Jara on the bed, forming a harmonious but weird scene.
However, other than the movement of his fingers earlier, there was no response from him again.
Uncle Poick couldn't stand it anymore. He went forward and advised. "Miss Illington, take a break. If you continue to shout like this, you will lose your voice."
However, Emmeline shook her head.
She said softly, "Uncle Poick, do you think he will be able to hear my voice? He will definitely be able to hear it, right?"
Hearing that, Uncle Poick's eyes were also turning red.
"He can hear it, but he probably hopes that you can take care of yourself. Otherwise, when he wakes up and sees you like this, he won't be happy."
Emmeline knew that Uncle Poick was telling the truth.
So, wiping away her tears, she forced a smile and said, "You're right. I should take good care of myself and wait for him to wake up."
Seeing this, Uncle Poick quickly added. "Miss Illington, why don't you take a nap for a while? You definitely didn't sleep well tonight."
As he spoke, he pointed at a small bed that he had temporarily laid at the side.
In that moment, Emmeline did not refuse. Hence, with a nod, she walked over.
Lying on the bed, she looked at Jara, who was also lying down nearby.
Her mind was spiralling like a tide, but in the end, she still closed her eyes.
Perhaps it was because she was too tired, or it could be some other reason.
It was impossible for her to fall asleep earlier, but shortly after she lay down, she fell asleep immediately.
Seeing that she had fallen asleep, Uncle Poick closed the door and left quietly.
Jara woke up in the afternoon the next day.
At this time, the sun shone through the window. His fingertips moved a little, and soon, he opened his eyes.
The light outside the room made him squinted. He felt that his hand was held by something. Looking down, he saw Emmeline, who was lying next to him, had already fallen asleep.
The afternoon sun shone in through the window, shining on her white little face. Ina closer look, he could see the thin and light hair on her face, which made him feel warmth-hearted.
At this time, Uncle Poick just happened came in with something.
When he saw that Jara had woken up, a look of pleasant surprise appeared on his face.
However, before he could open his mouth, Jara stretched out a finger and put it on his lips, signaling to be quiet.
He understood immediately, and nodded, then tiptoed to the bed.
Meanwhile, Emmeline slept soundly.
Perhaps it was because she was too tired these two days. Initially, she just sat at the bedside accompanying him, but somehow she fell asleep.
Jara wouldn't want Uncle Poick to wake her up, so Uncle Poick could only watch quietly.
At the sight of Jara looking at her lovingly, Uncle Poick lowered his voice and said with a smile, "Since you were injured, Miss Illington has been guarding you. She is very tired."
Jara nodded his head, and his voice was a little hoarse, "I know."
In fact, that day, he vaguely felt that she was calling him.
The voice didn't sound like it came from the ears. It seemed to come from the depths of his brain and came from a distant memory.
One after another, she called out to him, "Brother Jara..."
It had been a long time since he had heard such a voice.
It carried a sense of attachment, a sense of reluctance, and a deep and complicated feeling.
At that moment, Jara's eyes were warm and tender. He wanted to gently caress her face with his fingers, but he was afraid of waking her up, so he could only give it up.
Seeing this, Uncle Poick silently retreated.
He knew that at this moment, what Jara wanted was not all kinds of medicine for his injuries, but some alone time with Emmeline.
For him, Emmeline was a better cure than all the other good medicines in the world.
However, Emmeline still woke up.
She didn't wake up because someone woke her up. Instead, she had been sleeping restlessly for the past two days. For a moment, she would go into deep sleep, but in the next second, when the image of Jara's body covering with blood suddenly appeared in her mind, she would be so frightened that she woke up immediately.
Opening her eyes, she looked at him blankly.
She could only see a white light. It was only after a long while that she gradually gathered her vision.
In the end, her gaze froze on his handsome and deep face.
"You... "
As she spoke immediately, it could be seen in the warm sunshine that a surprised look appeared in her eyes at a lighting speed.
"Are you awake?"
She was so surprised that she almost jumped up.
In the end, it was Jara who reached out to help her up so that she didn't fall onto the ground.
