Chapter 918 No Right To Speak

Coby waved his hand to dismiss Rowan and said, "You may go."
Then, Rowan bowed and left.
After Rowan had left, Coby sat for a while. Then, he got up and walked to the back of the house.
The manor was old and designed in a bygone era. There were many rooms in the front and a big garden at the back.
The garden was full of rare flowers with several ancient trees. There was also a rock formation giving an ancient aura.
There was a stone path that Coby followed to a rocky outcrop in the middle of the garden.
Then, he pressed against the rocky outcrop a few times. Suddenly, the rock split apart to reveal the entrance to a tunnel.
He quickly walked into the tunnel.
The air inside the tunnel was cool and moist, and he could feel a cool breeze blowing against his face.
He followed a winding stone path that headed downwards. After a couple of minutes, he reached the end of the tunnel into a cavern.
The cavern was a big stone house packed with ice.  A crystal coffin was laid in the center of the house.
Anyone would be shocked by this strange place.
Inside the crystal coffin lay a white-haired old woman.
What was surprising was that the old woman's face looked like Emmeline's.
Except that the old woman's hair was all white, and her face was full of wrinkles. At first glance, she looked like in her seventies or eighties.
There she lay quietly with a serene look on her face. Coby walked to her side, looked at her sleeping face, and touched her hair gently.
"Cara."
He murmured softly.
A very strange situation indeed, a young man was whispering the name "Cara", the nickname of an eighty years old woman lying in a coffin.
It was nothing strange to Coby as his lips curled into a smile, and he whispered, "Just a little longer, and I'll be able to help you wake up, Cara."
Naturally, the old woman's eyes remained closed without any sign of life in her.
As he combed her hair slowly, he told himself, "Cara, that person will get for us what I was unable to get. You will be able to wake up when we have collected all the twelve pieces of the Jade of Heaven. Then, I'll bring you to travel around the present world. You will like that, won't you?"
"Do you know that this world is so different from the one we lived in? The world now is filled with many novel things that you'll like. You'll know when you wake up."
"Cara, I love you. I'll always accompany you and wait for you."
Then, he bent over and gently kissed her forehead.
After that, he turned around and left.
Meanwhile, over the other side.
When the territories of the Icarus Association were settled, there was no reason for Anderson and Clarissa to stay on.
They could not stay away for too long, as there were internal matters to take care of. So, they prepared themselves to leave for home.
The Jordan and the Holland families used to be close friends. However, conflicting interests soon soured the relationship. So much so that everyone believed it was a matter of time before the two families engaged in open conflict.
This unexpected opportunity to cooperate and be in close contact seemed to have closed the wounds and ended in an unusual tacit understanding.
It was clear to Clarissa that Anderson did not dislike Jara like he used to.
Jara's opinion of Anderson also changed for the better after the efforts put in by Anderson and Clarissa to secure Emmeline's safe rescue.
Inexplicably, these two formerly deadly enemies now grudgingly respect each other.
Of course, both of them were smart enough to know that working together would bring more benefits than fighting each other.
There was now a tacit understanding between them, something that Clarissa was happy to see.
The night before Anderson and Clarissa left for home, Jara threw a farewell party.
The venue for the party was in the castle. There were more guests than the usual crowd this time. Apart from Jara, Emmeline, and the Anderson couple, Jameson and Lauren too came over from F Country.
Lauren had planned to go back to Ascijian in two days. When she found out that Clarissa was leaving the next day, she changed her flight to return with Clarissa.
So, Jameson and Lauren came all the way to Blink City from F Country to meet up with Clarissa and return to Ascijian together.
The lights were up, and the castle was bursting with life.
Aron brought a few friends and his young girlfriend as well. Their relationship was not formally announced, but the way they treated each other said it all.
During dinner, Emmeline teased them about when the wedding bells would toll.
However, Aron was smart.
Instantly, he replied that his wedding bells would toll after Emmeline's wedding.
Aron's words took the wind out of Emmeline's sails as she turned red and kept quiet.
Unsurprisingly, Jara was very happy hearing that.
With his lips curled into a smile, Jara asked Aron, "Are you serious? When we get married, you'll immediately follow suit?"
Whenever he was challenged, Aron had always wanted to win regardless.
Immediately, he made a dare, "Of course. A real man must keep his words. If you get married today, we'll get married tomorrow. How about that? Jara, so when do you plan to get married?"
Emmeline glared at Aron. She was afraid that Jara would say something shocking, she quickly interjected, "No such thing. Don't listen to his nonsense."
Then, she quickly changed the subject. She turned and spoke to Clarissa,
"This steak is delicious. Come on, Clarissa, try a piece."
As she spoke, she promptly dropped a piece of steak on Clarissa's plate.
Clarissa smiled and stated, "I can't eat anymore. I'm full."
Immediately, Anderson glanced at her and disputed, "You didn't eat much. How come you are full? Come on, eat a little more."
Lately, Clarissa watched what she ate because she thought she put on weight.
Unfortunately, Anderson disagreed and found all sorts of reasons to make her eat more.
There was no other way for Clarissa, and she could not refuse Anderson. Hence, she was quiet during mealtime.
Clarissa pouted and disagreed, "I ate a lot tonight. Don't act like feeding a pig."
Anderson laughed, "I'll be happy if you can eat like a pig!"
Their sweet talk made Aron's stomach turn.
He then made an exaggerated gesture and bantered, "All right, you two. I'm getting goosebumps. You're not newly married. Quit being lovey-dovey."
Anderson glanced at him. "Those who are not married should keep quiet."
