Chapter 1015 To Be Honest

"Jameson and I came up with this question when we were chatting."
Anderson's demeanor was indifferent. His finger softly traced a circle around the cup's rim as he added calmly, "I'm not sure if Jara and the others have considered it. It's just that I was thinking about it the other day and got a shiver down my spine. It's making my hair stand on end."
Both he and Clarissa felt the same way.
Her facial expression abruptly shifted. After a long silence, she suddenly stood up.
"I'll call Emmeline right away."
"There's no rush."
Anderson stopped her.
"It's difficult to convey this over the phone. Aren't you guys meeting tomorrow morning? You can tell her about it tomorrow."
Clarissa considered it for a while before agreeing with him.
Anyway, there was no need to fret about it all night, no matter how urgent it was.
As a result, she abandoned her plan to contact Emmeline right away. She drank the milk that Anderson brought, washed up, and went to bed.
The next day.
It was almost nine o'clock in the morning when she awoke.
She slept more and more as she became pregnant. She used to get up around 7.30 a.m., but now she frequently slept in.
However, everyone was aware of her pregnancy and was very understanding. Hence, they did not wait for her to have breakfast in case she felt bad.
Her breakfast was kept warm in the kitchen, so she could eat whenever she awoke.
Clarissa went downstairs after changing her clothing. She saw Elicia and Matteo in the living room, drinking tea and chatting.
The two old ladies seemed to have endless topics to talk about.
Seeing this, she couldn't help but smile. She then approached them and greeted them.
When she learned that the three kids were playing in the garden, she turned around and walked toward the garden.
Three children were playing games in the beautiful garden.
She had no idea why the two boys who hadn't seemed to deal with the situation yesterday seemed to be alright today after a short night.
Soon, Anderson walked over from not far away.
"Hey, you're awake?"
He scowled as he looked at Clarissa's thin clothing. "Why are you wearing so little?"
Clarissa came to her senses and responded, smiling, "It's not cold."
She turned around and stepped into the house as she spoke.
Noticing this, Anderson had no choice but to follow. "Even if it's not cold, you should still dress warmly. It's almost winter. Don't joke around with your own body."
Then, he ordered the servant next to him to bring a thick coat without giving her a chance to speak.
When Clarissa saw this, she couldn't help but chuckle.
"Why do I have the feeling that you're more anxious than Grandma right now?"
Anderson glared at her.
"You're turning your nose up at me just like that?"
"Yup, but I like it," Clarissa answered with a smile.
As she spoke, she reached out to hold Anderson's arm and added affectionately, "Well... You're my lovely husband, after all."
When he heard this sentence, his face, which had been glum before, instantly brightened.
"That's more like it."
Afterward, they walked into the kitchen intimately. They met Lauren and Jameson in the middle of their trip, who were shaking their heads.
"You guys have been married for four or five years. People who aren't aware will think you've only recently begun dating!"
Clarissa gave her a sidelong glance and murmured, "Please don't make fun of me. Isn't that the case for you as well?"
Lauren exclaimed with a giggle, "Okay, I'll stop teasing you. I've arranged for breakfast to be prepared for you. We'll leave together after that."
Clarissa nodded.
Elicia had prepared a special meal for Clarissa since she was pregnant.
Clarissa finished her meal quickly and then left with Anderson and the others.
She had previously contacted Emmeline while she was eating.
Knowing that they were waiting in a five-star hotel nearby, Clarissa was not in a hurry. Regardless, they had informed their family that they would not be returning for lunch.
Soon, the car came to a halt at the hotel's entrance.
Anderson assisted her out of the car, and they proceeded to the restaurant on the second floor, where Emmeline and Jara were waiting.
Sitting in a VIP room in the restaurant, Emmeline and Jara were calmly waiting for them.
There was a window in the room, and it faced the hotel's main entrance.
As a result, when Clarissa and the others exited the car, the two of them had already seen it.
Emmeline was overjoyed and wanted to go out and get them. Jara didn't have a choice but to follow her out the door. After that, they cheerfully entered the room.
Soon, the waiters served tea and desserts. They then exchanged greetings since they hadn't seen each other in a long time.
After a long while, they got to the point.
"I've sorted out Mr. Ramsey's information. I've just emailed it to you guys. Have a look!"
Lauren said.
They took their phones out of their pockets and checked their emails.
After reading through it, Jara raised his eyebrows.
"Is he engage in the finance sector?"
"Yes." Lauren nodded. "However, in recent years, he has developed an interest in antiques. I suppose he collected Jade of Heaven when the rumors surfaced. Well, I don't think he's aware that there are a total of twelve jades. He always thought that there was only one. So, once he learned that Blink City had already auctioned one, he assumed that the one he was holding was a fake and paid little attention to it. When I overheard his conversation with an uncle the other day, I discovered he has one piece with him."
Listening to her words, Jara nodded his head.
Clarissa gave a kind smile. "If that's the case, should we tell him if the piece he's holding is authentic?"
As soon as she finished her sentence, they twisted their expressions all at once.
After all, the people present were all experienced businessmen.
Even Lauren, who had no experience running a business, had learned a couple about it from her husband and family, who were all businessmen.
They instinctively knew that not telling him the jade was real was the right course of action.
They'd secretly acquire the jade. Then, Mr. Ramsey could do nothing about the jade once it was in their hands, even if he knew about it later.
However, this was not always the case.
Perhaps this group of people would not be able to come together if they truly placed their desires first.
Thinking of this, Jara fell silent for a moment.
"I'll talk to him. It's best if he's willing to hand over the jade. If not, I'll think of other ways."
Clarissa agreed with a nod.
"Yup, I agree. It's not a good idea to deceive him since he's the Ethanbez Family's uncle. I think Jameson should act as the matter's lobbyist. Maybe the result will be better."
Everyone's gaze was drawn to Jameson when she stated that.
At that moment, Jameson was holding a cup and drinking tea.
When he heard that, he glanced at them and finally nodded his head.
"Okay, sure."
Then, Clarissa pondered for a moment. Seeing that no one had anything else to say, she questioned what she and Anderson thought of last night.
