Chapter 914 Letting Your Imagination Run Wild

When Emmeline finished the bowl of medicine, Jara summoned the servants to clear the empty bowl.
Then, he sat down by the bed and asked Emmeline, "How much do you remember what happened over the past two weeks?"
As soon as he mentioned this, Emmeline's face turned pale.
Her eyes were full of bewilderment staring at Jara.
Her adverse reaction pained Jara, and his mood darkened.
He knew that she would not remember much of what had happened.
One of the puzzling questions was why Emmeline was left alone during the time she was imprisoned.
Emmeline said that she was not abused, and no one interrogated her.
Apart from these, she could not recall anything else.
She did not know why or what happened during those two weeks. Of course, Jara did not know either as he did not know what she went through.
For the moment, Jara had not brought this up with anyone, not even Anderson or Clarissa.
Then, there was another more important question.
Everything about Emmeline was the same, she looked the same, and she behaved the same.
Somehow, Jara's gut feeling was that Emmeline was behaving differently than before.
It was not some illusion or his wild imagination, but he could feel it in her eyes and her expression.
Again, he kept this to himself so as not to alarm anyone else.
It was his intuition at the moment and may not prove to be true. Perhaps, he was just too suspicious.
So, he could not bring this suspicion up with anyone even though he was certain that Emmeline must have some adverse experience while in a coma.
While he was thinking through this, he comforted her, "It's nothing. Don't let your imagination run wild."
Emmeline nodded blankly.
Jara did not ask any more questions and accompanied her for while.
Shortly, Emmeline felt sleepy, perhaps due to the drugs still within her body.
Jara helped her to lay down on her bed.
Not long after, Emmeline fell asleep.
When she was fast asleep, Jara quietly left her room.
In the garden outside, Clarissa and Anderson were having their breakfast.
Everyone was relieved that Emmeline was back safely and was in a good mood.
Meanwhile, the Icarus Association was not an immediate problem.
The Icarus Association was being attacked from all sides and was in a precarious situation. They would not need to expend much effort to destroy the Icarus Association.
Now their eyes were trained on the Marsh family as their target.
If they were correct and this was all planned by the Marsh family, then the destruction of the Icarus Association was not the end but the beginning.
Very soon, the real war would start.
Since it was still early in the morning, there was no need to rush.
They were enjoying their tea when Jara walked out to the garden.
Clarissa smiled, waved at him, and asked, "Why don't you accompany your little Emmeline?"
As Jara walked over, he answered flatly, "She is sleeping after taking her medicine."
Anderson checked the time on his watch and said in surprise, " She's sleeping again?"
"That's right," Jara answered.
Clarissa was also surprised.
She could not help but laugh, "Is she still weak? Didn't she just wake up, and now she is sleeping again?"
Her laughter made Jara start to worry again. He frowned and explained, "Probably it's the residue effects from the sleeping pills. The doctor mentioned that such effects should last a few more days."
The two of them were relieved when they heard that.
"It's great that she will recover. She is back from the jaws of death. All she needs now is to convalesce."
Jara nodded in agreement.
The three of them sat together and briefly discussed the current situation and the next course of action.
The Icarus Association was now a spent force. At this time, no party would give up the fight.
Earlier in the morning, Anderson had contacted Jameson while Clarissa contacted the Sapphire family. Both Jameson and the Sapphire family wanted to take advantage of the situation and seize all territories belonging to the Icarus Association.
Anderson and Clarissa had no objections. However, they told Jameson and the Sapphire family they wanted to be sure and investigate whether the Marsh family was behind this matter.
Jameson and Dakota Hampden were both surprised, but they were not worried whether the Marsh family was involved.
After all, it was not one family after the Icarus Association but all of the families together. Even if the Marsh family wanted to make any move, the Marsh family should consider whether all the families together could be defeated in one fell swoop.
After discussion, they agreed on the final plan.
Then, they returned to their rooms.
When Emmeline woke up, it was already noon.
Jara was not in the room. The curtains were half-drawn and let in the sunlight warming up the room.
Emmeline got out of bed and walked outside.
The sound of laughter came from the garden as she approached the door.
After walking down a long corridor, she arrived at a balcony overlooking the garden. From the balcony, she saw Clarissa walking two of Jara's dogs in the garden.
It was a Golden Retriever and a shepherd dog. She was walking backward as she teased the dogs with food.
At the side was Anderson sitting and looking affectionately at Clarissa.
Dogs were Clarissa's favorite animals, and she regarded them as the most loyal.
She thoroughly enjoyed playing with dogs.
The two dogs were fond of her too and were chasing for the food in her hands.
Clarissa looked up every so often and saw Emmeline standing on the balcony on the first floor.
Then, she gave all the food to the dogs. She looked up at Emmeline with a big smile and called out to her, "You're awake now! The sun is nice and warm. Do you want to come down and stroll around?"
After a moment of hesitation, Emmeline nodded and answered, "Sure, why not?"
She turned around and went downstairs.
Meanwhile, Jara was frantic. There was no sign of Emmeline in the whole building.
Without a second thought, Emmeline went straight to the back garden. Anderson knew that it was inconvenient for a man to be around two ladies sharing secrets, so he found an excuse and left.
Together with the two dogs, Clarissa and Emmeline strolled around the garden leisurely. Clarissa asked Emmeline.
"How are you feeling, now that you have woken up?"
Perhaps Emmeline slept for too long, she felt that her body was out of rhythm.
