Chapter 1083 He Blames Himself

Staring at her, Anderson didn't know what to say.
Instead, he asked with concern, "Are you hungry? I'll ask someone to prepare you some food."
"Okay." Clarissa nodded.
After Anderson went out, she scooted over, propped herself up, and looked at the twins in swaddling clothes.
At that moment, the two plump babies were clenching their small white hands while sleeping peacefully.
Looking at them, Clarissa was overjoyed, and all the negative emotions caused by the pain instantly disappeared.
More than ten minutes later, Anderson returned with her food and a doctor.
When the doctor saw that Clarissa was awake, he checked her wound and her condition.
Once he made sure that she was fine, he called a lactation consultant to help her with breastfeeding.
Then, he gave them some important advice before leaving.
After that, Anderson placed the food on the small table in front of her.
When Clarissa was about to sit up, he stopped her.
"Don't move. I'll feed you." He put a pillow behind her and helped her up.
Hearing that, Clarissa felt embarrassed. A blush crept up her face, and she glared at him.
"I am not disabled, and my hands are fine. So, I don't need anyone to feed me."
However, just as she was about to get the soup, Anderson took it away.
With a serious face, he bellowed, "No! Don't move."
Upon seeing him acting this way, she realized something and burst out laughing.
She noticed that Anderson was acting out of guilt after seeing how hard it was for her to deliver a child.
With that, she sighed inwardly.
Since he wanted to atone for his sins, she should give him a chance, or else he would do something more surprising than she could ever imagine.
Therefore, Clarissa decided to stay silent and indulged herself in his care.
Gently, Anderson fed her some food. As her appetite was bad, she only ate less than half a bowl.
After lunch, the Lactation Consultant came.
Naturally, this was yet another difficult process.
When Anderson watched from the side, he was heartbroken.
However, he also understood that this was a process that a mother had to go through. No one else could replace her.
At the thought of this, his eyes darkened.
After completing a series of processes, Clarissa was already sweating profusely.
While his heart ached for her, Anderson took a towel and wiped her body before carrying the twins to her.
Once she finished breastfeeding the babies, he was relieved.
As she had just given birth, she didn't have much physical strength.
Hence, she instantly fell asleep.
The twins also fell asleep in her arms. Seeing this, Anderson carefully carried them and put them back in the cradle.
Then, he sat down and accompanied them.
After sleeping for a while, Clarissa woke up.
The moment she opened her eyes, she saw Anderson sat in front of the cradle while talking to the twins.
Feeling curious, she raised her eyebrows, pricked up her ears, and listened carefully.
"When you grow up, you must be filial to your mom and be good to her, understand? Otherwise, not only will your mom be sad, but I will also teach you a lesson!" he warned.
His tone was fierce, and as if the twins understood what he said, they burst into tears.
At once, Anderson—who was originally full of fierceness—was suddenly at a loss.
As he was afraid that they would wake Clarissa up, he carried them in a panic.
However, it wouldn't be easy to coax them because he had just scared them.
Not only their crying became louder, but it was so loud that the whole world could hear them.
Fortunately, Clarissa liked quiet surroundings, so the VIP ward that she lived in was soundproof.
Otherwise, the doctors and nurses outside might hear them.
Seeing that the twins in his arms were still crying, he fumbled.
On the other hand, Clarissa felt amused by his reaction and chuckled.
"Oh, stop scaring them. They are your children, after all."
When Anderson heard these words, he froze.
Then, he turned around like a child in guilt and looked at her with grievances.
"You're awake."
"Bring them to me!" Clarissa laughed.
Judging from the situation, he knew that he wouldn't be able to coax them today.
Having no choice, he brought the twins to her.
Strangely, they stopped crying as soon as Clarissa held them.
When Anderson saw that, his mouth widened in surprise.
It was as if they could recognize people at such a young age. Did that mean they liked their mother more than their father?
With a smile, Clarissa shot him a glare. "You're their father, after all. How can you scare them? They're still so young. Can they even understand what you're saying?"
Hearing that, Anderson snorted coldly and retorted, "I don't care if they understand or not. They should learn how to behave as early as they could."
Since they had caused her to suffer so much, he should give them a good lesson.
At a glance, Clarissa could see through his thoughts. She was annoyed and amused.
"You should think carefully before blaming them. They didn't make me suffer. You did."
As soon as she blurted those words, she realized that something was wrong and immediately stopped talking.
At the same time, her pretty face turned red with embarrassment.
Upon seeing that, Anderson narrowed his eyes slightly and laughed.
After that, he sat beside Clarissa, put his arm around her shoulder, and said softly, "Clarissa, we'll never have a child again. I promise."
With his own eyes, he had seen the pain of giving birth.
When Marf was born, she was also in pain, but the whole process was relatively smooth.
Unlike this time...
Hearing this, Clarissa ridicule, "Are you saying that you're going to castrate yourself?"
At once, Anderson froze, and his lower part felt cold.
With that, he harrumphed, "You don't have to worry about that. I have my way."
After hearing his words, Clarissa didn't think much about it and went to play with the twins.
On the other side, Anne and Marf had just finished school. Once they knew that their younger brother and sister were born, they pestered Carlos and Matteo to bring them to the hospital.
As Matteo and Carlos couldn't stand their pestering, they took them to Clarissa.
Fortunately, Anne and Marf were very sensible. They knew that Clarissa had just given birth and needed to rest, so they did not make too much noise and behaved themselves. Besides, they even communicate by whispering.
"Anne, are they our brother and sister? Why are they so small?"
Marf was leaning against the cradle while staring at the twins with curiosity.
