Chapter 913 Just The Two Of Them In Their Own World

Ever since Emmeline was rescued, Jara kept vigil by her bedside. No one could get him to leave, not even when the doctor needed to examine Emmeline.
Everyone let him be as they understood how difficult it was for him to snatch Emmeline back.
They tried to persuade him, telling him that Emmeline was not in danger and needed to rest. At the same time, the hour was late and he should take a rest. However, all these fell on deaf ears.
The doctor left after administering medicine to her and leaving the morning dosage behind.
Finally, Jara was alone with Emmeline in the room.
He was overcome by emotions as he sat by her bed and held her hand.
No one knew that only now he found out how precious Emmeline was to him.
These two weeks, he was beside himself with fear, although he appeared calm and composed as he planned the rescue.
The fear that he failed to find Emmeline, something bad happened to her, or even worse, he only found her corpse.
Although he felt pain with her present condition, he was also grateful that she was back safe and sound.
"Thank goodness, she is back with me." He thought to himself.
From now on, he would never bring up all those silly arguments and grudges again.
No harm would befall her again, and he would always cherish her.
With a whirlwind of thoughts in his head, Jara sat and kept vigil beside Emmeline's bed.
The next morning.
Early in the morning, Clarissa woke up and went to the main building to check if Emmeline had woken up from her coma.
Just as she entered the hall of the main building, she ran into Uncle Poick coming down the stairs.
Uncle Poick was a familiar face as she had stayed in the castle for some time.
Upon seeing him, she beamed and greeted him, "Good morning, Uncle Poick."
As for Uncle Poick, he was fond of Clarissa too. Before Anderson and Clarissa came to the castle, Uncle Poick had never met them and only knew that the Jordan family and the Holland family did not get on well.
When the time came, Jara would inherit the Holland family, so he viewed members of the Jordan family with suspicion.
As he got to know Anderson and Clarissa, these members of the Jordan family turned out to be nice people.
Much like Jara and Miss Illington, there could not be better people.
So, he became good friends with them, letting go of his past prejudice.
Uncle Poick was all smiles and asked, "Mrs. Jordan, you're up early. Are you here to see Miss Illington?"
Clarissa smiled and nodded, "Yes, is she awake now?"
As soon as she mentioned Emmeline, Uncle Poick grinned from ear to ear and answered, "She has awakened. Jara is with her now in the room."
Clarissa glanced upstairs and asked, "Is it all right if I go upstairs and see her now?"
It would be embarrassing to walk in when they were sharing a private moment.
Uncle Poick knew what she was hinting and smiled, "It's all right."
Only then did Clarissa feel relieve, and she replied, "Then, I'll go up."
"Yes. Go right ahead."
Then, Clarissa went up to the room where Emmeline was brought to yesterday.
A calm voice answered as she knocked on the door, "Come in."
The first person she saw was the woman sitting on the bed when she pushed open the door and went in.
By the side of the bed was Jara administering some medicine to Emmeline.
The doctor had asserted that Emmeline did not suffer any physical injury, but her mental health was badly affected by the sleeping pills. The doctor did not prescribe any Western medicine, just some Chinese herbs to calm her down and restore her vitality.
At this moment, Jara was patiently feeding her with a spoon.
When Jara saw Clarissa, he stopped and asked, "What brings you here?"
Clarissa smiled and replied, "I'm here to see how Miss Illington is."
As Clarissa spoke, she approached the bed.
When Emmeline was brought in the night before, she was in a coma and the hour was late, so Clarissa did not have a good look at her.
Now that Emmeline had woken up, Clarissa could tell that she was indeed pretty.
Pleased with what she saw, Clarissa gave a small laugh and said, "Looks like you have almost fully recovered."
Emmeline looked at her blankly for a few seconds, then asked, "You are..."
Quickly, Jara made the introduction, "She's Clarissa Chapman."
After a brief pause, he continued, "Anderson Jordan's wife."
Immediately, Emmeline's eyes widened as something in her memory triggered. She exclaimed,
"Oh, I remember. Your code name is Seven!"
Clarissa smiled and nodded, "Yes, that's me."
Immediately, Emmeline facepalmed and looked embarrassed, "I'm so glad to meet you. Do you know that you used to be my idol?"
It was a pleasant surprise to Clarissa, and she exclaimed, "Really, I wouldn't know that."
However, Jara was not comfortable with their conversation, and he coldly cut Clarissa off.
"That will be all. You have met Emmeline. Can you please leave?"
His unfriendly words caught Clarissa off guard, and she retorted.
"Hey! Why are you chasing me away? I'm here for Emmeline and not for you. So don't use that angry tone on me."
Emmeline smiled at their exchange and explained, "Don't bother with him. I just woke up. My head is still fuzzy. When did you arrive here?"
Then, Clarissa told Emmeline the reasons she and Anderson were here, as well as the recent events that happened.
As Clarissa gave Emmeline a concise version of what happened, her anger towards Jara slowly subsided. Clarissa realized that Jara had been working his back out to rescue Emmeline.
It seemed that Jara was willing to sacrifice everything to rescue Emmeline.
Now that Emmeline was rescued and woke up from her coma, naturally, Jara would want to spend more time alone with her.
Suddenly, it struck Clarissa that she was disturbing Jara's and Emmeline's time together.
The thought made her smile in embarrassment, and she said,
"Well, both of you carry on with your conversation. I have things to take care of and won't bother you any longer."
With a nod, Emmeline replied, "I'll look for you when I'm better."
Clarissa waved goodbye and smiled, then left.
When Clarissa was a safe distance away, Emmeline turned and glared at Jara.
Showing her displeasure, she asked him, "Why did you treat her that way earlier? After all, she is a guest. Don't you think this is rude?"
Jara looked at her with deep concentration.
The emotions in his eyes were all mixed up with joy, gratitude, and others as well.
Emmeline was stunned and could not understand what he was thinking.
Mystified, she touched her face and asked, "What's wrong? Is there something on my face?"
Jara replied in a hoarse voice, "No."
Then, he took another spoonful of medicine and told her, "Here, swallow this."
Emmeline quietly did as he said and swallowed the medicine.
