Chapter 1070 Her Heart Sank

"Although I don't know why you lied to me, I know you must have your reasons. I am happy to be able to see you again. Tell Anne and Marf that I love them."
After she said that, she was about to jump into the sea without hesitation.
However, regardless of how fast she moved, she could not beat Coby. Before she could even take a step, Coby pulled her back forcefully.
Once again, he held her tightly with his hand.
Clarissa's tears came down at once. She was trying hard to break free while saying, "Coby, let me go! I don't want to do this deal. Let me go!"
Of course, Coby did not listen to her. Tightly locking her neck with his hand, he looked at Anderson and said in a low voice, "Anderson, you only have one chance. To exchange or not, be decisive if you're a man!"
On the other hand, Clarissa looked at him with tears in her eyes and shook her head desperately.
In fact, whether she made a deal with Coby or not, the end result wouldn't be any different. From the moment Coby kidnapped her, he had decided to use her to exchange for the Jade of Heaven.
He had only chosen a milder way to do it.
But he didn't expect her to be so disobedient. In this case, he could only do it by force!
By this time, clearly, he couldn't care less about paying a debt of gratitude. In his eyes, the Jade of Heaven was the only thing he could think of.
As long as he had the Jade of Heaven, he would be able to save Cara and live happily ever after with her.
At the thought of that. his eyes lit up crazily.
Once again, he shouted sternly, "Anderson! Speak!"
Looking at him deeply, Anderson replied in a low voice, "Okay, I'll change it."
With a pause, he added. "But the pieces of Jade of Heaven are indeed not with me right now. If you want it, you have to give me some time, and I'll send someone to retrieve it."
This request was quite reasonable.
Therefore, Coby did not refuse.
In a deep voice, he replied, "Someone! Tie up all three of them."
Anderson didn't resist. Seeing that, Jara and Emmeline didn't understand what was going on, but they didn't resist as well.
Soon, the three of them were tied up.
Using his phone, Anderson called to instruct his subordinate to pick up the other pieces of the Jade of Heaven where he had left in his room in Karc. After that, he hung up the phone.
When Clarissa heard his orders, her heart sank.
Initially, there was still a glimmer of hope in her heart, hoping that Coby was lying to her, and hoping that Anderson didn't actually possess the few pieces of the Jade of Heaven.
But at that moment, her last glimmer of hope was completely shattered.
Perhaps it was for convenience, or perhaps it was for the sake of getting the Jade of Heaven quicker, after they were tied up, Coby didn't stay on the sea. Instead, he instructed the captain to steer the ship toward the shore.
An hour later, they were all back at the villa that Clarissa was locked up.
At the same time, Sierra was also brought to Clarissa.
As soon as Sierra saw Clarissa, she was extremely anxious and asked worriedly, "Clarissa, are you alright? Are you hurt?"
In resonse, Clarissa shook her head.
They were locked up separately with Anderson and the rest. Since they were not in the same room, they could not speak to each other.
On the other hand, Sierra didn't know that Anderson was already here. But she knew that there was a commotion outside just now.
Therefore, she asked, "What happened just now? I heard Anderson's voice. Is he here?"
Hearing that, Clarissa nodded.
After a while, she finally uttered. "Mom, he lied to me!"
Sierra was startled. Only then did she notice the dried-off tears on Clarissa's face.
Her heart sank slightly as she asked, "Is it because of the Jade of Heaven?"
With a nod, Clarissa's tears rolled down silently.
"I thought that Coby was only trying to provoke me. When he helped me to remember my past, I was still unwilling to believe what I saw ten years ago was true."
"But it was not until I saw Anderson admit it with my own eyes that I knew he had actually known Coby a long time ago. On top of that, he had known me a long time ago too and we had a history together back then."
"Do you know what's ridiculous? I have been tracking down the group of people who wanted to kill me ten years ago. I investigated for a long time, and there was a period of time when I was haunted by nightmares every night. He was watching me when it happened. He knew the truth, but he didn't say anything."
"He left me wandering around like a headless fly. Mom, I know I shouldn't hate him, but, right now, I really hate him. I don't know why he had to hide it from me, or perhaps he didn't love me at all and didn't trust me?"
When Sierra heard this, her face sank.
"Don't talk nonsense!" In a low voice, she reminded Clarissa. "Anderson's love for you is obvious. He might not say it, but you can see it in his eyes."
"There is nothing to doubt about his feelings for you. If he doesn't tell you about this, he must have his own reasons. After all, Coby's identity is special. Maybe he just doesn't want to get you involved in this chaos and doesn't want you to be in danger."
"You have to understand him. Don't overthink it and most of all, don't panic. After all, we are all on the same boat now. Why would Coby tell you all this? Isn't it just to disrupt your relationship? You must not let him get what he wants!"
In truth, Clarissa knew that this was Coby's plot against them. After all, she was not stupid.
But sometimes this was how the world works. Clarissa knew clearly that this was a scheme and a trap, but she just couldn't control herself to not overthink things nor to willingly fall into the trap.
It was all because she cared! It was exactly of this that she wouldn't be able to ignore being deceived and betrayed.
The deeper her love for him, the harder it was to tolerate being deceived.
She understood that if those lies were true, the damage would be doubled!
Subconsciously, everyone would protect themselves, and Clarissa was no exception.
Closing her eyes, she raised her hands and buried her face in her arms, as she sat there crying in silence.
Seeing that, Sierra didn't know what to say.
She was not good at comforting others.
If she was really good at comforting others, she wouldn't have been so closed up for so many years because of what had happened back then and refused to make contact with the outside world.
At the thought of that, Sierra let out a sigh and didn't say anything further.
