Chapter 947 His Past
They made their way back to Mr. Gill's villa.
This time, everyone's mood was different.
Clarissa and the others arrived at the airport about half an hour ago. They were about to board the plane when Anderson received a phone call. Immediately after, he told them to get off the plane and come here together.
It turned out that Anderson had sensed something was wrong with Mr. Gill while they were in the villa. Despite his outward candor, he was hiding something from them.
Unlike Clarissa, he did not approach Mr. Gill personally. Instead, he quietly arranged for two guys to stand guard near his villa, waiting to see what he would do.
Unexpectedly, the news came as soon as they left.
Mr. Gill was alleged to have left the villa in the middle of the night, walking to the village's border.
Anderson became aware that something was awry. When he brought them over, he happened to see Mr. Gill and the man in black arguing.
At this point, what else did they not understand?
Clarissa had no idea the outcome would be even more startling than she had imagined.
Everyone was sitting in the villa's living room at this point, and the atmosphere was unpleasant.
There were rapid footsteps outside.
Soon, Jara pushed the door open and entered.
Emmeline walked over in a hurry and asked, "How is it? Did you manage to catch him?"
With a sullen face, Jara shook his head.
Anderson was not surprised by the outcome.
The man was clearly not an average Joe. Besides, the sky was dark, and Jara was unfamiliar with the surroundings. As a result, it was logical that he was unable to capture the man.
Then, he turned to look at Mr. Gill.
"Mr. Gill, shouldn't you explain this matter to us?"
Mr. Gill's face also darkened.
He no longer had the gloating and stubborn expression on his face at this point. Sitting there, he was as still and silent as a statue.
Clarissa added in a low voice, "Mr. Gill, we are now aware of the situation, and we'll not let it go. Plus, we will eventually discover the truth, whether you tell it or not. Well, we can afford it since we still have a few more months. But can you or your great-granddaughter afford it?"
As soon as she finished her sentence, Mr. Gill shivered.
After a long while, he sighed.
"I know I can't keep this from you guys any longer. Actually, I don't want to keep it secret either. I'm simply trying to figure out how to tell you all about this."
The group of people frowned at the same time.
He remained silent for a few moments before slowly opening his mouth.
"Let us begin 60 years ago..."
It was told the situation was in shambles 60 years ago. Mr. Gill was an orphan who struggled to make a living.
Later on, he met Matteo and another man by chance. They were on excellent terms and supported each other in their hectic lives.
After Matteo married Carlos, she left them. They, of course, wished their good friend well. Later, they didn't disturb her because of their different identities and paths.
As a result, the two men became brothers. They shared their joys and sorrows. After some chaotic years, they finally managed to get through it together.
They made a lot of money by selling antiques. Initially, they believed that if they had enough money, they could seek a place to settle down and do business together. However, there were disputes in the end.
It was inevitable that there would be many illegal activities while conducting the business. Some were so serious that they ordered the beheading of someone.
Although they made a lot of money, they did it at the expense of their lives.
Both of them later married and had children. At that point, Mr. Gill could understand his buddy's desire to settle down with his family.
However, Mr. Gill couldn't understand why he disclosed to his partner everything the two of them had done over the years.
In his opinion, it was a significant hidden threat.
After all, he had always believed that there was no such thing as an absolute secret. Even if they were husband and wife, things worked the same way.
The only people who would not betray were those who were doing it together or those who were dead.
As a result, he sparked some murderous intent back then. Because of this matter, the two of them had a major disagreement, and they eventually split up in turmoil.
Later, Mr. Gill unintentionally found that the brother of the man's wife was an officer.
At that time, he panicked and was dubious. Once, he drank too much and planned to visit his friend and let him handle this matter carefully to avoid any trouble.
However, it was unfortunate that his pal was not at home. His wife was the only one at home, carrying the newborn baby.
Afterward, Mr. Gill quarreled with her. In a fit of rage, he remembered the threat posed by this woman and accidentally killed her.
He, too, was caught aback as he was only half sober. His friend happened to return shortly after, and when he found his wife lying in a pool of blood, he fought with Mr. Gill.
Mr. Gill had been practicing martial arts since he was a child, and he was almost undefeatable. So, he also killed that brother of his.
In the end, only the newborn was left.
He intended to kill the baby as well, but perhaps because he was soft-hearted at the point, or perhaps because he thought a newborn couldn't be a threat to him, he didn't care and staggered away.
That night, he packed his belongings and left the city. From then on, he changed his appearance and never mentioned the incident again.
Until later, both of his sons and daughters-in-law died in car accidents.
He had no reason to suspect anything at the time because he and his sons were not in the same city. Moreover, he examined the corpses and found no abnormalities.
Later on, it was the death of his grandson and his wife.
This time, he discovered that something was amiss.
Although they died in a car accident, he discovered that it not merely an accident.
Someone had done something to their car. Thus, when they braked on the highway, they directly crashed out of the railings and rolled to the bottom of the hillside, causing them to die.
At the time, he became skeptical, but he made no connection between this and the incident 60 years before.
After all, in his opinion, that incident had been over for so many years. No one else knew about it except for him.
The baby was only one month old. He couldn't possibly recognize the murderer of his parents, whether he had survived or not.
Hence, he had never linked the car accident to that event.
