Chapter 968 Well Aware
With a heavy heart, Clarissa stood there while holding the jade pendant.
After a long while, she took a deep breath and walked out with the jade pendant in her hand.
At the same time, on the other side.
In the manor behind the Stone-gambling Event Hall.
Since early in the morning, Robert realized that Sierra was looking uneasy. She had been rummaging through the house, trying to find something.
Seeing that, he frowned and asked, "What are you looking for?"
"Robert, my jade pendant is missing."
Robert's face changed.
"Which jade pendant?"
"The one I carry with me since I was a kid."
When Robert heard that, he got panicked and immediately helped her to search.
As he was searching, he comforted her, "Don't worry, I'll help you to look for it. In the meantime, try and recall where was the last time you see it. When you remember, we shall go there together."
At once, Sierra stopped what she was doing and tried to recall.
However, after thinking for a long time, she still had no clue.
With that, she shook her head. "I don't know. Since Dad gave me this jade pendant, I've been wearing it for years, and I've never taken it off. As if it has become one with me, I never really pay attention to it, and I don't even know when is the last time I see it."
Upon hearing that, Robert puckered his brows.
After a moment of thought, he suggested in a low voice, "Let's search around the house first. If we can't find it here, then you most probably have dropped it in the Stone-gambling Event Hall two days ago."
When Sierra heard him said this, she instantly went white.
"If I really dropped it there, then I'm sure..."
Although she didn't finish her words, both of them were well aware of the situation. Hence, their faces did not look good.
In fact, the jade pendant itself didn't worth much. Otherwise, Chantel wouldn't give it to Anne so casually.
However, this jade pendant meant much to Sierra as Arnold had forged this for her when he was still alive. After a few decades, this was the only remaining item that Arnold had left for her.
For others, this might be a piece of normal jade, but for her, it had its sentimental value.
The two of them continued to rummage through every corner of the house, but they couldn't find anything.
Having no choice, they had to go out and search in the places that she had gone in the past few days.
Even after they searched the whole manor, the jade was nowhere to be found.
In the end, she had no choice but to find Mr. Jenkins.
After learning about the whole situation, Mr. Jenkins was surprised.
"You lost your jade pendant? How does it look like?"
Anxiously, Sierra described it, "This pendant is easy to recognize. It's three-centimeter-long and three to four-mm-thick. Besides, the initials of my name are carved in the center of the jade."
Mr. Jenkins knitted his brows.
For a while, he thought before he spoke, "This is no easy task. After all, you aren't sure when you lost the jade pendant. To find such a small object, it's no different from looking for a needle in a haystack."
Sure enough, Sierra knew what he meant, but this pendant meant a lot to her.
Moreover, she didn't have the slightest clue on how did she lost it.
As she pondered, she could only think of the moment when Chantel collided with her at the Stone-gambling Event Hall. She might have lost it then.
Although this speculation sounded a little unbelievable, it was the only speculation with the greatest possibility.
After listening to her words, Mr. Jenkins comforted in a deep voice, "Don't worry, Sierra. If you really dropped it inside the venue, it wouldn't be hard to find because there are security cameras. However, if you lost it somewhere else, it's a different story."
Upon hearing what he said, Robert nodded. "That's what I thought too. So, I would like to ask you a favor to show us the security footage."
To that, Mr. Jenkins nodded and responded, "Sure. It's not a big deal. Please wait for a moment. I'll ask someone to bring all the security footage over right away."
As he spoke, he pressed the internal phone and made a phone call. Soon, someone brought in a few hard disks that contained all the surveillance footage of the past few days.
While passing a laptop to Sierra and Robert, Mr. Jenkins said, "I have something to deal with, so both of you can look at them first. If you find any clues, let me know. As long as it is in the venue, I will help you to find it back."
To that, Robert and Sierra both nodded and answered gratefully, "Thank you very much."
After Mr. Jenkins got up and left, Robert and Sierra began to watch all those footage attentively.
As the monitoring video was recorded from the first time they came to the Stone-gambling Event until today, there were a lot of videos to watch. Besides, the venue was big, and the surveillance camera covered all kinds of angles. Hence, their workload was huge.
However, both of them knew the meaning behind that jade pendant, and they couldn't let it fall into someone else's hands.
Therefore, they were particularly focused on watching the footage.
After they watched from noon till night, Sierra's eyes finally lit up.
"I found it."
Hearing that, Robert scooted over to her and asked, "Where?"
Sierra pointed at a certain spot on the screen and paused the video. "Did you see it? It's right here."
Taking a closer look, Robert saw the video was showing the time when Sierra came out of the office. Simultaneously, Chantel was also coming out of the office after talking to Mr. Jenkins.
When Sierra was about to leave with Robert, she stumbled over the door sill and almost fell to the ground.
At this moment, the jade pendant slipped from her body and fell to the ground.
Upon seeing that footage, both of them were both excited and nervous.
There were excited because they finally found a clue, and they might be able to get her pendant back.
At the same time, they were also nervous because they had no idea who would pick it up. If that person refused to return it, things would get troublesome.
Robert pressed the play button, and the video continued to play.
In the picture, people were coming and going. Nevertheless, no one seemed to notice the small jade pendant on the ground.
After all, it was the Stone-gambling Event. Who would stare at the ground when there were big and glossy jade stones?
However, right at this moment, a familiar figure came into their sight.
It was Chantel.
At that time, Mr. Jenkins just came out of the office, while Chantel came from another direction. Then, she spoke to Mr. Jenkins before she turned and left.
Before she could take more than a few steps, she suddenly halted. After that, she took a step back and squatted down to pick up something.
Upon seeing that, Sierra held her breath. Right away, Robert paused the video, magnified the scene, and they saw what was in Chantel's hand.
Surprisingly, it was Sierra's jade pendant.
"It's her."
Robert's face darkened, and his eyes were filled with disgust. "It's this woman again!"
Despite feeling a little worried, Sierra said, "She's the eldest daughter of the Jordan Family. So, I believe she wouldn't be interested in such a small jade pendant."
