Chapter 480 A Gathering
Anderson asked in a low voice, but one could tell from his slightly hoarse voice that he had just woken up.
Clarissa responded with a "Yeah". Since he had woken up, she didn't have to worry about him anymore.
"I want to drink some water."
"Don't move, I'll get it for you."
As he spoke, Anderson turned over and soon poured a glass of warm water for her.
Clarissa held the cup and took two sips.
Just then, the rumbling sound of her stomach could be heard.
Clarissa's face suddenly turned red.
Anderson was stunned at first, then smiled and looked at her with his eyebrows raised. "Hungry?"
Clarissa blushed right away and hemmed and hawed. She didn't know whether to say "Yes" or "No",
In the end, she nodded her head honestly.
Anderson patted her head. "Sit down. I'll get you something to eat."
Clarissa was stunned. "You want to cook?"
"What else can we do?"
Only then did she realize that it was already 12 o'clock at night. The restaurants were all closed now, if they were to go out and buy food now. Besides, since she was pregnant, Clarissa could not eat anything from the night market.
Now that the servants in the house weren't around, other than Anderson, there wasn't anyone else in the house who could cook.
Clarissa scratched her head in embarrassment and said, "Okay."
After that, she paused for a moment before she said, "I'll help you with it!"
Anderson chuckled and said, "Come if you're bored sitting here alone."
Clarissa hurriedly lifted the blanket and got out of bed. Anderson frowned slightly when he saw that she was about to run. He reached out to grab a coat that was placed next to her and draped it over her. He then instructed, "Don't run around, be careful not to fall."
Clarissa stuck out her tongue. Helpless, Anderson could only scratch her nose.
He said helplessly, "Naughty."
The two of them went downstairs.
Anderson walked towards the kitchen.
Today, he wore a light-brown sweater with light grey sweatpants. He was dressed in a more casual style than usual, which made him look gentler than usual.
Clarissa followed him around. Although she knew how to cook, she was not allowed to enter the kitchen ever since she got pregnant.
On one hand, she couldn't smell the fried oil and greasy smell in the kitchen; on the other hand, it was for her to take a good rest and not to do any chores.
Clarissa didn't know whether to laugh or cry because of them. She knew that they were concerned about her, so she could only listen to them and let them be.
Anderson took out a bunch of vegetables from the fridge and two eggs. He asked her, "How about noodles?"
Clarissa nodded with a smile. "Sure."
Anderson placed the vegetables in a basin and soaked them in water. He took out an egg and used his slender hand to beat the egg using a fork. It was a sight that was pleasing to the eye.
Clarissa leaned against the door frame and glanced around. She asked him, "Is there anything I can do for you?"
Anderson gave her a faint look. "There will be a fried-oil and greasy smell. Can you take it?"
A while ago, Clarissa felt like throwing up as soon as she smelled it.
Clarissa took a deep breath and smiled at him.
"I'm fine today."
Anderson's eyes were slightly deepened, and there was a smile in his eyes. "Then you can help me wash the spring onion."
"All right."
The two were busy in the kitchen. After Clarissa washed the spring onion, Anderson took it and cut it into small pieces. He then put the noodles into the boiling water.
Clarissa stood next to Anderson and watched him put all kinds of seasonings into a small bowl. The sight of Anderson's hands, which owned the power to give life and death on the battlefield, cutting vegetables, was very pleasing to the eye at this time.
Soon, the noodles were cooked.
It was a bowl of noodles with eggs and vegetables, but it looked delicious and smelled good.
He picked up a bowl with one hand and asked Clarissa to pick up the chopsticks before they walked to the dining hall together.
"Wow, it smells really good!"
Clarissa was already hungry. At this time, as soon the aroma filled her nostrils, her appetite was immediately aroused.
Anderson looked at her with a smile and said in a gentle tone, "If you like it, eat more."
......
Clarissa didn't eat too much in the end. She only ate a small bowl before putting it down.
She touched her food baby and said, "I want to eat something sour."
Anderson chuckled and got up to enter the kitchen.
He came out again with a few dates pickle in his hand.
Clarissa's eyes lit up and ran over to him. "Where do they come from? When did you buy it?"
Anderson raised his hand and avoided her hand that had reached out to snatch the dates. He said with a serious expression, "You can only eat two."
Clarissa frowned.
"If you eat too much of these in the evening, your stomach will get sick."
She curled her lips unhappily. "I know."
Only then did Anderson pass the dates to her. Clarissa took one of them, grabbed it before taking a bite at it.
The sour taste soon washed over her taste buds. Clarissa could not help but sequel. "Amazing!"
Anderson looked at her and didn't say anything. He silently cleaned up the bowls and cutlery and washed them in the kitchen.
When he came out of the kitchen, Clarissa had already finished eating the two dates pickle.
The two of them then went upstairs to rest.
Time flew, and two months passed in the blink of an eye.
Clarissa's belly had already started to grow bigger. Luckily, she insisted on exercising, so she was still able to move freely.
The child was obedient and didn't make trouble for her. Usually, when she had nothing to do, she would read books or watch movies at home. On weekends and at night, she would keep Anne company. She had been living a comfortable life.
However, there had been no news from F Country. The groups of people sent by Anderson had not responded as well.
Harrison did have some news, but it was just some useless clues. The other party seemed to have disappeared completely since that incident. Therefore, they were like searching for a needle in a haystack, clueless.
Clarissa had no choice but to put this matter aside for the time being.
Soon, it was Evelyn's birthday.
Clarissa was bored, so she made a phone call to her.
Now Millie was very good at managing the company's affairs, she was promoted to general manager a few days ago. Since then, she had always been in charge of Evelyn's affairs.
The phone was soon connected.
"Evelyn, what are you doing recently?"
"I've just finished shooting a serious and I'm taking a break."
"Taking a break?" Clarissa's eyes lit up when she heard that.
Recently, Anderson had gone on a business trip, so Anne was busy with her studies. Lauren was preparing for her comeback, so none of them had the time to spend time with her.
Although she was able to chat with Pattie at home, she was bored because of the limited number of topics they could talk about.
At this time, when she heard that Evelyn was on a break, how could she let go of this opportunity?
"Should we hang out?"
Evelyn was stunned and then smiled.
"Well, I happen to know of a new hot pot restaurant. It has good reviews. Would you like to try it?"
"Yes, I do."
"Then I'll send you the address. See you at noon."
"Alright."
Clarissa soon received a text message from Evelyn.
After she had tidied herself up, she went out with Nora's company.
The hot pot restaurant was in the city centre. When she arrived, Evelyn had already arrived.
Clarissa couldn't eat too much spicy food because she was pregnant so they ordered tomato soup base.
