Chapter 164 A Blessing
After eating, they bid farewell to the couple and went out together.
It was already four o'clock in the afternoon. Marissa suggested that they should go straight ahead. She said that there was a night market which would be displayed at five o'clock, and it was quite lively there, so they decided to have a look.
Anderson had never visited a night market in his life, and he was a little curious.
He was more interested when he saw that Clarissa was in high spirits. They strolled around on the street.
Someone passed by on a tandem bicycle. Clarissa saw it and also wanted to ride it.
Anderson had to go to a shop on the roadside to rent one. After pushing the bicycle out, he realized that he didn't know how to ride a bicycle.
Clarissa burst into laughter.
She didn't except that Mr. Jordan, who was so capable, actually didn't know how to ride a bicycle.
Anderson's face darkened. He had been living a noble life since he was a child, and naturally luxury cars would take him wherever he wanted to go. How could he ride a bicycle?
Seeing his straight face, Clarissa could only check the urge to laugh out loud.
She asked him to sit in the back, and she could ride in the front, so that he only needed to follow her rhythm and pressed his feet down on the pedal.
Anderson ride on the bicycle reluctantly. "Let's go!" Clarissa said and then begun to ride it.
They rode the tandem bicycle on the road. The wind blew over, and her hair whipped around his face in the wind, bringing a burst of sweet fragrance, which made him reassuringly pleasant.
Anderson was infected by this kind of pure atmosphere, and felt at ease in his heart.
Clarissa hadn't ridden a bicycle since graduating from junior high school. She found that she was still good at riding it and felt very happy.
While riding, she hummed the tune which she learned at school.
Her voice was sometimes high and sometimes low, and the tune she hummed was intermittent. She got out of tune, because she carried Anderson and felt a bit tired to ride the bicycle.
Even so, it sounded good because her voice was very sweet.
After listening for a while, Anderson asked, "What's that tune you're humming??"
"Ballade pour Adeline. Haven't you heard it?"
Anderson was speechless.
Her singing got out of tune, but she even asked him if he had heard it?
Seeing that Anderson did not speak, Clarissa explained kindly, "It was played by the famous musician Richard Clayderman. He won the Golden Piano Award before..."
Anderson's face darkened slightly as he interrupted her, "I know."
"Oh," Clarissa said, and then shrugged her shoulders, "I forgot that you're good at playing the piano."
They rode the bicycle and soon arrived at the night market mentioned by Marissa.
The night market had just opened, and many people had not put out their goods. Clarissa held Anderson's hand and went to eat ice cream at an internet-famous snack shop. While eating, they waited for the night market to open.
There was relaxing and melodious music in the shop. The shop owner was a Turk, and he was making fancy ice cream at the door to attract tourists.
After eating ice cream, Clarissa felt bored and didn't want to visit the night market immediately, so she went to the door and watched him making ice cream.
When the Turk saw her approaching, he asked her if she wanted to have a try.
Clarissa hesitated, and he encouraged her to have a try. Then she took the shovel and the cone, and started making cream flowers under his guidance.
She knew how to put cream flowers on cakes, and making a cream flower on the ice cream was almost the same. The Turk was very patient, and she learned how to make ice cream soon.
Clarissa bought the one she made. Then she ran back with the ice cream happily and handed it to Anderson, "Here you're."
Anderson raised his eyebrows and looked at the crooked ice cream in front of him. Although he took it, he said, "It's so ugly. Are you sure that it was made by you?"
Clarissa nodded, "Yes! Don't you like it? Give it back to me if you don't like it."
Saying this, she reached out and and wanted to take back the ice cream.
How could Anderson let her take it away? He bit half of it and snorted, "Since you have given it to me, how can you take it back?"
Although he looked at the ice-cream with disgust, he still ate it. Seeing this, Clarissa laughed.
She didn't mind it anymore and continued to walk forward.
The evening lights were all lit, and the night market was completely opened.
Just like what Marissa said, it was very lively. There were not only tourists but also many locals.
Clarissa took Anderson and looked around. Anderson followed her like an attendant, frowning all the time.
Seeing that he was a little disgusted with the dirty and messy environment, Clarissa simply ignored him and didn't take him with her anymore. She ran to the front by herself.
Anderson was worried about her safety, so he could only endure the feeling and followed her quickly.
"Sir, how much is this?"
After he caught up with Clarissa, he saw her squatting in front of a stall, picking up a silver ring and wearing it.
"Two hundred dollars."
"Two hundred? It's so expensive."
"It's not expensive. It is not silver-plated, but solid silver. We wrapped the red silk yarn on it ourselves, and we made a vow to Buddha with it. This can bless you for living to a ripe old age."
Clarissa smiled, "That sounds good. In this case, give me another ring and I will pay you two hundred dollars for two rings. If you agree, I'll buy them immediately."
"No, that's so cheap and I'll lose money!"
"I'll give you two hundred and forty dollars at most. If you don't agree, I won't buy them."
"Alas! You're so good at bargaining. I can't make money if I sell them to you in this price..."
"Alright! You look so kind! Just sell them to me." After speaking, she took out the money from her pocket and handed it to him.
Seeing this, the owner of the stall took the money, "Fine. I'll sell them to you for the sake of your beauty."
After speaking, he took a man's ring from the bag and handed it to her.
Clarissa thanked him with a smile, as if she had got a treasure. She took the rings and was about to leave.
Seeing that she was generous, the owner of the stall stopped her and asked with a smile, "Are you interested in earrings? We made a vow to Buddha with these earrings, too."
Clarissa felt that those earrings were too old-fashioned, so she shook her head, "No, thanks. I just want the two rings."
After speaking, she returned to Anderson and wore the silver ring on his middle finger.
Anderson frowned in disgust and wanted to take it off, but Clarissa stopped him.
"Don't take it off. They made a vow with it and it can bless you."
Anderson despised the salesman's marketing device, and he despised Clarissa's IQ more, "Do you believe his words?"
"Yeah, why not?"
Clarissa walked to another stall, looked at the hand-made masks on it, and said casually, "As long as it is a good word, I believe it. Even if it's not true, I can at least buy a blessing, right?"
