Chapter 645 Living Death

After a pause, the smile on her face deepened, and her gaze became colder.
"After all, you're my adopted father, aren't you? As your daughter, I have to fulfill my filial piety. If you die just like that, how can I do that?"
"Of course, I have to make sure you are alive, even if you rather die or suffer, you have to live miserably."
"By that time, even if you regret it, willing to sign the papers, and die, it will be too late."
Hearing that, Forbos shuddered violently, and his face turned pale.
His body was trembling in fear.
"You, how dare you..."
Blinking her eyes, Evelyn asked, "What's wrong with me?"
Bu Forbos did not continue.
As a prisoner, he knew it was useless for him to say anything.
Then, Evelyn took out a pen from her bag and put it on the counter.
"Sign it! So you can die peacefully, and get a good next life. Maybe you'd get another chance to live."
Staring at the pen, Forbos didn't move for a long time.
Since Evelyn was not in a hurry, she just waited quietly.
After a long time, he suddenly raised his head and looked straight at Evelyn. He gritted his teeth and said, "I don't believe it. If I don't sign it, can you really do anything?"
Unsurpringly, Evelyn had expected that he would not agree so easily.
Hence, she smiled gently, and suddenly, she leaned forward to get closer to him. Separated by a piece of glass, she said softly, "Do you know who was the man who helped me last time and sent you to prison?"
To be honest, Forbos had no idea about this.
He only knew that Evelyn had socialized with a rich man, but he didn't find out the identity of the man.
At that moment, Evelyn's smile was extremely beautiful but cold at the same time.
"His name is Marty, and he is the son of the Blaine family in the Flaucford. Now, he is my legal husband."
Bang—!
It was as if a thunderous roar had exploded in Forbos's head.
What?
B—Blaine family?
If his face looked pale earlier, it was as white as a sheet now.
Forbos had heard about the 'Blaine family.'
When it came to the Four Great Families, he could only look up to them from afar and did not dare to socialize with them.
So he didn't expect that she would...
While he was looking at her in disbelief, she said casually, "I might not be able to make you suffer, but my husband has always been very kind to me, and he definitely didn't like to see me being unhappy. By then, if he wants to do that, I couldn't stop him, could I? Didn't you question my ability? But you won't question his ability, right?"
When Forbos heard that, his lips trembled, but he did not make a sound.
In the end, he lowered his head powerlessly and said nothing further.
......
More than ten minutes later, Evelyn came out with the divorce agreement that he had signed.
In the meantime, Marty, who had been sitting in the chair, immediately stood up as soon as he saw her.
"How was it?"
Waving the agreement in her hand, she said with a smile, "It's done."
Hearing that, Marty was stunned for a moment, then he smiled happily.
"That's great."
Looking at him, Evelyn seemed to think of something. Suddenly, she rushed to him, grabbing his waist, and buried her face in his arms.
All of a sudden, Marty froze, as he had rarely seen her treat him like this outside. After a while, he finally put his hand around her, with a pat on the back, and asked with concern, "What's wrong?"
But Evelyn shook her head dully.
After a few seconds, she raised her head, looking up at him, and whispered. "Marty, it's so good to have you."
Marty didn't know what had happened inside just now.
But when he heard her words, he was stunned for a moment, then he squinted his eyes happily.
With that, he lowered his head, and kissed Evelyn on the lips, as he said softly, "Then I'll be with you all the time."
Hearing that, Evelyn nodded.
Then, she stretched out her finger, wanting to make a pinky swear with him.
"As agreed, you'll be with me all the time and will not leave me."
In return, Marty stretched out his little finger sincerely, and pinky swore it with hers.
The two, who were already in their twenties, were playing the children's game at that moment, but both of them were happy.
After the pinky swear, they exchange a glance and smiled at each other.
Since they had gotten the divorce agreement, it would be easy to get a divorce.
With Marty's help, even if Forbos was not present personally, they still successfully obtained the divorce certificate.
Looking at the divorce certificate in her hand that she had been wanting to get for a long time but had been able to get it, Iris was so excited that she burst into tears.
Seeing this, Evelyn hugged her mother lovingly and comforted her.
However, how was this comforting?
For more than ten years, all the grievances that she had endured, and the tears and bitterness that she had silently shed, seemed to have collapsed at this moment.
Everyone knew that Forbos was not good to her.
However, there were very few who truly understood just how bad it was.
Physical hardships were minimal, but the hardest part was the mental torture.
Back then, in order to provide a better life for Evelyn, she was forced to marry Forbos to survive.
But after she got married, only then she realized that he was not a good person, but a trap.
Later, she had tried to propose a divorce several times.
But each time it ended in failure.
If her tone was aggressive, Forbos would threaten to kill her and Evelyn.
Because she was worried that Evelyn would get hurt, she was afraid to mention it again.
But in truth, the fact that she wanted a divorce had never died.
Actually, a year after they got married, she had been responsible for every expense in the family.
Thus, there was no difference between bringing up the child on her own or with the help of an extra person.
Because, apart from causing trouble, Forbos had not done anything else.
Now that she thought about it, she was the only one to blame for all these years of suffering.
Still, in the end, she needed her daughter and son-in-law to help her clean up the mess.
As the feelings overwhelmed her mind, Iris had mixed feelings. She felt wronged, but she was relieved.
What made her feel aggrieved was the pain she had suffered over the years, and that no one could truly understand it.
To her relief, Evelyn had grown up and found her true reliance.
In the future, when it was her time to go, she would go at ease.
At that moment, Evelyn didn't understand what was on her mother's mind.
But looking at her crying made her feel sad, so she kept comforting her.
At a time like this, Marty wasn't the right person to be present.
After all, it would be a little awkward for a man to be present when they were having their mother-daughter time.
It was impossible for her to vent out all the emotions that she had suppressed deep down in front of him.
Therefore, as soon as they got home, he went out silently and gave the space and time to Iris and Evelyn.
It was unsure how long Iris had cried, but she eventually stopped.
