Chapter 267 It Was Not Like Him
Clarissa was a little stunned.
What was going on?
Seeing her confused face, Anderson rubbed her head dotingly and said, "This is Gimmy, the second son of the Levine family in Flaucford. You should call him Uncle Jimmy."
Clarissa's eyes widened in astonishment.
The Levine family in Flaucford?
Was that... Gabriela's family?
She turned to look at Gimmy, only to see him nodding and smiling gently. Obviously, Anderson didn't lie to her.
Clarissa suddenly felt a bit disgusted and felt that this world was so small.
No wonder Mrs. Richardson and the Duncan family were so respectful to him in Ladybug Bar that day.
Gimmy smiled and said, "When will you bring her home? I'll come over and join in the fun."
Anderson smiled faintly, "Grandma and grandpa have met her. We will go back after dealing with the things here."
"That's good!" Gimmy kept nodding and felt relieved, "It seems that Mrs. Jordan can have a happy Spring Festival this year."
After saying that, he looked at Clarissa again, and felt more and more satisfied.
"Clarissa, my family and the Jordan family are old family friends. Anderson call me uncle, so I have to supervise him. If he dares to bully you, just tell me. I will beat him for you!"
Clarissa smiled awkwardly and could only nod, "Okay, thank you, Uncle Gimmy."
"Good girl!"
Gimmy felt warm in heart when he heard that. He took out a black gold card from his pocket and handed it to Clarissa.
"I am a vulgar person, and now I don't have time to prepare any meeting gifts for you. Take this card, and you may need it in the future."
Clarissa was shocked.
Although she didn't know what kind of card it was, she knew it was very valuable at a glance, and it was not something ordinary people could get.
So she waved her hand in a hurry, "No, I accept your kindness, but..."
"Take it!"
Anderson took the card without hesitation and stuffed it into Clarissa's hand.
"Clarissa, you are lucky. Today, Uncle Gimmy is in a good mood and he is generous. He used to be known as a miser, so just take it."
Clarissa was speechless.
Gimmy laughed and pretended to be angry, "You naughty boy! You haven't got enough good things from me since you was a kid? Now you've grown up so you speak ill of me? It seems that I've doted on you in vain!"
Anderson smiled calmly and didn't talk back.
It could be seen that the relationship between them was indeed very close.
Only then did Clarissa feel at ease and accept the card.
"Thank you, Uncle Gimmy."
Anderson asked, "Uncle Gimmy, why did you suddenly come to Visstead?"
Hearing this, Gimmy's face darkened immediately.
"Don't mention it. Didn't I get the news that my child has been found here? So I came here to confirm it myself. I didn't expect... Ha! Someone even dares to play a trick on my family!"
Hearing his indifferent tone, Anderson frowned slightly.
"What happened?"
Gimmy paused slightly, and then waved his hand with annoyance as if he thought of something.
"Forget it. Anyway, I lost the clues which I managed to find again. They really think that we are idiots, and they actually used a necklace to fool me, saying it was something belonged to Vivian. Isn't it ridiculous? Vivian has never had such a necklace!"
Clarissa raised her eyebrows.
Necklace?
For no reason, she thought of the ruby necklace she wore on her neck and couldn't help but reach out and hold the pendant hidden in her clothes.
Gimmy didn't notice her movements and looked at the time.
"Alright, I'm about to board the plane. You can leave first. By the way, Anderson, since you are in Visstead during this period, help me pay more attention to the news of that child. Your Grandpa Levine is not in good health, and his biggest wish is to find this child. I don't want to disappoint him."
Anderson nodded.
"Okay, I will."
They said goodbye to each other.
After getting in the car, Clarissa asked curiously, "Is the child that Uncle Gimmy mentioned the child who disappeared from the Levine family more than 20 years ago?"
Anderson nodded.
He paused, and then said, "The Levine family has been looking for her in the past few years, but they have no clues. She has disappeared for more than 20 years, and maybe she has died."
Clarissa blinked.
"You don't seem to be very enthusiastic about this matter, do you? You're strange."
She knew what kind of person Anderson was.
Although he looked cold in the surface, as long as he really cared about someone, he would take the person's affairs to heart and never showed such an aloof attitude.
Anderson glanced at her meaningfully.
"Do you remember what I told you when you asked me about Gabriela?"
Clarissa was taken aback.
She thought about it for a while, and suddenly got enlightened.
"Anderson, you..."
"Yes, I am such a selfish person. I don't want anyone to come back and disturb our life, and I don't want anything troublesome to happen. So I don't care if they can find the child."
Clarissa was amused by him.
"Why are you like this? Uncle Gimmy is so anxious, but you're talking mockingly here."
Anderson smiled and leaned forward, reaching out to held her slender waist.
He got close to her face and touched the tip of her nose with his.
"Well, I'm just like this. Except for you, I don't care about anything else."
"Anderson..."
Clarissa felt very guilty in her heart, but he had kissed her affectionately, and she couldn't breathe the fresh air until he let go of her. She put her hands against his shoulders and said while panting, "But can you really do like this?"
Anderson chuckled softly, "Clarissa, do you want a woman to come back and take away your husband so much?"
Clarissa rolled her eyes at him angrily.
"Maybe she doesn't like you at all! Don't flatter yourself."
Anderson laughed in a low voice.
Clarissa said again, "Seriously, just help him if you can. He is really anxious. It will be improper if you have clues but don't help him."
Anderson let go of her, arranged her clothes and hair which were messed up by him, and then sat down.
He said solemnly, "I know what you mean, but you can rest assured that the people in the Levine family are not as anxious and nervous as they look like."
"The reason why Uncle Gimmy is in a hurry to find this child is because old master Levine is ill. He is about to die, so he naturally thinks of all the regrets in his life."
"Uncle Gimmy didn't want to let him die with regrets, so he wants to find this child, but the other people in the Levine family might not think so. The relationships in the Levine family are complicated. They intrigue against each other, resorting to deception and fraud."
"If the child comes back, she can only attract attention when old master Levine is still alive. Once he dies, have you ever thought about how she can survive in the schemes of a powerful family?"
