Chapter 555 A New Screenplay
It was as if the promise between the two of them that day did not exist at all.
If it weren't for the fact Iris was staying in St. Peter Hospital, she wondered whether what happened that day was a dream.
However, since Marty didn't come to her, she wouldn't be stupid enough to go to him on her initiative.
So she acted as if she didn't care.
The days went by peacefully. On this day, they finally finished shooting the last scene. At night, the director arranged a place outside to treat everyone to a meal after the wrap.
As the lead actress, of course, Evelyn was among them.
After Evelyn went back to her room and changed her clothes, she went there with her assistant and several actresses in the same team.
However, as soon as she arrived at the restaurant, she realized that the director had booked more than one private room today. There were people in the other two private rooms too.
One of the private rooms was for the production crew, while the most luxurious private room was for some guests hired by the director.
She was a little surprised but did not think too much about it. She entered the assigned private room for her and sat down.
It didn't take long for everyone else to arrive.
The director also came over, but he didn't stay for too long. He just drank a few glasses of liquor with everyone before he called Evelyn out alone.
Evelyn came to the corridor and asked, "Director, what's up?"
The director looked at her and said with a smile, " After our cooperation this time, I admire your ability very much. Now that we have done filming this series, I have another movie coming up. I don't know if you're interested in it. If you're interested, I'd like you to play the female lead."
Evelyn was a little surprised.
After working with this director for a while, she also liked him. Besides, she was comfortable working with him.
Since he said that he wanted to cast her as the female lead, then he must have decided after careful consideration. It was unlikely that he was joking.
As an actress, as long as the screenplay was good enough, there was no reason for her to refuse.
As such, she quickly nodded. "Of course I'm interested. Thank you for your recognition."
The director seemed to have expected her answer. He smiled and said, "Coincidentally, the investor and screenwriter for this movie are also here. They want to complete the screenplay as soon as possible, so they want to talk to you about it first. If you don't mind now, you can come with me."
Without hesitation, Evelyn nodded and agreed.
As a result, Evelyn went back to greet everyone before the director led her to another private room.
Only then did Evelyn realize that three men were sitting inside, and a female screenwriter too.
The most unexpected thing was that the male lead, Anthony, who Evelyn had just worked with, was also present.
Anthony waved at her and said with a smile, "Hey, I thought you wouldn't come over. Looks like you're quite brave. Come and have a seat."
He was obviously joking.
After getting along with him for a few months, Evelyn knew he was someone who was a little carefree and liked joking. He was kind to everyone and had a good character.
The most important thing was that she knew about his relationship with Anderson. He was Anderson's cousin, thus, Clarissa's cousin too. He was also Clarissa's artiste, so he had always been nice to her.
Evelyn thought this was the only reason, so she didn't think too much about it. Seeing him here, she felt more relieved.
In the face of Anthony's teasing, she snorted.
"Why wouldn't I dare to come? Our director, Damien, is so kind. What can he do to me?"
Anthony smiled. "That's not necessarily true. You have to have confidence in your looks."

Damien Depp shot a glare at Anthony and said seriously, "Don't talk nonsense. What if you scare her away? Will you help to find her back for me?"
Anthony quickly begged for mercy, "Yes, I was talking nonsense. Miss Hussain, please don't take it to heart. Don't be angry and leave. They are really here to talk about business with you today. We just had a chat. I swear that you will be interested too if you read the screenplay."
Having said that, Evelyn's interest was piqued.
Therefore, she sat down with Damien.
The female scriptwriter, who had been sitting there, said with a smile, "I haven't finished writing the screenplay yet, but I already have a draft here. I'll show you the draft first. You can tell me if you have any comments. We haven't finalized the screenplay yet, so we can still amend it according to your ideas. Let's have a brainstorming session."
After that, she distributed two copies of the draft, one for each of them.
Because it was only a draft, there was not much content. Soon, Evelyn had finished reading it.
After reading it, her eyes lit up. She was interested in it.
The storyline was not of the serious type. It could be considered a comedy. It was a comedy in which a male and a female character swapped bodies.
However, because the two of them were medical examiners, there were some serious plots amid the funny parts.
Evelyn had just finished shooting a mystery series, so at this time, so it was easy for her to immerse herself into a role in a suspense-setting drama.
After reading it, Evelyn said to the screenwriter happily, "The screenplay will turn out to be great. I'm very interested in it."
Damien smiled as expected. "I knew you'd be interested. My thought is, you and Anthony worked very well together in the previous series. Although it hasn't been broadcast yet, we'll definitely have a swarm of fans that ship the both of you as long as we have a satisfactory viewership."
"We want to take advantage of the popularity of it and make you two an on-screen couple to hype this movie. In this way, you can be pushed to new heights along with the two series. What do you think?"
Of course, Anthony had no problem with it. In fact, he couldn't wait for it to happen. After all, he had been trying to court Evelyn for the past few months discreetly.
Nevertheless, Evelyn had been slow in responding to him. Therefore, Anthony dared not to woo her overtly. After all, considering their identities, his previous incident had already caused quite a bit of trouble for himself. Previously there were still in the middle of filming the series. If he were to take things further, it would be embarrassing for both parties and thus, affecting the production crew, if things didn't work out.
But now it was different as they had finished filming the film. Therefore, he could finally confess his feelings to her.
Hearing that they were going to use their on-screen chemistry as a hype, Evelyn frowned subconsciously.
However, she was not in a hurry to refuse. She said, "I can't decide on this matter by myself. I have to consult my manager first."
Damien nodded his head to show his understanding.
"We can talk about this later. Do you have any requests about the screenplay?"
Evelyn thought for a while before she concluded that she did not have any specific requirement.
