Chapter 400 Making A Visit

Clarissa was extremely shocked. She had an awkward expression on her face.
She really couldn't understand how Old Master Levine made such an U-turn in his attitude towards her.
Marty, who was next to him, was also confused. He didn't know what was going on until Old Master Levine and Gimmy left.
He turned to look at Anderson. "Anderson, what are they doing? Why do I feel that Old Master Levine has a rather strange attitude towards Clarissa?"
Clarissa didn't say anything. In fact, Marty wasn't the only one who felt that way. She had the same feeling as him.
Anderson's eyes darkened slightly.
However, Anderson didn't continue this topic. He only said in a deep voice, "Alright, it's getting late. Let's go."
After that, he took Clarissa's hand and left.
On the way home, Clarissa asked curiously, "What do Old Master Levine and Uncle Gimmy want to tell me?"
Anderson lowered his eyes and looked at her. "Do you want to know?"
Clarissa nodded.
"You'll know if you go to their house tomorrow."
"Huh?" Clarissa had a disappointed expression on her face. "I thought you knew. If I had to go to the Levine family to find out, then I would rather be kept in the dark."
Anderson smiled when he saw the look of disappointment on her face. His eyes deepened slightly.
"Clarissa, can you tell me why you dislike the Levine family so much?"
Clarissa was stunned. "Dislike them? Did I?"
"Yes."
Anderson sounded very sure.
Clarissa grunted. "Probably because we don't see eye to eye with each other. I always feel that the people in the Levine family are weird, but I can't tell what's weird about them. Anyway, I don't like them."
Anderson pondered and said, "Could it be that you are prejudiced against them because of Gillee and Lara's incident?"
Clarissa frowned and looked at him with suspicion.
"Why are you speaking up for them? Are you hiding something from me?"
Anderson's face turned stern, and he quickly said, "No."
Clarissa looked at him. "Really?"
Anderson nodded and said, "100% real."
In fact, he was not sure if his guess was right. However, seeing the attitude of Master Guan and Gimmy just now, he couldn't help but ask her.
"But to be honest, I think that Uncle Gimmy is not bad. He's a kind man, and I don't dislike him, but Old Master Levine... Well, I always feel that he's a cunning person and I have reservations about him."
Anderson chuckled. "You've seen through all this. Looks like Old Master Levine hasn't mastered the skill of disguising his true colors."
Clarissa felt a little embarrassed after being praised by him.
"Well, let's not talk about them. It feels like we are speaking ill of them behind their backs."
"Well, okay."
The two of them did not continue with the subject.
The next day, Clarissa naturally did not go. Although Old Master Levine was disappointed, there was nothing he could do. Originally, he wanted to tell her the truth directly without caring about anything else, but he was stopped by Gimmy.
In Gimmy's opinion, because of the previous events, Clarissa had already biased against the Levine family. If he told her directly now, she might not be willing to accept her new identity, nor would she want to recognize Old Master Levine as her grandfather.
After all, after getting along with Clarissa during this period of time, he could figure out a little bit about her character.
Clarissa drew a clear distinction between love and hate and she didn't like to fawn on others. Besides, she was now the Young Madam of the Jordan Family, so there was no need for her to be recognized as the daughter of the Levine family.
Old Master Levine was very dissatisfied with Gimmy's view, but the truth was, things would turn out to be what Gimmy had said. Clarissa didn't need to play up to the Levine family.
He knew this from the fact that she had turned down their invitation to the family dinner tonight.
If this invitation had been given to any other girl, she would have thrown herself in such a hurry. However, Clarissa didn't care about it at all. In fact, she had even rejected it.
Old Master Levine had to admit that she really didn't like the Levine family.
What should he do?
The afternoon sun came in through the window. Old Master Levine looked at the green scenery outside the window, as he got lost in his thoughts.
Just then, a voice broke his train of thoughts.
"Old Master Levine, a man surnamed Hampden has come to see you."
Old Master Levine finally came to his senses and turned to look at the butler. "What did you say? Who wants to see me?"
"Mr. Hampden, this is his business card."
The butler respectfully handed him a gold foil silver-white card. The card was very simple. There was a gold and purple flower logo and his name "Harrison Hampden" on it.
Old Master Levine was shuddered as his expression changed slightly.
"Where is he?"
"He is in the living room downstairs."
Old Master Levine's face tensed up as his gaze grew cold. He said coldly, "Bring me down."
His knees hurt a little due to his recurring illness, so he could only sit in the wheelchair.
When the butler pushed him into the living room, it was obvious that Old Master Levine's body trembled slightly.
The man in the living room stood up.
Old Master Levine waved his hand to send the butler and servants away. The two of them were the only ones left in the large living room.
"Mr. Hampden, long time no see."
His tone was cold.
Harrison looked at him, his face still indifferent and calm. "Old Master Levine, how have you been in the past few years?"
Old Master Levine sneered, "Thanks to you, I have not kicked the bucket yet!"
Harrison smiled slightly and said, "It seems that you still have a problem with me."
Old Master Levine's eyes widened as he said angrily, "And you still dare to bring that up? It's not your daughter who has died, so of course you can let it go easily! Harrison, let me tell you! I could never put aside my prejudice against your family!"
Old Master Levine got emotional and agitated as he spoke. So after he finished speaking, he fell into the wheelchair. His face and ears were red, and he was short of breath.
Harrison looked at him indifferently and advised, "You seemed to be in bad health. I suggest you maintain a calm state of mind."
Old Master Levine sneered and didn't say anything.
However, he secretly tried to calm himself down.
Harrison suddenly said, "You have been blaming us for losing your daughter, but you seem to have forgotten that I have also lost my big brother. If you really want to make a fuss about it, I'm afraid no one will be able to say anything about it!"
Old Master Levine bit the inside of his cheeks and stared at him angrily.
"He brought this upon himself! He deserved it! My daughter was cheated by him, and that's why she ended up dead!"
Harrison seemed to have no intention of arguing with him. After all, it was all in the past now. It was meaningless to dwell on it anymore since they couldn't bring the dead back to life.
He said in a deep voice, "We don't have the right to judge what happened between them. This time when I returned to Ascijan, I only have one question for you. Where is that child?"
Old Master Levine's expression changed.
"What child? I don't understand what you're talking about!"
"The child Miss Levine gave birth to and my eldest brother's daughter, you told me the child went missing 20 years ago. We have been looking for her for the past 20 years, but there was no clue. Some time ago I heard you have found their missing daughter. I think I should come back to see her no matter what. Mr. Levine, please bring the child to us!"
