Chapter 633 He Was Injured

"Okay, okay. I just happened to have some free time and nothing to do. So, since there were some ingredients, I decided to make something. Take a seat outside. The food will be ready soon."
Marty nodded.
He then said, "I will get the plates and cutlery."
Evelyn didn't refuse.
After a while, he walked out with the plates and cutlery.
Soon, the mushroom soup was ready.
Evelyn then placed the soup and fried rice on the table. After that, they began to eat.
Her cooking skill was, of course, excellent. Even though it was rusty, the food was always tasty.
Marty was so satisfied that he devoured two more plates of fried rice.
After the meal, he rushed to wash the dishes.
Evelyn did not contend with him and simply let him go.
However, it was not until Marty went to the kitchen that she realized she overestimated his ability to do house chores.
A scream erupted from the kitchen, accompanied by a "crash" sound.
The sound of a plate dropping to the ground could be heard.
"What's wrong?"
Evelyn dashed over to have a look.
However, Marty waved his hand to her in a hurry. "I'm... I'm fine."
As he spoke, he bent down to pick up the broken pieces on the floor.
Evelyn's eyelid twitched, and she quickly shouted, "Don't pick it with your hands..."
Before she could finish her sentence, she noticed a slight cut on Marty's finger.
Blood immediately gushed out from the wound.
Immediately, Evelyn's expression shifted, and she rushed over.
"What are you doing?"
Marty frowned as he looked at the small cut on his finger.
Then, he put his hands behind his back.
"I'm fine. I'm not injured."
However, how could he get away from Evelyn's gaze?
She pulled his hand over and said anxiously, "Really?"
Marty paused for a moment when he heard her words, and his hand was then taken away by her.
After, Evelyn took his hand in hers and examined the blood on his finger. Her heart ached so much.
"Does it hurt? Wait. I'll get you some cream."
She turned around and ran out as she spoke.
However, as soon as she stepped out, Marty drew her back.
In the next second, her body was swept into his warm chest.
Marty hugged her and said, "It's fine. It doesn't hurt."
Hearing what he said, Evelyn was so anxious that she almost went insane.
"Nonsense. It's so serious! How can it not hurt? Stop playing. Let me get the cream for you."
Following that, there was a low chuckle from behind her.
When Evelyn saw that he was still laughing at this time, she suddenly became enraged.
Then, Marty let go of her and turned her body around to face him.
"Evelyn, I am so glad that you care for me so much," he said with a smile.
Upon hearing his words, Evelyn was stunned.
She had no idea this was what he was worried about.
For a moment, she felt both agitated and amused. "You say it as if I never cared for you before."
Soon, Marty curled up his lips and didn't say anything.
It was not until then that Evelyn realized how little she cared for him in the past.
For a split second, she could not help but flush with guilt.
After a long while, she finally struggled a little.
"Okay. Let go of me first. You must deal with the wound no matter what."
Marty didn't insist this time and finally let go of her.
Evelyn went to the living room and quickly found the first-aid box.
She carried the box and went to the kitchen to treat his wound. Finally, she applied the cream to his finger.
In fact, such a small wound was insignificant to Marty.
But he could not make Evelyn believe it was not serious.
Furthermore, he cherished the feeling of being loved and cared for by her in this way.
As Marty thought about this, he couldn't control but curve the corner of his mouth.
She then proceeded to say as she applied cream to his wound, "Don't look down on such a small wound. It will worsen if not handled properly."
At that point, Marty could tell she was concerned about him. He couldn't help but feel a warm sensation in his chest.
The wound was soon handled.
Looking at the broken pieces on the ground and the unfinished dishes, Evelyn said, "Go out first. I will take care of the rest."
Marty was a little embarrassed.
"Ah? You must be exhausted already. I..."
"Even if you stay here, you will not be able to do it. Go out first."
As she spoke, she pushed him out.
Marty had no choice but to stand outside the kitchen.
Having been born into a wealthy family, he had always been accompanied by a large group of servants ever since he was a child.
There was no need for him to interfere with the house chores, so he had never washed the dishes.
In the past, he had never felt there was anything wrong with it. But today, he felt inexplicably ashamed and even more apologetic.
"Evelyn, will you despise me?"
Thinking of this, he felt wronged and asked.
Puzzled, Evelyn looked up at him.
Noticing the dejection in his eyes, she soon understood something and burst out laughing.
When Marty saw her laughing, he assumed she was mocking him.
His face darkened all of a sudden.
Evelyn hurriedly waved her hand and said with a smile, "I don't mean that. We should do what we are good at. As for this, it doesn't matter whether you know it or not. After all, we don't cook often."
She was telling the truth.
Marty and Evelyn indeed had a lot on their plates.
It was rare to have a meal at home. How could he possibly find time to do all of this?
After hearing her explanation, Marty's look improved.
Later, they walked up the stairs together after she was done cleaning up.
They took a nap because they had nothing else to do.
When she got up in the afternoon, Marissa called her to brief her on the schedule for the day after tomorrow.
Evelyn didn't have any other requests. She just hoped that the shooting would be limited to three days.
Because in three days, she had to come back and pick her mother up from the hospital.
Marissa promised to contact the other party. They could then set off after confirming the time.
Two days later, Evelyn left for Bruburg.
The shoot's main theme was stylish and luxurious. As a result, it was filmed in high-end buildings.
Evelyn had arrived the night before. However, she could not shoot that night due to the lighting issue, so she had to wait until the next day.
Thus, after checking into the hotel at night, Evelyn first texted Marty to inform him that she had arrived.
She initially expected receiving his reply very soon.
But there was no response after a long time.
Then, she frowned as she stared at the phone.
While she was shocked, she assumed Marty was preoccupied with something else and did not check his phone for the time being.
Hence, she did not give it much thought.
After a night's rest, the shoot officially began the next day.
