Chapter 979 A Happy Reunion
What if Clarissa forced her to do something that triggered her panic attack?
If that happened and he wasn't there, that would make him an unloyal friend.
Therefore, regardless of being awkward, Mr. Jenkins chose to stay behind.
On the other side, Clarissa and Sierra came out of the reception room after having a chat.
As soon as they pushed the door open, they realized that the three men were waiting outside.
Immediately, Robert stood up and rushed over to Sierra. After pulling her to a corner, he asked with concern, "How is it? Are you alright?"
Currently, Sierra was much calmer than before, and she smilingly shook her head.
Then, she turned to look at Clarissa and smiled gently, "Clarissa, are you free tomorrow? I heard that there are several scenic spots in the suburbs of Flaucford. Can you bring me there?"
Right away, Clarissa nodded. "Sure! Let's go tomorrow."
Upon seeing this, Anderson raised his brows, and a hint of a smile flashed across his eyes.
As for Robert, he was dumbfounded. It seemed that he was wondering what changed Sierra's attitude toward Clarissa in such a short time.
Suddenly, Anderson walked up to Sierra.
"Mom, Clarissa and I will go with you tomorrow."
Shocked, Sierra took a step back and stared at him.
Seeing that, Clarissa pulled Anderson to her side and smiled awkwardly at Sierra.
"Actually, I'm married. He's my husband, Anderson Jordan."
Upon hearing her words, Sierra regained her composure and forced a smile. Obviously, she wasn't comfortable around him.
However, knowing that he was Clarissa's husband, she mustered her courage and nodded. "Okay."
When Mr. Jenkins saw this, he clapped his hands and guffawed.
"Finally! It's great to see Mrs. Jordan and Miss Campos reunite with each other. To celebrate this joyous occasion, I will treat everyone to a meal today. There is a good restaurant nearby. Mr. and Mrs. Jordan, if you don't mind, please join us."
Anderson responded faintly, "You don't have to. Since we've come to Flaucford and reunited with my mother-in-law, I should be the one who treats everyone."
As he spoke, he immediately took out his mobile phone and called David.
Actually, David still didn't know that Clarissa had reunited with Sierra. He thought that Anderson was there for business, so he booked the most luxurious restaurant in Flaucford.
Upon knowing that, Sierra accepted Anderson's kind offer and went to lunch with everyone.
Before that, although Sierra seemed like she was alienating Clarissa, she meant no harm.
It was just that she couldn't get over her fear of meeting the people she knew in the past that might remind her of all the unpleasant memories.
However, Clarissa had promised her that she wouldn't mention the past again and force her to recall anything.
Naturally, those words had lifted the burden off Sierra's shoulder, and she felt much more relaxed.
Therefore, during the meal, the relationship between her and Clarissa improved by leaps and bounds.
Occasionally, Anderson would help from the side. He and Clarissa were both intelligent, while Sierra's personality was simple. So, it didn't take them long to amuse Sierra.
As for Robert, he didn't want Sierra to remember the heartbreaking past.
However, in the past few years, he discovered that he shouldn't be the only person in her life. Her heart was too fragile, too sensitive, and she needed a sense of security.
Besides, she required more people to love her and prove her value. Only in this way could she gradually recover from the pain and be healthy again.
Having this thought in mind, he didn't stop Sierra from spending time with Clarissa.
Mr. Jenkins was also quick-witted. When he saw Sierra and Clarissa chatting happily, he knew that they had successfully rebuilt their relationship.
With that, he was once again glad that he had Robert as his friend.
Everyone joyfully exchanged toasts, and the atmosphere was warm.
After dinner, they didn't leave. Instead, they asked the waiters to clear the table and chatted over a cup of coffee.
Looking at Mr. Jenkins, Clarissa spoke, "I have considered what you've proposed to Aunt Chantel. If the mine is real, we will invest."
When Chantel came over, Mr. Jenkins knew that he already had a 50% chance of success. Moreover, he had helped Clarissa met her long-lost mother by chance.
Although he didn't do much, a prestigious family like the Jordan Family had always been very particular about their work.
Even if he didn't contribute much, they would repay him.
So, the possibility of success had now increased from 50% to 100%.
As he had foreseen this, he was not surprised to hear Clarissa's words.
Then, with a gentle smile, he replied, "Of course the mine is real. If you have the time, I can take you to Ashax Country. After all, I am going there when the Stone-gambling Event ends. By that time, you can do an expedition first before investing. What do you think?"
Clarissa nodded. "That sounds great."
As she spoke, a thought suddenly appeared in her mind, and she turned to look at Sierra.
"Mom, have you been to Ashax Country?"
Hearing that, Sierra stunned and shook her head.
To that, Clarissa happily invited, "Would you like to go with me? It's fun there. There are oceans, coconuts, and many ancient historical buildings. Aren't those what you like the most?"
For a moment, Sierra hesitated before turning her head to look at Robert.
Seeing that he didn't object, she nodded in agreement.
"Sure."
Feeling satisfied, Clarissa beamed and turned to Mr. Jenkins.
"Mr. Jenkins, when will the Stone-gambling Event end?"
After Mr. Jenkins pondered for a while, he answered, "Most of the valuable stones are sold, and what is left are some small jades. Probably, I will sell everything within three or four days. Even if I can't sell them out, I will put them aside first. Anyway, I can use them in other areas next time."
Listening to what he said, Clarissa nodded. "Great. For now, let's set the trip to five days from now. After you've finished your work here and rest for a day, we'll go to Ashax Country."
"No problem. That's settled then." Mr. Jenkins made the final decision.
Later, they continued to chat for a while before leaving.
As Clarissa and Anderson couldn't bear to let Sierra and the others return by themselves, Andreson personally drove them back.
Moments later, they arrived at the gate of the manor. Clarissa looked around and realized that the environment here was fairly nice.
Even so, this wasn't the Jordan Family's home.
