Chapter 952 Other Intentions

Lily didn't want to squander any more time. She sprung to her feet and dashed down the slope.
Seeing that she had fled, Sean directly chased after her.
However, he did hurt his eyes and groin, after all. That was why he couldn't run as fast as he used to.
In addition, the mountain path was steep. Lily grew up in this area and was so familiar with it that she could stroll around with her eyes closed.
So, how could Sean possibly catch up to her when she ran away like a puff of smoke?
Realizing this, Sean stopped in his tracks. He glared aggressively at Lily's back before abruptly drawing a gun.
Bang!
Stone and soil splashed immediately under Lily's feet.
She was so horrified that she came to a halt and turned around to gaze at Sean in disbelief.
Sean was now a completely different guy than he had been before. His entire person had a gloomy, menacing aura.
He raised his gun and pointed it at Lily. In a cold voice, he said, "I'll shoot you to death if you run!"
Lily's face blanched, and she didn't dare to move.
In an instant, Sean strode over and grabbed her.
At the same time, in the villa.
They were conversing when they heard a "bang" of a gun from outside.
Because they were all experienced individuals, they were all familiar with this sound. They adjusted their expressions and were out the door in the blink of an eye.
Mr. Gill was trailing them as well. "It's that guy!" he shouted angrily as he looked at the night sky.
"How do you know that?" Clarissa questioned in shock.
"It can't be wrong. It must be him!"
He started walking in the direction of the gunshot as he spoke.
They didn't waste any time and followed him all the way to the graveyard. They discovered that there was no one around, but Madam Gill's tomb had been dug.
Mr. Gill's visage abruptly changed, and it was extremely unpleasant.
It was utterly devoid of conscience to dig people's graves!
Clarissa and the others couldn't tolerate it any longer. Anderson knelt and examined the ground. Then he pointed in a certain direction and stated quietly, "They went in that direction."
"I'm going to chase after them!" Jara exclaimed.
"Let's go together."
Emmeline followed him right away.
However, Jara hurriedly stopped her.
He glanced at Clarissa and went on to say, "Stay here with Clarissa and take care of Mr. Gill. Anderson, let's go together."
Anderson nodded while Clarissa remained silent. Then, she held Emmeline and said softly, "Sean is no match for them, so we'll just have to wait and see."
Emmeline nodded.
Clarissa and Emmeline then helped Mr. Gill in restoring Madam Gill's tomb after Anderson and Jara left. Only then did they return to the villa.
It was already four o'clock in the morning at this point.
They'd all been awake all night, yet they weren't tired.
Mr. Gill remained at the table, smoking his cigarette in silence.
Afterward, Clarissa paused for a time before asking, "Do you think Sean would have known Jade of Heaven was buried there if he was the one who dug out the grave?"
"It's possible," replied Mr. Gill.
He pondered for a bit before exhaling a sigh.
"Lily actually didn't know about this, but she could have come out by chance that night and discovered what I had buried there. Perhaps because she didn't know the exact spot, she let Sean rummage about."
Clarissa nodded. This explanation made sense.
When she saw his distressed expression, she comforted him, "Don't worry, Mr. Gill. The fact that Lily is still bringing Sean over shows that she is in good shape. Sean most likely fired because Lily is attempting and is capable of escaping. At the very least, she is not badly injured. Plus, Jara and Anderson are already chasing after them. I believe they'll bring her back very soon. Don't worry."
Mr. Gill nodded his head again.
Then, as if he had thought of something, he scoffed at himself.
"I've always felt sorry for Sean and his family. If I hadn't accidentally killed Devon's parents, things wouldn't have become like this. But if he really hates me, he can come at me. I won't fight him even if he wants to take my life. But Lily is completely innocent. Why did he bother her?"
Clarissa paused for a bit before continuing, "Actually, I thought of something, but I don't know if I should say it or not."
"Go ahead," Mr. Gill waved his hand and responded.
After, Clarissa went on to say, "Actually, now that things have come to this point, I don't think Sean's coming has anything to do with vengeance. Otherwise, he could have killed Lily directly. Why would he use her to threaten you for Jade of Heaven?"
"What do you mean?" Mr. Gill frowned.
With a faint smile, Clarissa added, "I think he's using hatred as an excuse to make you feel bad and can't bear to kill him. Then, he seizes the chance to get what he wants. He doesn't care if he gets his revenge or not in the end. Furthermore, he may use Devon's death as an excuse against you."
Upon hearing this, he was greatly shocked.
He eventually came to realize that something was indeed amiss.
For a few moments, he scowled and remained quiet. Then he added, "You're right. I was previously blinded. Someone seemed to have prompted him. I should still look into the matter even if Lily returned."
His voice was tinged with wrath as he spoke.
After all, vengeance was one thing. It was another thing to be ordered to come here with the other intentions to kidnap Lily.
Seeing this, Clarissa no longer said a word.
She checked the time and realized that dawn was approaching. However, they had no idea when Jara and Anderson would return. Thus, she said, "Mr. Gill, why don't you rest for a bit? I'll wake you when they return."
However, how could he possibly fall asleep?
He was enraged and agitated right now. He was only waiting for them to bring Sean back and question him properly.
As a result, all he did was wave his hand and murmur, "I'm not sleeping. You can sleep if you are tired. There are several guest rooms on the first floor. I won't help you clean since you're all girls. You two can go ahead to rest now."
Clarissa chuckled. "We're not tired. We're only concerned about your health."
Mr. Gill then giggled as he stared at her. "Are you worried about my health? Don't worry! You weren't even born when I was camping outside. I can still hold on since this is just a night."
Since he said so, Clarissa didn't persuade him anymore.
Nodding, the three of them continued to sit in the living room and wait.
It was not until 6 o'clock that Jara and Anderson came back.
Two persons were behind them. One was tied by a rope, while the other was in Jara's arms. Finally, there was Lily, who had a terrified expression on her face.
