Chapter 414 It's None Of His Business
But no matter how awkward it was, Marty had to be responsible for what he did.
Marty sighed.
"Last night, I was really drunk. I apologize to you for offending you. But you see, since we can't change what has already happened, why don't you and me make do with it?"
Evelyn's eyes widened.
She couldn't believe that he dared to say such a thing.
"Make do? F*ck you!"
She was so angry that she kicked Marty out of bed again and roared, "I won't be with you even if all the men in the world are dead. Make do? Make do on your own!"
After that, she ignored him. Wrapping herself in the blanket, she jumped out of bed and stormed to the bathroom.
Soon, the sound of running water came from the bathroom.
Holding his painful knee, Marty stood up with a grimace. As he looked in the direction of the bathroom, his eyes darkened slightly.
It didn't take long for Evelyn to finish her shower.
When she rushed out, she was only wrapped in a bath towel. Under her scattered long hair, the traces left from the previous night could still be vaguely seen on her shoulder.
Evelyn bent over to pick up her torn clothes. She pulled a long face as she looked at them.
Then, her gaze fell on white shirt Marty threw on the sofa not far away.
Although Evelyn felt a little disgusted, she had no other choice at this time. So she walked over, picked up the white shirt, and went to the bathroom.
Marty opened his mouth and wanted to say something, but it was too late.
The bathroom door slammed shut. About a minute later, Evelyn came out again, and she had already changed into his shirt.
Evelyn's figure was slender and petite, and she was 1.6 meters tall. Dressed in a person's clothes of 1.83 meters high, the shirt almost covered her knees.
Marty's Adam's apple bobbed up and down as he swallowed a mouthful of saliva.
"Well, I..."
"I'm warning you, you are not allowed to tell anyone about what happened between us. Not a single word!"
Before he could say anything, Marty was interrupted by Evelyn.
Evelyn glared at him. After warning him, she picked up her bag and walked out of the room.
Marty's expression darkened.
"Where are you going?"
"It's none of your business!"
"Bang!" The door was slammed shut again.
The room became quiet in an instant.
Marty stood there and looked at the closed door. After a while, he laughed bitterly, as if he was mocking himself.
At this time, on the other side.
Clarissa and Anderson had already boarded the plane to F Country.
It was four years since she had left the country. All kinds of emotions were welling up in her heart when she returned to the place she used to be familiar with.
Clarissa once thought that after she left, she might never come back here again.
But she didn't expect that in just four years...
It had been four years. Everything had changed.
When Jane died, Antonio took care of it. But what about Mark?
As she thought of all those times Mark had lent her a hand, Clarissa felt a heavyweight in her chest, making her difficult to breath.
However, the good thing was that she wasn't alone this time.
Anderson had kept her company.
Probably sensing her mood, Anderson clenched her hand and said, "When we get there, we might need to make a visit to the Ethanbez family first. I didn't tell anyone else I was here except for Jameson. He is the heir to the Ethanbez Family, which is a powerful family in F country. They should be very helpful for our investigation."
Clarissa nodded.
The Ethanbez family moved out of the country at the end of the last century. No one knew how powerful the family was.
After all, they were involved in the shadow economy. After the founding of the country, their business was not going well, so they went abroad. With their extraordinary means and strong resources, they now almost ruled the whole underground circle of F Country.
Although Anderson would have no problem investigating overground matters, without the Ethanbez family's help, it would be difficult to investigate the Lost Vanguard, the Sapphire family and Mark's death.
As she thought of this, Clarissa took a deep breath and exhaled.
She took a glance at the time. It was still early. The long-distance flight would take at least seven or eight hours.
So she said, "Let's take a rest first. We should arrive there in the morning. I'm afraid we will not recover from the jet lag so soon."
Anderson nodded. Only then did the two of them close their eyes and rest.
The plane arrived in F Country at 6 o'clock in the morning.
Anderson had informed the Ethanbez Family in advance, so as soon as he got off the plane, he met the chauffeur sent by the Ethanbez Family, who had been waiting for them at the airport.
The two of them expressed their gratitude and did not stand on ceremony. They got into the car and then it was driven all the way to the Ethanbez family.
The villa of the Ethanbez Family was located in an expensive neighborhood in Blink City in F Country, near the mountains and rivers. It covered an area larger than a park. From a distance, it looked like a huge castle. Naturally, it was owned by the most powerful family in the country.
The car drove into the manor and passed by an avenue with Chinese parasol trees on both sides before it finally stopped in front of a magnificent villa.
"Mr. Jordan, Mrs. Jordan, we're here."
There was a butler who opened the car door for them. The two of them got out of the car and walked into the house under his guidance.
"Anderson and Clarissa, you're here."
As soon as they entered the house, they were welcomed by the Old Madam Ethanbez— Elicia Ethanbez.
Clarissa and Elicia were close to each other as both of them liked the same artist.
Elicia greeted them warmly as soon as they entered.
"I've told the both of you to come over when you're free. How are you doing now? You've finally here."
Anderson and Clarissa greeted everyone sitting in the living room one by one. They were surprised to find that there were actually quite a few people present in the Ethanbez Family today.
Apart from the two of them, they seemed to have other guests.
Elicia smiled and said, "Come on, let me introduce them to you. These are all the people who fought for the country along with your grandfather. This is Lebbey, this is Barion..."
After a round of introduction, Clarissa roughly understood what was going on.
Back then, a lot of people had migrated abroad. There were probably the group of people who migrated along with the Ethanbez family at that time.
Now, after dozens of years had passed, they had grown to an influence that could not be underestimated.
The two of them greeted them modestly. Before they could sit down, they suddenly heard a cry of joy.
"Anderson, why are you here? Oh my god, am I dreaming?"
Everyone was slightly stunned.
Clarissa turned her head and saw that it was a girl dressed in boyish clothes.
She was not the pretty type, but she was handsome and chivalrous. Her skin was nicely tanned, which was very different from the girls in Ascijan.
She ran over excitedly and grabbed Anderson's arm.
Anderson frowned slightly, but he didn't let go. He said nonchalantly, "Yasmin? We haven't seen each other for a few years, and you're all grown up."
Elicia looked at Clarissa, smiled, and introduced, "This is my granddaughter. Her first name is Yasmin, last name Paisley. She is now serving in the air force. When she was a child, she was raised in Ascijan along with Anderson and others and they grew up together."
Clarissa raised her eyebrows.
